Sorry for another post so soon after my last one but something really scary happened to me.

I usually get pain associated with ovulation and rarely I have spotted every so slightly. I just ovulated and started actually bleeding a pinkish/brown, similar to what one might see when one first starts a period before the flood gates really open. This lasted all day along with the general light nausea I get when ovulating. This time however I was having crazy hot flashes as well.

I booked a last minute appointment at a PP at center that was open late and quite literally went in sobbing because I was convinced I had cervical/ovarian/uterine/some type of reproductive cancer. All that's been drummed into my head since I first got my period was "any bleeding between periods is abnormal and can be a sign of many "silent" reproductive cancers."

Anyway! Without even doing an exam, just a pregnancy test (neg), the doctor said that given the exorbitant amounts of stress I've been under, my cycle is likely totally out of whack and not to be surprised if I go on to have a light period. She said she was also surprised that I had never spotted before as it's "normal" for many people.

Thing is, I'm not sure whether I should be relieved that it's not, in fact, something more serious, or if they really didn't do enough to look into it and I'm just being blown off. I did impress upon them that it's not just a spot on the TP after wiping. That there was a reddish/brown sludge in my underwear and it keeps coming as I continue to wipe. They were totally unconcerned.

My cycles are like an atomic clock, always regular and on time without any surprises which is why this freaked me the F out because it's never been normal for me.

Has this every happened to any of you without something catastrophic being wrong?

Back when I was a teenager, before I was on HBC, I could feel when I was ovulating.  Just enough of a twinge that I eventually figured out what it was.  When I was 19, I went on HBC and was on it for 11 years.  I have been off HBC since last September, but I do not feel ovulation anymore.  Is it likely that, after being on HBC so long that I just don't feel it now, or could something be fishy?

For the record, my periods are pretty normal and regular, though my cramps are worse (but not ungodly) than they were when I was a teenager.

Not that I'm being worrisome about anything, just curious.

Around 10-11 days after my period I get brown discharge...and then around the 14th day the discharge is red...as if I have my period but not as loose or..."periodish" and it just comes in like one time during that day and then after that I get the usual gross ovulation mucus discharge...I'm going to the GYN next week but I want to know if this red type of discharge is just breakthrough bleeding..I think it is. I don't have any cramps.

Also this happened twice this month but I get a hives like rash either on my hand or arm, that itches like crazy but goes away during the day..it has happened twice during my ovulation time.

Just wanted to post this, I'm not freaking out lol

I'm sorry ahead of time if this is in the memories or on Vulvapedia...

I was thinking about my fifth grade sex education class (ah, the good ol' days!), and how the nurse that was talking to all the girls about our first period, what we should expect, etc. She told us that we might feel a "popping" sensation in our lower abdomen when an egg is released (that's ovulation, correct?). I'm pretty sure I've felt it before, but I could have just had gas all those times and said "OH THATS THE POPPIN SENSATIONZ. WHOOT."

Anyway, I'm currently on first day of my NuvaRing-free week and I swear I felt that sensation earlier today. Could I have ovulated? Is there a way I can find out--take my temperature or something? And I have been having a lot of down-south mucus lately...

Every month, with the arrival of EWCM (egg white cervical mucous), comes some major depression. I began ovulation yesterday, today it is bigtime EWCM, and I am feeling like complete shit. It happens every single month. I'm bipolar, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I take medication for that. After ovulation, it recedes for about a week, and then returns in full force until I get my period (31 day cycles).

Does anyone have any resources where I could find some ways to relieve this? It's really a big pain in the butt.

I hope I posted this right, its for a friend -- I'm not ovulating right now!!

I think i felt myself ovulating last month! I've never felt it before, that I've known of (I have IBS, so stomach pains are frequent) but this felt like tenderness at first, then tiny, sharp jabs on first my left ovary, then my right one, about a week apart from each other. Does that sound like what the rest of you have felt when ovulating? This all took place during the week and the week before when my body would have a period were I not stacking on the nuvaring. I have been on the nuvaring for two years, have pcos, and my bf is a very ehavy weed smoker/drinker, so I don't have to worry about these being "pregnancy pains", right? Thanks!

usually when i ovulate i get a day of soreness and and obvious feeling of "laying an egg" from whichever ovary is doing the duty, but this time it's different.
About the day i should have been ovulating(about three days ago) i got really sore and crampy.
tmi? )

Yay, I just joined this comm! *waves*

Anyway. Ovulation question.

Recently when I ovulated I spotted. It was the same consistency as menstrual blood. There wasn't much and it didn't hurt or anything, but I've never bled while ovulating before!

So, is this a totally normal thing, or what?

On another note: I truly enjoy ovulating. Horny as hell for about three days. Unless I start semi-seriously dating a boy anytime soon, I'm staying off birth control pills, and I didn't have a lot of problems with them. I just find ovulating fun....when I don't randomly bleed.

i was wondering if any of you ladies experience a kind of morning sickness when ovulating. when i was younger i had a problem with my right ovary twisting when i ovulated that i eventually outgrew, but over the past few months i have been experiencing terrible breast pain, nausea and headaches that last three to four days when i ovulate. i googled it and it came back with a few vague refrences that it does happen which made me wonder how common it is.

When checking ovulation using mucus, why is it that the best time to check is morning? And (usually) how long does your mucus stay stretchy and egg whitey? (*sneark* not yolky. Brain was DEAD)

Oh, also! The whole eating fruits and veggies to make you taste better. How long does it usually take for that to go into effect?

Thank yoou :)
