Good morning everyone!

You'd all be doing me a huge favor if you could share you experiences with missing a period on HBC then having everything be ok.

I've never skipped a period while on Orthotricyclen Lo, although it hasn't been arriving exactly on the placebo pill week either. I haven't had any PMS symptoms except for breaking out, but only a little. I don't know if my discharge indicates whatever would happen without a period and it's normal, or super-early signs of pregnancy. I took a pregnancy test after it was 3 days late and now I want to take another to feel that relief again. I've been on OTL since december so I should have had time to get used to it.

So please, just a comment to let me know it'll be ok. I can't enjoy this clean week otherwise.

Thanks!

Update: To anyone reading back with the same question, my period came the last day of the week, pretty light, and is still finishing up on the second day of the new pack. Unusual for me but no emergency!

I've missed quite a few periods on my pill.. I mostly don't get them any more, even though I still take the placebo pills.. (I've also been on the pill for almost 8 years..)

Kind of.. they would come and go. At first I would freak and take a pregnancy test, but then by the second or third time, I wasn't so worried anymore, so I stopped taking the tests..

I still take the placebos every month and I somehow skipped my period entirely last month -- and I'm not pregnant. It's definitely possible to just not have a withdrawal bleed sometimes.

Thissection (http://www.vaginapagina.com/index.php?title=Hormonal_Birth_Control#Are_periods.2C_or_.22withdrawal_bleeding.2C.22_normal_while_taking_HBC.3F) of the Vulvapedia might help you out a little. It's fairly normal to not have the occasional withdrawal bleed on HBC -- and to not be pregnant. :) In fact, if I'm remembering the patient information correctly, some brands (I'm remembering from when I was on Nuva Ring) only actively advise taking a pregnancy test if you miss more than one period while on the method.

If you're nervous, taking another pregnancy test can't hurt, if only for that sense of relief. But rest assured, it is a normal experience. :)

I never lost my periods all together (in fact, I still bled heavily on the pill, so I got an ablation later on) but 4 years into it, on the same pill, my period decided to SHIFT the day it started by 2 days. Just like that, no warning.

Freaked me out, so I know how you feel
