waxing

i looked through the archive for brazillian bikini waxes but didn't find what i was looking for.

i'm a wax virgin (except for the eyebrows) and i'm going in for an appointment on friday. i'm going on vacation on monday and really don't want to deal with the evilness of shaving and the inevitable back pain from all of the contorting. butttttttttttt, i unexpectedly started my period so now when i go in, i will most likely still have a tampon string sticking out of me. is that... rude? i'm sure they've seen it before because they're professionals, it's their job, right? but it feels weird. people suggest going after your period because that is when it will hurt less. but what about while you are on your period? i'm not worried about the pain factor because i know it is going to hurt a lot. i'm more worried about the reaction i might get when the waxist sees a string dangling out of me.

is this a no-no? or does it really matter?

so i found this diaggram online

and i cannot for the life of me find a diagram that actually labels what this thing is. The thing that is labeled as "vagina" it points to some sort of ball thing that is not a hole but seems to be some big organ that blocks the vagina that needs to be moved out of the way when you have sex. does anyone know what it is called?

http://www.vaginaverite.com/images/vulva1.gif there is another diagram.
here it is labled vaginal oriface. its a pink bumpy thing.

Hi everyone.  I wanted to find out more about something I've been curious about for a while now -- multiple orgasms!  I'm wondering a few things, and I'm hoping some of you ladies wouldn't mind spilling your guts.  I already asked this over at sextips, but I thought I might get some other perspectives here.  Thanks!

How many females out there can have them?
When you have them, do the ones after the first feel different than the first one?
Do they feel different from 'one big orgasm'?
What's the most you can have in one session?
How long do they last?
Did you have to learn how to have multiple orgasms?  If so, how did you learn?
For those that have multiple orgasms, do you need to have more than one to feel satisfied?

I'm basically interested because I'm curious :).  The more details, the better!  Thanks!

Okay, so I'm really confused. I'm not on my period, and it shouldn't be starting for another two weeks. Saturday night I had sex, and afterwards we realized that I'd started to bleed while he was in me (there was nothing on his fingers).. And it was a LOT. I wouldn't really care much, but the weird thing about it is that it stopped right afterwards, and I haven't seen a single drop since.

I'm not really sure what exactly my question is.. I guess I'm just looking for an explaination? Thanks to anyone who can help me out

Can any of you tell me more about the differences, more on a technical level, between a vaginal orgasm and a clitoral orgasm? I want to know the mechanics of what happens, why it happens, and why some like one over the other. And, if at all possible, what my friend means by (and I couldn't get this answer out of her) about clitoral ones being more "harsh." I'm rather confused.

cause im sure im not the only one that cant swallow pills :)

(as taken from their website...) so here are the facts...

* Femcon Fe is chewable.
* Femcon Fe can also be swallowed.
* Femcon Fe is spearmint flavored.

...and how they apply to you

* Femcon Fe is small and chewable, so you can discreetly pop it in your mouth wherever you are - the gym, the office, out with friends. It makes it easier to take your pill on time every day.
* It's your choice: Femcon Fe can be swallowed or chewed.* It's effective either way.
* Some women have difficulty swallowing pills, even small ones. With Femcon Fe you can have safe, effective birth control without swallowing pills.

*Immediately followed by a full glass (8 oz.) of liquid.

I don't have a livejournal account, but I read VP frequently and it's really the only place I'd feel comfortable asking these types of questions...

I'm a 17 year old girl, and have been with my boyfriend for a week and a half. We started having sex on the third day of our relationship and then about six days after that he began to develop flu-like symptoms and a loss of appetite. I don't have a spectacular safe sex history, as I used to take party drugs and would occasionally have unprotected sex with guys whose STD-free status I wasn't sure about. Me and my boyfriend haven't been using condoms the entire time (I'm on the pill). I think we have had unprotected sex four or five times. I feel absolutely terrible for not telling him this, and putting him at risk. I am terrified that he got HIV from me. I've never had a test done, so I've booked an appointment to have one done tomorrow. Read more... )

Okay, it's been a while. Hello. :)

The last two or three days I've had an increasing amount of old blood (brown discharge) coming out, and I'm about due for my period. I think this can happen if someone is stressed or something else changes and they don't realize it (this happened about a year ago), but I wanted to check. The reason is on Saturday I was with a boy and while his penis head did come near my vagina, he hadn't ejaculated at the time and he never penetrated, so other places assured me there was little/no chance of me being pregnant with that little contact, if any sperm had been in any precum.

So, wonderful ladies, is this discharge just a result of my life (stress because of school and testing, very little sleep), or should I be worried? I think I know the answer, but I would like to be sure. Thanks. :)

EDIT: Thank you ladies. :)

I almost wish I hadn't asked because my regular period, complete with cramps, began about halfway through my school day and I had no Midol on me, and the school won't even give anyone a Tylonol...oh, well. I should be fine now!
Thanks again. :)

Ovulating?

So, I'm in my second week of my pillpack (Kariva, generic of Mircette), and I take Saturday, Sunday, and Monday's late. (Late as in before the 12 hour time frame, not after it) My period ended exactly 14 days from Monday. (Friday is my start date). Is there a possibility that I ovulated yesterday or the day before? I felt some abdominal cramping on my left side. I'm really paranoid now.

If so, do I need to use back up for the rest of this month?

G-Spot

What exactly is it? do you feel it when he's inside of you? i've heard that when they hit your g-spot it feels like you have to pee? someone please explain; g-spot. ive looked through some articles but don't really understand them. thanks!
[identity profile] sugarhoneycake.livejournal.com
I'm having some random burning when peeing lately. It feels like a sting when the urine hits my labia. Not a bladder infection. I just quit the pill about a month ago. I am having some random spotting....what could this be? fyi...I am going to the doctor soon.

So I've had this thing that comes and goes every once in awhile, its like a bubble on my pelvic bone, I can push it in. It doesn't hurt, but I've had it off and on for 4-5 years.
I asked a doc and she said it wasn't anything.
I mean it does not hurt at all and every description I've read of a hernia does not sound like this, except for the pushing in a bulge. as far as I knew there was just fat there and no muscle to break through. there aren't any organs falling out or anything. Both of my parents have had hernias as well (not sure if its hereditary) But my mom had hers for years and got it fixed after she gave birth to me.

So any ideas?

Thanks

Oh and feel free to delete if it doesn't go here

I was wondering if using shower heads to masturbate has the same effect that a vibrator has, with the whole losing ability to orgasm other ways such as manually and orally?

I've been on depo provera for three years now. Pre-menstrual symptoms have been very mild since starting it, especially compared to the PMDD I had before.

I get my shot in a week, so, as usual, I'm having mild PMS. For the first time since starting depo, I am having major gas. Fortunately, it's not painful, but it feels like my entire abdominal cavity has been replaced with a balloon that periodically lets out air (fortunately, it's not super-stinky air, and fairly silent, but still uncomfortable).

I used to only get this the day I would get my period, and it would go away after a day or two. Since I'm getting my shot in a week, however, I don't think it's going to clear up on its own.

Is there anything I can do, diet-wise, to help this go away? I've never had success using products like gas-x and beano (they usually just make it worse for me).

This is something I've been wondering about for a while. If your 'period' when you're on the pill isn't actually a real period, would you still miss it if you became pregnant? Or would you carry on bleeding for as long as you kept taking the pill while pregnant? If the latter, how are you supposed to detect pregnancy early on if you're still having 'periods'?

What I'm essentially asking is: do you miss your period if you get pregnant while on the pill?

Hello,

A while back I joined under another username for the wrong reasons, and was really amazed to learn about alot of the things women go though. Knowledge I have gained from here has helped me with relationships and friendships when they needed help. I try to chime in with the male PoV on things I know.

My Situation:

I was dating the girl I thought I wanted to merry, obviously too young, but I was completely blinded by love. She constantly hurt me and had serious issues. She cheated on me the first time with her ex, and after talking to me about it, i stayed with her. The second time was with a guy she had known a few years, and it gets a little hazy.

She performed oral sex on him, was naked, and teased him with sex. She did not consent to having sex and he did rape her.

This put me in the worst position I have ever been in.

My Question:

How should I have reacted? It was so hard to not blame her, on one hand I was hurt beyond belief, on the other, had I left, she would have killed herself as she was suicidal.

What I ended up doing:

I ended up sticking with her for another 6 months, though some of the worst situations in my life, finally with all the strength I could muster I broke it off after getting hurt too many times. However during the time after her rape, I supported her like she had never cheated, though she knew deep down I blamed her. Does that make me a bad person?

I understand if this does not belong here, this is something that to this day, almost 2 years later has bothered me. I just have so many questions constantly swimming though my head about it, I decided to ask.

Bleeding.

I just posted much the same question to [livejournal.com profile] fam, but I want to ask here too because I know VP gets much more traffic, and I'm very curious and freaked out by this:

Lunar Fertility Phases

I guess the idea is that whatever lunar phase you were born under, that lunar phase can trigger a spontaneous ovulation in women of reproductive age. I've heard of some of the other concepts on that page before, but this sounds absolutely ludicrous to me. Does anyone know of any web sites or other information that debunks this?

So, to preface this, I have been to my nurse practitioner, and have looked through the memories and other resources.

I have been having some odd watery discharge and some spotting (old, brown blood, not enough for a pantyliner) and thought maybe my BV was back with different symptoms so I went to the health center at school (there is an amazing nurse practitioner who specializes in women's health who I see) and we chatted and she checked and it isn't BV, so she does some feeling around and mentions that I have an enlarged uterus and asks if I have ever been pregnant. I say no and she resumes feeling around. Also my ovaries/uterus have some odd hardness on them that could be abnormal (cysts or fibroids) or could be my body. It is worth mentioning that I have a paraguard IUD and have had it for 11 months now with no complications.

Today I wake up and there is a gush of very watery, red blood down my leg. It is also worth mentioning that I am ovulating and I know that spotting can be normal then, but this is odd for me. Also, I have been having cramping from the beginning of my cycle to now and that is also abnormal for me. I put a pantyliner on and continued my day but the bleeding turned out to be more than a pantyliner could handle and it continued to be very red. Later this evening I went to put PJs on and noticed a LARGE clot (marble sized) and I have never had a clot that large before.

I am in the process of scheduling an ultrasound and am seeing doctors and such I just want to get some lovely VP ideas/advice etc. on what could be happening now.

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: I don't think I have ever posted something and gotten no responses :(

i caught one heck of a virus somehow and have been laid out in bed with a fever on & off and the symptoms of a rotten headcold, and earlier this evening (after blowing my nose a whole bunch of times), i went potty and found spots of a brownish color in my panties/on the tp when i wiped (similar to the brownish blood that comes at the beginning/end of my period). i'm pretty prone to yeasties so it isn't surprising that i would get one when i was sick otherwise on top of it, but this seemed weird to me considering i'd never had discharge like that outside of my period (and it isn't due for at least another 10 days). in looking at the super helpful links in this community, i found this bit of info -

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

edit: i have no STDs and have not had unprotected sex recently, so it couldn't be pregnancy spotting either.

is it possible that i could be/could have been bleeding internally somewhere? am i just being paranoid? is it anything to worry about? thank you in advance!

The back story: I'm a 17-year-old, sexually inactive girl. My periods usually arrive every 28-35 days, and began about 4.5 years ago. They are extremely heavy and laden with upsetting cramps. I've been depressed for a little more than three years and have been on 50 mg of Zoloft for about one week. I have not experienced any side effects aside from decreased libido; the insomnia went away when I began taking the pill first thing in the morning.

The current woe: I have not gotten a period since March 2. This seems like a fairly long time, especially since my body should have more or less 'adjusted' by now. I have been wanting to get to a gynocologist anyway, since a] I have awful cramps, b] I'd like to know exactly when I'm getting my period by means of HBC, and c] my boyfriend of 2.5 years and I have decided to become sexually active once we enter college in the fall.

Have any of you lost your periods due to antidepressants or medication in general? It can't be due to emotional problems, since I've grappled with nothing new for the past few years. It can't be stress, since this has decreased in my life, nor weight loss, since I've only lost about 7% of my body mass over the course of a few weeks. Is it more important for me to alert my psychiatrist or mother about seeing a gynocologist? Thank you for the help!

On a related note...which antidepressants and HBCs have you find to best 'jive' together? For any Zoloft users out there, how have been your experiences with HBC? Thanks again!
