Regarding skipping the placebo pills . . .
Feb. 8th, 2004 01:05 pmI've just recently started Ortho-Tricyclen Lo. Today, I'm supposed to start the placebo pills - BUT, I'm going to see my boyfriend this week. He's in the military, so we don't get to see one another too often. I do not want to have my period this week when I see him, so I'm considering skipping the placebo pills and just starting a new pack as to avoid starting my period. Is this safe? Will I screw myself up by doing this? Thanks in advance!

Date: 2004-02-08 02:12 pm (UTC)If you want to be able to skip your periods regularly, or be more sure that it will work, you will want to switch to a monophasic pill. With a triphasic one like OTC-Lo, skipping may not work well (as in you may spot or even bleed through the next pack), although it is perfectly safe to give it a try.
Alternatively, sex in the shower or on a towel will help if you do end up bleeding. Good luck :)
