tampon alternative?

i have heard/read that mainstream tampons (tampax for example) are bad for us women because they contain bleach, which common says is terrible to have inside of you.

question: does anyone out there know a safe, effective alternative to tampons?

I think this is vaguely disturbing, altho I can't quite put my finger on why.

I'm thinking of asking my gynecologist about NuvaRing next time I go (winter-ish, barring unforseens). I've been on the Pill for years, and I'm pretty happy with it; but now I'm developing (past year or so) spotting at ovulation, moreso and moreso. It's a pain, and while the default solution would be to get a stronger formulation of the Pill, I'm curious about Nuvaring. I'm prone somewhat to depression, and since the ring is more localized, supposedly that side effect wouldn't be a consideration (I haven't *noticed* bcp making depression worse, but it could be making things a little rougher subtly).

However, while I know it's effective as birth control (they wave that statistic in front of your nose!), I don't know if it's effective for bad cramping--that's why I was prescribed the Pill in the first place. Any of you ladies used the Ring or know if it helps cramping? In fact, any of you used it in general and have experiences you can tell me about? (Plus I don't even know if insurance covers it *grin* but that's another sort of question) Thanks

Vaginal Discharge

I'm pretty knowledgeable about my cuntjuices, but lately I've been having a discharge that stumps me. It tastes like most of my other discharges, and smells like them too, but its the color of yellowish snot, and looks like it too.

I'm thinking maybe I'm finally hitting some stuff that's waaaaaay up in the cervix (I got a new toy, and its bigger than anything I've taken, and has a rotating head).

My vagina feels 100% A-OK, so I haven't resorted to seeing a doctor yet. Input, girls?

I haven't had my period in over a month (I've been regular since I was 13, started when I was 10). My diet and exercise routine has changed(I'm weight lifting now), and I'm off the pill. I took a pregnancy test, negative. I haven't been to a doctor yet. I'm wondering if I should go next week or wait.

Hi.. I haven't posted in this community for quite some time now. But I've noticed tons of new faces..and more input, as well.. so..on with my question.. I was diagnosed with HPV awhile back.. with cell changes on my cervix, blah blah blah.. reccommended for leep surgery, alas, I am a wimp..and haven't had the surgery yet because I'm too scared.. has anyone gone through this procedure?.. If so..your experience..please :)

There's a possiblity that my friend may be pregnant. Today she was fooling around with her boyfriend and she thinks sperm may have gotten into her.

I want to offer her my remaining birth control pills, but I don't know enough about them. They're the blue pills [about 4 of them] right before the green placebos....will these have any affect??

Hello my fellow vag pag-ers. My boyfriend is coming to visit shortly and I'd like to loose my virginity to him, he is a virgin as well. Now here's the problem he's very VERY nervous and well...skiddish for lack of a better word. Example: When I tried touching him for the first time he started to silently cry. After the better part of a month I was finally able to give him some oral, but not much. When I do pleasure him orally it is only for a little bit before he either starts shaking violently which makes me stop or he tells me to stop. What's going on? I'm really in love with him (we'll be together for a year come december) and I feel that I'm ready. He's told me that he's ready but I doubt that he honestly is. I care deeply about him and I don't like seeing him cry, so what can I do to set him at ease or to at least tell me what's going on thats making him feel so sad. When I do try to ask him what makes him worried or nervous he tends to clam up. Thanks everyone!
