Hello. Sorry if this is a duplicate question, but I appreciate any help. I have an annual exam (pap smear) tomorrow. Since I had to schedule it pretty far in advance, it happened to fall sort of during my period. I called today and asked the scheduling person if it was ok to come if I'm still spotting. She said, yes, if it is the end, not the beginning of your period.

Ok, great. Except now I'd say I'm a little more than spotting, and definitely after the 24hr cancellation window. (heaviness of "spotting" I'd say is nothing a panty liner couldn't handle) A little googling shows pap smear+period=bad news. So, if there's some spotting/blood what's going to happen tomorrow? The pap sort of matters, but since I just started having sex in the past year, it's not a huge concern (in that, as I understand it, three years is the incubation period for discernable problems), BUT I am concerned about a possible BV infection. Would the blood interfere with that?

I'm just a little confused. I don't want to make a mess tomorrow, but I also don't want to pay a cancellation fee out of pocket. Thanks very much for any assistance.

So. The Boy recently decided that it would be heaps of fun to play with my bits, and I even more recently decided to let him. This usually takes place while snuggling in his car (because we are ridiculously busy students and rarely get to hang out together at his house -- my parents would Highly Disapprove and make a point of not letting us be alone, so my house is out of the question.). Anyhow. I was hoping that you lovely people would have some ideas for me to give him to make it be the heaps of fun it is advertised as being. It isn't -displeasing-, but at the moment it's somewhat take-it-or-leave-it. (More on the take side, but still.) I have the goo going on, and have explained to him that he needs to -use- the goo or else it's uncomfortable, but that's about it. (Amusing side note: He had originally been entirely squicked by the idea of oral -- either party -- but especially giving. I was a little sad about this, 'cause I've heard the stories about how wonderful it is, but he's willing to try most stuff once, so it was all good. Besides, we aren't planning to go that far aaaaaany time soon. But. I am off track once again. The point of this is to say that he was feeling sad that he couldn't get me off -- he wanted to reciprocate -- and has decided that that might actually be quite a good idea. Hee.)

Um. If you got through all that, that's amazing. Short version: Help me have fun with his fingers?

Thank you all!

Hii. I'm 21 years old and this is my first time posting.

Last night when I went to the bathroom I noticed some slight spotting. I took notice but didn't think too much of it, until this morning when I noticed it was still there, and slightly heavier. I just finished my period two weeks ago, and I've always had a pretty regular period. I know spotting sometimes can be a sign of pregnancy, but everything i've read that said that, said that was after you had already missed your period, i'm not even due for it yet..

I've also heard that sometimes this is a symptom of certain STDs. My boyfriend and I have been together a little over a year. We have a veryy active sex life (usually once a day, at least). We always use a condom due to the fact that I am not currently on birth control. However, the guy I was with before him used the pull-out method. Would I have noticed signs of an STD before last night, considering my last unprotected sexual encounter was about a year and a half ago..? Could this be a sign of something else?

I realize I should just go see a doctor, but I'm away at school and thats not as easy as it sounds. I'm just looking for any opinions or experiances people can share with me to kind of lead me in the right direction with this.. thank youu.

I was wondering whether it was possible to have a yeast infection, but only experience the itching. I have no burning while peeing, no cottage cheese discharge or anything, but I've been really itchy down there lately. Usually I itch myself a few times a day, so it's not like I'm NEVER itchy except for yeast infections, and so since there's a slight increase I'm just wondering if that's just me being naturally itchy. Annnd the itching started to get worse after my period, and it might possibly be connected to the fact that I left my Diva Cup in for a bit over twelve hours (yeah, bad I know, but it was exams and I was stressed and was I lazy/breaking down...oops) so maybe that could have caused it? I've also noticed that I've been more dry down there; so maybe there's just natural dryness that's not an actual yeast infection? Or is dryness a symptom of a yeast infection? I've never really had one before. Also, if I suspect it's a yeast infection, based off of this one symptom, is it bad to use monistat or something anyways?

Thanks so much!!

alright, so, i think i've got a little bit of a strange problem. as i have been masturbating since i was about 6 years old, and on a regular basis since then, and can't ever remember NOT achieving orgasm, i feel i'm highly skilled in the art of getting myself off. however, for some reason whenever i'm even sitting beside a guy and masturbating, it takes much much longer, and it's much more difficult for me to obtain orgasm. having a guy manually stimulate me is an even worse scenerio, as even if it feels a little bit good, it's never enough to get me even close to getting off. i'm pretty sure it's something psychological, as i'm physically capable of reaching orgasm in mere minutes on my own. oral sex does nothing for me, and only once have i orgasmed during intercourse, and that was when i was stimulating my clitoris at the same time. i've tried and felt myself coming close to replicating orgasm during sex, but i always end up numbing my girlie bits up or something.

anyway, i'm wondering if any of you ladies have any suggestions as to how i can shake this weird psychological thing and be able to achieve pleasure and orgasm from my partner, and not just afterwards by myself!

Hey all,

I just wanted to get some input on this... I'm taking ortho tri-cyclen, and have been for a while. I missed two pills in the middle of the second week, nearly two weeks ago. Stupidly, I didn't read the instructions (will never happen again), and took the pills for the rest of the week normally. My period started after missing the two pills, which is what reminded me to take them finally. So after the week ended, I decided to read the instructions and saw that I was supposed to take two for each day after missing two... oops. I figured I'll start a new pack, since I already have my period and then it will hopefully restart the cycle.

Well, I had my period throughout the first week of pills and now I'm on day 11 I believe, and I am having minimal bleeding, I would describe it as spotting. I have never spotted for this long after a period, and it's probably the mix up with the pills... but I am not sure how bad this is or if I should see a doctor... or if it is somewhat normal due to the circumstances and I should just continue to take the pills. How long should spotting be before it is considered dangerous to the body? As in, if it's still going next week, I should probably see a doctor if I haven't already?

Thanks for any advice

Hey everyone.

I know that when washing your nether-regions, it's best to avoid products with soap in them.

So my question is, if the label doesn't explicitly state that the product is soap-free, how do you know if there's soap in it? (What ingredients should I specifically be looking for on labels that constitute as "soap"?)

Thanks everyone :)

ok you can delete this if its redundant or not the type of thing to post in this community but i just wanna know what you think. so a couple weeks ago i had an accident and needed to use plan B, the accident occured the day after my period ended so there probably wasn't that much risk of pregnancy but i wanted to be on the safe side. then this weekend i STUPIDLY had unprotected sex and so i felt the need to take plan b again. i will NEVER not use a condom again so don't feel the need to lecture me about that. and both times were with my boyfriend. so i know that plan b can mess up your cycle, but lets say it didn't mess up my cycle...then the day i had unprotected sex would have been the 16th day of my cycle. isn't that the time when you're ovulating? so do you think that there is a big chance that i'm pregnant?

and is it bad to take plan b twice in one month? i know its probably not great but i just thought taking it again would mess up my body less than being pregnant or getting an abortion would so i thought i would take the risk.

also i have been really emotional the past couple days since we had the unprotected sex like crying and being really upset and then an hour later being ok. and this morning i woke up at like 6am for an hour because i felt really nauseous. can you get morning sickness THAT quickly after becoming pregnant? or is it probably a coincidence? also...would taking a pregnancy test now be at all accurate or effective? because i know it says they can work up to five days before your missed period and i think i'm at like 10 days before my period is supposed to be. i don't even know though because the plan b from last time might have messed up my cycle and its not that regular anyway.
i'm just really worried and i can't believe i was that stupid!!! :(

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Has anyone ever noticed a connection between their menstrual cycle and their wisdom teeth? For example, I find that during the week of my period (never at any other time), my wisdom teeth often poke through the gum and cause me a little bit of misery.

Is this just a coincidence or is there actually a scientific explanation for this?

Thank you!!!!:)

my period will not stop.
I am not taking any pills whatsoever. My period started kinda late ( a little over a week), but has been going for about ten days.
any clue on what I can do to make this stop?
[identity profile] yourtoofake.livejournal.com
last week i wrote a post about how after i had sex i started bleeding like if it was my period.
i went to the gyno and they said it was because i had taken the morning after pill and it made me get my period 2 weeks early.
on sunday i was barely bleeding anymore, just barely and spotting, so i decided to have sex again with my boyfriend.

and then yesterday, monday, i woke up again, to bleeding as if it was the first day of my period! today im still bleeding, more than yesterday. i dont fill up a pad or anything, but theres still blood. and im getting cramps again.

so clearly, the bleeding was due to me having sex, which means somethings wrong with me up there. unless i just got my period again, which makes no sense to me. im going to the doctor again so they can do a pelvic exam. maybe i have an infection or something.

does anyone have any idea what it might be??
maybe had the same experience??
anything would help, i really dont know whats going on with my body.

I'm attempting to understand ovulation but my brain isn't cooperating. A couple sites have different info and omg just help. lol. I want to understand and be able to track my cycle. Does my cycle start the first day or last day of my period? When am I most likely to get pregnant? I am on birth control and use condoms with my boyfriend, I just want to know really. Asked mother dearest but her answer was "I had three kids from 17 to 22 you think I know?" silly lady. So yes, wonderful women of this community...educate a girl!!

Thanks and love!

Hi everyone,
I just started my BC (Ortho Tri-Cycen Lo) and am just about to finish my last set of dark bue pills. I have four left. My period is pretty regular (28 days) and should have came yesterday. I was just wondering if it's normal to skip your period on the first batch of BC and if I might get my period late, like when I start the placebos. I have taken every pill at the same time every day and logically know I'm protected but I still kind of miss the comfort of seeing my period and knowing I'm not pregnant :)
Thank you!

The Daily Mail enter into the debate over Gardasil using a family argument over it to look at the arguments for and against it. The mother wants her daughter to have the vaccine and the father initially didn't even want to discuss it before being eventually (apparently) bullied into agreeing that she should have it. His argument is the common one - he didn't want her to feel she should go out and have sex before she was 16 or 18 (ages quoted in the article).

The bit that annoyed me was "An HPV infection — which only occasionally leads to cervical cancer — is more likely the more sexual partners a woman has. But it seems to fail to acknowledge that it could happen the first time, and that could lead to pre cancerous cells or even cancer.

Anyway, it also gives the information that us UK ladies can have it privately for £400 through a private doctor (which I didn't know before and is possibly the only thing I found informative about the article).

Hi again everyone, thanks for your replies to my last post! I was curious, since I'm experimenting, if any of you have any favorite positions for masturbating that help you with your orgasms? I'm trying what I've heard of before and seen in some films of just being on my back, but I've heard that a lot of other ways help you relax. I'm trying different things, but was curious what experience has taught some of you all. Post your favorites! :)

My vagina is not a happy place.

Rape, BV, no sex drive, painful sex, and now ovarian cysts or fibroids.

My vagina is sad.

How can I make it feel better?

I've often seen people recommend heat pads to help ease menstrual cramps on this community before.  And I do love me a heat pad.
On the other hand, several times I've been asked if I'm on my period before having heat applied to my body because "it will make it flow more heavily."  Um...?  The first time I was asked and then told this was during a visit to a chiropractor's.  I wasn't about argue with a man who was going to be twisting my neck later.  Another time someone mentioned it was when I expressed interest in using a... well, it's a hot stone that you lie down on, and I have no idea what it's called in English but it's all the rage at hot springs and spas in Japan.  Lying on hot rocks to draw out sweat.  Don't go when you're on your period, I was told.

So my question is, is this true?  Will applying heat to the area around your ovaries make your period flow heavier?  It doesn't really make much sense to me, but I thought I'd sound it out before brushing it off as one of those things I've been told in Japan and gone on to completely ignore.  Any ideas?  Am I all good to go use up my plethora of stick on heat packs?  :)

Thank you ladies.

How on earth do you get a tampon in? I've managed to get it a little bit in there, but then my vagina stings and I can't go in anymore. I need something a little more in-depth than the things I've found on google. I'm trying the tampax for 'light' flow, so shouldn't it be able to get in there without the burning? I've got a friend my age who uses tampons, so when I asked her about it she told me to just stick it in, which is of no help to me.

I'm thirteen, I've never had sex, and I'm totally clueless about all things vagina-related. I have had my period many times before, I started puberty at, like, 11 and I'm just so sick of having to use pads. (which feel like diapers to me)

I hope this isn't too vague, I'm just really squimish about my body. Please help me.

I don't plan on using it, so don't worry about explaining the negative side effects or anything. However! How does this stuff WORK?! It claims to "tighten" the vag. Does it make it swell, or just dry it out? Anyone know?!

Thanks, girls!

I know that you need to refrain from vaginal penetration for a day or two before a pap smear, so that you don't disturb cervical cells. But is clitoral stimulation and anal penetration okay, or is it better to not have too many fluids going on? I refuse to get another smear if this turns up inconclusive results, but I'd like to get off if it's not going to mess with anything.
