bleeding while ovulating? WTF?

Yay, I just joined this comm! *waves*

Anyway. Ovulation question.

Recently when I ovulated I spotted. It was the same consistency as menstrual blood. There wasn't much and it didn't hurt or anything, but I've never bled while ovulating before!

So, is this a totally normal thing, or what?

On another note: I truly enjoy ovulating. Horny as hell for about three days. Unless I start semi-seriously dating a boy anytime soon, I'm staying off birth control pills, and I didn't have a lot of problems with them. I just find ovulating fun....when I don't randomly bleed.

I generally spot/bleed at ovulation. Sometimes I spot so I only see it on the TP; sometimes there's enough blood to use a pad.

I also know women who bleed only sometimes at ovulation and some who've started to do so after they entered their 20s.

It's a totally normal thing, though it doesn't happen to everyone.

My god, for a few days every month I'd go slightly crazy. I was a crap worker during those days, but man it was fun!

I only started bleeding at ovulation a year ago - at 22. It just started out of nowhere and now I get mild cramps and spotting for about 3 days around ovulation.

It's weird (but cool) how our bodies save up these little surprises to throw at us just when we think we've got it all figured out, lol. We're so neat!

Yeah it's only happened to me once but I FREAKED OUT and then took it to Google and was relieved. Totally normal.

I've also started to spot in the last year (22nd-23rd) during ovulation. I read in a generally trusted gyn book that it may be caused by stress, and the first 3 cycles so it was. But then it skipped 2 cycles only to return for ever longer days, caused by no abnormal stress! This month it's been 5 days, and I have not mere spotting, but big clots too. My gynecologist said it was because some wrong hormone was released telling my body it was time for bleeding when it wasn't and he prescribed me vit. A and E. I've been taking these for 2 cycles now but the spotting gains power and length! Any idea what's wrong?
