Hey there! This post isn't actually about the above song, but my little ordeal here reminds me of it!

Anyway, after sex yesterday my boyfriend said something that caught my attention. It went a little like this: he pulled out and said, "you have really white cum! there's like a shotglass that get's tipped over in there!" and then we started discussing all the reasons why I might have a more white-ish cum than clear... It was very, um, philisophical to say the least, if you ask me. haha.

So, what is the deal here ? Are there others with a very white color? And what could be the causes of this white cum? I am a vegetarian, who does not eat much dairy. Not sure if that helps, but i'll throw it in there!

Thank you :)

I've been on a POP for two months (Well two months tomorrow.)
I had my period last week. I stopped bleeding Monday the 24th. Then this Saturday I started getting some light bleeding. Figure its got to be a breakthrough bleeding. Its a bit heavier today, not by much, but its heavier nonetheless.
But this happened with my period the first month on the POP too.

Is it breakthrough bleeding? Will this ever stop?
I only get the bleeding a few days after my period. Last time it lasted I think over a week.
How long does it really take for your periods to lighten up on a POP?

What the hell is going on?

The boy thinks my vagina hates him because its been bleeding every time he sees me.
So I hope this will stop before Friday. (Thats when I see the boy again.)

(FWIW I'm on Yaz)

Ok, so I was talking to my gyn's nurse on the phone about my concerns that my BC was making me gain insane amounts of weight. (Jury is still out on this, but I don't have a thyroid problem, but that's not what I'm asking about here.) The nurse told me that "birth control makes your body think it's pregnant, so you feel hungrier."

I was feeling upset at the moment (dealing with this is very frustrating) and I wasn't getting the best reception on my phone, so I didn't question her, but WTF?

I have read many times here on VP that HBC makes your body think that it has already ovulated, right?? And that's is not the same thing as tricking your body into thinking you're pregnant, right?? Did that nurse give me medically incorrect information or is that lazy dumbing down of the science so that I can understand?

And has BC been proven to make you feel hungrier? This I am not sure of that either way, but given that she had just told me that my body was thinking I'm preggers I was suspicious. If that's true, then I would presume that I wouldn't be able to trust my body's feelings of full and hungry, but no one has ever warned me about that. Especially as someone who is considering how best to lose weight, I would need to know for sure if that was the case.

Also! If the nurse is telling me incorrect info, should I tell my doctor? Honestly, I'm not sure which nurse it was, but I feel like I ought to tell someone. I feel more inclined to do it because I can't point the finger at someone in particular, so hopefully no one will get in serious trouble, but it could be corrected.

Any quick reply would be appreciated as I have to call my doc about something else anyway and I'd like to do it this morning if possible. Thanks!

Good morning everyone!

You'd all be doing me a huge favor if you could share you experiences with missing a period on HBC then having everything be ok.

I've never skipped a period while on Orthotricyclen Lo, although it hasn't been arriving exactly on the placebo pill week either. I haven't had any PMS symptoms except for breaking out, but only a little. I don't know if my discharge indicates whatever would happen without a period and it's normal, or super-early signs of pregnancy. I took a pregnancy test after it was 3 days late and now I want to take another to feel that relief again. I've been on OTL since december so I should have had time to get used to it.

So please, just a comment to let me know it'll be ok. I can't enjoy this clean week otherwise.

Thanks!

Update: To anyone reading back with the same question, my period came the last day of the week, pretty light, and is still finishing up on the second day of the new pack. Unusual for me but no emergency!

I posted a more detailed question over in [livejournal.com profile] menstrual_cups, but my Diva Cup has been leaking recently (just a bit last cycle, and 3 times already this cycle), and I'm wondering if I need/should move up to the larger size. I've been using the cup for almost 3 full years now, so I'm definitely a seasoned user. Holes have been cleared (and even when changing, there wasn't all that much blocking them, certainly not more than normal, and I'd say even less than I normally get). I check for a good seal (and can give the cup a few turns even).

I've never been pregnant, and I'll be 27 in May. I know that the "after age 30" thing is approximate, hence my wondering if I'm just hitting that body change a bit sooner, and the need to move up a size.

Hey all you super knowledgeable people...

Is it possible after a few years of taking a bc for it to just suddenly not be compatible with your body anymore?

I had to take Plan B today.  I missed 2 pills on the weekend, and I just wanted to play it safe.
I've had conflicting information on what to do with my remaining regular birth control pills this month. Do I continue taking them as usual? or do I stop taking them because I took Plan B today?
Thank you.

Hey everybody,

Last year I had my first pap smear.  The results came back as LSIL..they did further testing and said that the cervical changes I had were mild and they didn't need to do any procedures, just a repeat pap in 6 months.  They told me to quit smoking and take vitamins, and like an idiot, I have done neither of these things.  My next pap is coming up in May and now I'm kicking myself in the ass for not putting more effort into helping myself get better.   Now, I know smoking causes cervical changes to progress faster..but, does anyone know how fast hpv/cervical changes progress?  Have any of you guys had a repeat pap in 6 months and things were much worse?  I just really don't want to end up having LEEP done or anything like that, although I know it's a possibility..I'm just scared.  Anyone have any info/experiences?  Thanks so much for reading this!!

I just called and scheduled for my first pap today. My doctor told me she would like me to have one before she refills my birth control. Calling was a terrifying experience, because I have a pretty bad phobia of phones.

I've been trying to make an appointment for months really... But, the fear of phones, not to mention the complete dread of having the procedure done, has made it difficult.

April 10th... 8:30AM... I feel relieved that I have made the appointment, I can't get out of it anymore...

But now that I know I'm going to go through with it,
I'm completely terrified.

I was nervous enough making the appointment that I forgot to ask the girl on the phone if I was expected to do anything. I think the rules are no sex for 48 hours before... and that if I start crotch-bleeding I have to reschedule (though I shouldn't be, luckily, because I didn't think to check that until after I made the appointment.) Is there anything else I should prepare for or am expected to do? How long do these things normally take?

Words of encouragement or tips on how not to be absolutely petrified would be appreciated :)

Okay so I had cryo done last Tuesday... noticed some yellow and very smelly discharge. Had it checked out at the Student Health Services on campus just in case since I'm three hours from my gynecologist. They said my cervix looks super burned, well yeah, and that I have BV. The BV doesn't surprise me, neither does the burned part, but they were really concerned. I can't exactly get to my doctor anytime soon. I have an appointment April 25th... I want to just wait, but I want another opinion. You guys, of course.
I do have HPV, so I suppose I'm more prone to getting BV... plus I've been wearing all pads for awhile and it gets really gross. I can't really help it.

So, I suppose what I'm asking is: Does having BV make things more serious in the way of infection after my cryo?

I did try to call my doctor, but nobody is picking up. Of course. Should I just go ahead and treat the BV? How much does that cost, anyway? I hate my cervix so much.

merci!

I'm on hormonal birth control, specifically Loestrin 24 fe.
Here's the background/my question:
I'm into the third week of my third pack. My first month I had spotting, which is to be expected. However, my first period was better - absolutely no cramps. My second month was fine for the first two weeks. Then my period was terrible, worst cramps I've ever had and normal bleeding. Now I'm halfway done with pack 3 and I've been spotting for two days. How can I be spotting in month 3 but not month 2? About 3 days before my placebo pills I was put on an antibiotic...could that have messed things up? I've been off the antibiotic for almost a week and a half - so I don't understand.

Thanks in advance.

alright, so i was wondering, does your first period basically "map out" how the rest of them will be? i got my first one about 3 years ago and it was heavy and lasted six days. Since then almost all of my periods have been heavy and six days long. Just something I've been pondering.

Hey everyone! I'm Leanne, 20 years old and I just found this community and was looking for a bit of advice.

I was recently taken off the combined pill after over a year (Yazmin) as my doctor thought it was causing my high blood pressure and headaches.
I got put on Cerazette instead and the good news is my headaches have gone but my blood pressure is still quite high. Also I have been experiencing horrible mood swings. One minute I'm angry, the next I just want to cry. Last night I cried for about an hour and when my boyfriend asked what was wrong, I couldn't tell him because I had no idea!
Also I started taking Cerazette on the 3rd of March, the day after I had finished my pack of Yazmin. On the 8th I had my period, which I was expecting anyway and that lasted for 7 days. However, 6 days after I had finished my period I started bleeding again and I still am, 12 days later, and by the looks of things it's going to be like this for at least the next 5 or so days.
Not being able to have sex is driving me mad! I was just wondering, are the mood swings and prolonged bleeding a temporary side effect? Will this settle down after a few months?
I have a doctors appointment in about two weeks but I just wanted to hear others experiences with this pill and if they had any of the same side effects as me.

Also, if I come off of this progetogen-only pill and can't have the combined pill, what other options are there? I'm a bit naive with all of this stuff really.

ok this doesnt relate exactly to vaginas and such, but i have seen questions like this one before....

So some history....never had anal sex and this only seems to happened when im on my period.

This is all a little TMI, but what isnt on this forum, right?

Sometimes when im on my period and im having a "bowel movement" it hurts like hell. Like it seems as if the muscles are stretched and then when they contract again there is a sharp excruciating pain. And then if i spread my cheeks apart...it feels like there is an open cut or something on my asshole. To top it off, today i went to the bathroom (only pee) and i found that there is bright red blood coming from my asshole. I couldnt see well in a mirror, but i dont think its coming from inside, like i said its like theres a cut or something burst open. Is this hemorrhoids?

I've been on it for almost a year now. Breakthrough bleeding like clockwork halfway through the 2nd month on every pack. Not to mention the OMG I can't function for 2 days migraines I get on the off week.

This time however, the breakthrough bleed is lasting a LOT longer than normal and hell, I'm even getting clots like the "period" time. Is this normal?!

This pill is seriously giving me doubts as it was prescribed to help migraines (I typically get at least 2 a month. Now I only really get the 2 day long requiring medical intervention migraines (which I never got) on the off week) and well.. it seems while fixing one issue, it's breaking another.

I've also ran into recurrent BV only since I went on this pill too.

I read a past post on this subject, but I'm a bit easily frightened and I was looking for some reassurance.

I have been having some brown discharge. Now, I'm not on the pill. I am sexually active, but we are VERY careful. We always use a condom. I always pee afterward to prevent infections. I am on a new ADD medication as of last week, could this be causing it? This IS the time I would be ovulating, I believe (I had my period about two weeks ago) so could this be normal? It's never happened to me... I'm just really nervous. I guess it's normal to freak out. I'm new to sex. I think it's HIGHLY unlikely that I could be pregnant but... ahhh.

So, what could be causing this? Is it normal? Should I go to a gynecologist immediately?

Bleeding?

Hey~

For the past week I've been having pain during urination, and it feels like swelling in the area of below. I figured infection, got antibiotics. They didn't work.

I noticed something odd, though. I'm not spotting, but if I push the toilet paper in a little, it comes out a little bloody o-o

Is this cause for concern D:

It still burns like hellll to pee, but the blood's my major concern ^^;

so for about two or three weeks now. .i've had these bumps on my lips. little tiny bumps. they don't hurt, itch, ooze or anything like that. just little bumps. that were never there before. .they kinda look like these things. at first i was like 'oh my goodness what if it's herpes oral hpv oh my gosh'. .well i figured if it was herpes i would've had a break out by now, right? the reason i'm so worried is a while after i start messing with this guy i notice these things. .uhm i was wondering if it could be an std/i of some sort? i got tested for chlamydia & ghonorrea like three weeks ago and while i was there i asked the doctor if it looked like herpes or anything. .but she said 'no, just use lip balm . .dadadada. .'. well. .uhm idk they haven't gone anywhere. .and i'm still worried. .blahh :[

Sex on Top?

This might be a weird question, but anyone have any tips for riding on top?
I just can't seem to get it right.

Edit: No problem getting his penis in -- the problem is starting and getting that in-and-out motion.

A frantic friend of mine wants to know:

She had unprotected sex about two days before the start of her period. She hasn't actually missed a period yet, but I told her I'd ask this fabulous community. The guy never came inside her. What do you think the odds are? I've tried assuring her but she won't listen to me.
