There's a possiblity that my friend may be pregnant. Today she was fooling around with her boyfriend and she thinks sperm may have gotten into her.

I want to offer her my remaining birth control pills, but I don't know enough about them. They're the blue pills [about 4 of them] right before the green placebos....will these have any affect??

please help me out.

no.. they won't have any effect. that's why when you get put on birth controls they tell you to be on them at least a month before you trust them to be effective in contraception.

your friend should go to a local clinic or Planned Parenthood and see about the Morning After Pill if it's available there. those are made specifially for post-coital contraception.

Your birth control pills are not a sure fire bet. Have your friend call 1-888-NOT-2-LATE for information about emergency contraception. She can also call Planned Parenthood directly. Here's a link to their page on EC:

birth control pills are for prevention, so if the sperm got to the right place and impregnated her, taking BC pills now is going to have no effect. also, it's dangerous to give anyone prescription medicine that has not been specifically prescribed for them; it could have harmful side effects to her.

if she thinks she's pregnant, do have her call one of the numbers listed above or your local Planned Parenthood. that's going to do her a lot more good than taking your birth control pills.

Just so everyone knows... the morning afterpill is just the birth control pill but a larger dose. It isn't EVERY type of pill. There are certain birth control pills that don't qualify. Here is a link for what pills qualify - http://www.plannedparenthood.org/library/BIRTHCONTROL/EC.html.

Tell her she needs to go to planned parenthood. She needs to get a pregnancy test before going on the morning after pill.

here is a curiosity question...... Why do you take a Pregnancy test before the morning after pill? I htought pregnancy won't show up for a few weeks after your impregnanted?

Because it is possible that the person was pregnant the month before and got spotting which they thought was a period... pretty common occurance. If you are pregnant and on the pill it could negatively effect the fetus.
