Sore and swollen boobies, bloating, and acne- in the middle of my cycle! I'm on ortho tri-cyclen and I -just- started the blue pills today. This is the kind of stuff that usually never comes around until my period!
Do you think any of you gals could offer up some sort of explanation?
Oh, and I just switched to generic if that makes any difference.

I probably have a really basic question here, but exactly what determines weather or not someone has a 'tight' or 'loose' vagina (sorry if that was put bluntyl)? I'm not sure about my size and was trying to find out.. what size is it supposed to be? I've noticed alot of people talking about how it hurts for them to even instert a finger or tampon into their vagina, but that's never happened for me. Atleast, it dosen't hurt. I can feel it when anything goes in there. I have a hard time when it's time to pull out my tampon, and when I instert my finger inside I can feel it being hugged. This is when my vagina is relaxed as well. Is this the normal size of a vagina for someone at my age? I'm 16 and have never had sex or put anything in there other than a tampon or finger. Also, when something bigger is inserted into the vagina, is it easy for it to stretch? Will there be resistance? Does it hurt?

I'm the co-organizer for The Vagina Monologues at my university and my production crew thought that we could make rose corsages out of tampons for VDay this week. I was hoping I could have sometime to work on them today but I don't have any instructions. I googled it and didn't come up with anything.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and ultimatly how to create one?

Thanks!

Loving the new layout, good work ladies!

Ok, so I had a yeast infection (mild) and treated it this past Monday with the Monistat-1 Ovule thing. The itchy, burny, symptoms have gone away, and I never had any smell. My doctor did assure me it was yeast though. Anyhow, my discharge has yet again changed. The only way to describe it is the consistency of cream cheese. There is still no smell, and I'm wondering if this is because of the ovule? My sex drive has been next to nil so I'm not really worried about how soon I can have sex again or anything, I just want to know what she's doing down there, and get her fixed up right!

Oh, and the cracked skin is almost healed. I used an antibiotic ointment on it while the skin was still broken and painful, and now I'm using a vitamin A, E, and D lotion on the general area, being VERY careful not to get it inside me.

When I posted earlier about boiling yarrow into tea and it relieving my cramps completely, there were some doubters as to whether it was placebo.

I'm telling you, I have always had HORRIBLE cramps for which I downed Aleve. So the last period I drank the tea whenever I felt the pain and it would put the pain back in its place.

So the next period (right now), I have NO CRAMPS. This has never happened to me, at least not in a LONG TIME.

Inga Muscio, in the book Cunt, mentioned that when one stops taking the pharmaceuticals, one might notice the pain going away. I don't know if that is at all true, and I definitely didn't believe her, but now I wonder.

Hi, Ive been watching this community for a while and commenting.

Does anyone get really painful...after shaving like a few days down the line--red and itchy, etc.
I do, so i got the "finishing touch" hair removal pen--and you can use it because its small to trim hair everywhere--i just wanted to say it works awesome--and leaves no itching, red, ingrown monsters on your region...

I've just recently started Ortho-Tricyclen Lo. Today, I'm supposed to start the placebo pills - BUT, I'm going to see my boyfriend this week. He's in the military, so we don't get to see one another too often. I do not want to have my period this week when I see him, so I'm considering skipping the placebo pills and just starting a new pack as to avoid starting my period. Is this safe? Will I screw myself up by doing this? Thanks in advance!

What's the best time to take your pill?
I can never seem to take mine at 9, i'm always asleep, gone, or out where I can't take it or something else comes up...I've even set the alarm on my phone and still can't seem to take it on time often.
I suppose I could take it when I wake up in the morning, but I never wake up at the same time.

I've been taking Marvelon for almost 3 years now. The past few months I've found that I'm spotting a lot between cycles when previously I never had. To me, this probably means that Marvelon is not the pill for me any longer. (I've lost around 70lbs during this time so it stands to reason that the same pill may not be right for me anymore, I'd think). I'm planning to go to the doctor after this period is done (since I expect they'll want to do a pap smear and generally prefer not to do that during one's period) but in the meanwhile, I was wondering - in terms of preventing pregnancy, is just the pill still enough, even tho I'm spotting? It wouldn't be tragic if I got pregnant, altho my husband and I have only been married since the end of September and were hoping to wait a little longer. :)

Today I just bought a digital thermometer that gives the temperature to the tenth of a degree (94.5, 96.4, etc.). It's just a regular thermometer, so is it one that will give me my basal temperature first thing in the morning, or do I have to buy a specific basal thermometer for that? If so, where do I get a basal thermometer? I only found normal thermometers at CVS this morning.

Thanks!

I get a brown discharge about a week before my period normally. I'm not sexually active and i discussed this with my doctor and he says it's just dried up blood or leftover blood from my last period, which makes a lot of sense since I only get it if I miss a couple pills or if my period is short (which it tends to be).

Still, it's gross and I hate dealing with it. I was wondering if there was anyway to get rid of this junk or extend my period (I'm on the pill already) or something?

Hi everyone,
Got a question. I just started taking Yasmin and am now in the placebo week of the pill pack. About when will I start my period? Thanks!

As you may remember, I'm taking a class on "Women's Health and the Life Course" this semester. (Course description here, list of readings (friends-only) here.) I would've posted this on Tuesday, but my laptop's power cable died tragically and I had to get a new one.
