Sep. 29th, 2002 02:01 pmHi.. I haven't posted in this community for quite some time now. But I've noticed tons of new faces..and more input, as well.. so..on with my question.. I was diagnosed with HPV awhile back.. with cell changes on my cervix, blah blah blah.. reccommended for leep surgery, alas, I am a wimp..and haven't had the surgery yet because I'm too scared.. has anyone gone through this procedure?.. If so..your experience..please :)

Date: 2002-09-29 03:29 pm (UTC)I've had the LEEP, and it isnt as big of a deal as everyone makes it out to be. there a pinch, but it feels a bit like a biopsy if youve ever had that.
It's quick, too.
Get it. And soon. When reccomended for a LEEP, it means you need to get it, and soon.

Date: 2002-09-29 03:42 pm (UTC)Have you had a colposcopy (biopsies)? I do hope that they did this before recommending LEEP...I think I'm safe in assuming so; I doubt they'd recommend this on the basis of a Pap.
I've talked to people who have had LEEP done, and they say it's really no worse than the colposcopy. And I agree, if the abnormality is severe, I'd REALLY not put off the LEEP.
