Sorry if this has been asked about a million times, but here it is again.

I have PCOS, am on HBC, and avoid the placebo week. Sometimes I start bleeding again anyway, so I just embrace it and let it go for a week or so and then start taking the pill. I started bleeding on Sunday, so I let it go. I'm still bleeding now, but there's a possibility of me FINALLY getting some lovin' on the weekend, so I'd like that to stop, lol. I just took a pill a couple hours ago, at my "normal" time.

Is there anything else I can do to increase the odds that I'll stop bleeding by Friday night? How many days of pill-taking does it take YOU to stop bleeding?

Thanks ladies!

ok- couple quick questions. i inserted my first nuvaring on a friday...had sex the next friday (they said to wait 7 days...by my count that was the seventh day exactly) and haven't had any sex since then. i took the ring out last friday but no period ever showed up. i'm supposed to put the ring back in tomorrow...but don't know if i should since i never got my period.

questions:
1. should i take a pregnancy test?
2. will it read a false positive because of the BC?
3. should i put in my next nuvaring even if i never get a period?

it seems unlikely to me that i'd be preggers, since i've been on bc for years (with only a small break) and only had sex once this month. i just doubt i ovulated.

note: i waited 7 days because i missed putting it in by a day (i usually insert on thursdays)...thought better safe than sorry...not because it was my first time on nuvaring. i've used the ring for at least 3 years.

THOUGHTS? ADVICE? thanks to all my loveley ladies (and gents?) in advance.

I'm having a difficult time finding legitimate advice on the internet about a very "sensitive" problem I'm having...

For the last seven years I'd only ever been with one man - he is now 37 years old. We broke things off and were seeing other people for nearly a year. In that time, I took up with a 23 year old man. It was the best sex of my life! Never before had I had an orgasm during intercourse.

Long story short, I am now back with My Old Man (and happy as a lark). However, I've noticed that in comparison to my 23 year old partner, my "Old Man" doesn't seem to get as erect. He can certainly achieve an erection, but it doesn't feel as - hard.

I'd mentioned my conundrum to my doctor (a man of similar age - 40). He insists that it is age related. As he is not a urologist, he was unable to give me advice on how to help my man achieve a firmer erection.

Help! I'm determined to stay with this man for the rest of my life, but I'd hate to think that at the young age of 24, I'll be missing out on amazing sex - for the rest of my life!

Thanks in advance for any advice you ladies can impart!

I went off the pill two months ago. My first period off the pill came right on schedule (more regularly than I ever was before I went on the pill in the first place) and was roughly the same heaviness and length. It’s now roughly the right time for me to get my period again.

Yesterday, I started spotting lightly, and my vagina feels a little sore. It really doesn’t feel like my period—what could it be?

Itchy!

Since yesterday, I have noticed that the skin right next to my clitoris, like on one of the inner lips has been extremely itchy, and it is now red and it is definitely inflamed. I assume that is because of me trying to itch it so much. But I have no idea what this could be. I have not had sex in about a month (and it was with a condom), but I have masturbated often (rubbing against a pillow, not fingering). Any help as to what this could be, and how to alleviate it? Help is much appreciated.

Hi there.
I'm on NuvaRing, and I've been using it since August 2007.

The doctor has me on a schedule where I put the ring in on a Thursday, go 24 days (or something like that), and take the ring out on Sunday.
I usually get my period on Thursday...I usually get to insert the new ring followed by a tampon. (sorry if that's TMI!) My period then lasts around 3 days or so. It's been pretty consistant the entire time I've used the ring.

Anyway, the last couple months (like, maybe the last three...) I've been forgetting my ring!
I'm supposed to take the ring out at 10:00 AM, but I've been forgetting it. One time I forgot until around 3:00 PM that day.
I was supposed to take my latest ring out this last Sunday (the 13th), but I completely forgot about it until Monday. I took it out around 3:00 or so on Monday.
Today was the day the new ring was supposed to go in, and I didn't get out of bed to put it in until 12:00. (Noon)

I'm fairly certain I don't have to worry about my protection...logically, at least, it seems to me that I shouldn't be protected any less if I'm keeping the ring in LONGER than normal.

I'm just wondering...what should I expect from this?
I haven't gotten any sign of my period yet today.
My period doesn't ALWAYS fall on Thursday, sometimes it falls on Wednesday or Friday, so I'm not worried yet...but I am wondering if my period might come later because I left my ring in an extra day?

I looked in the vulvapedia, but there's nothing about specific HBC, which makes sense.
Anybody have experience with NuvaRing who have forgotten to take the ring out on time?

Thanks for any help!!

I'm having a bit of a pill/period worry.

I've been on microgynon30 for over a year now and it's the only pill I've ever been on. until recently things have been perfect, my period showed up the day it was supposed to, hung around for 5 days and disappeared again. My cycle has been 28 days both before and while taking the pill.

Things have been a bit off since Feb. I got my period on the 4th, and my cycle only lasted 23 days. The next cycle was 33 days. And today it showed up making it just 17 days.

My big concern is that there is something wrong with the packet I've been using, since they're all from the same box. I know that coming off the pill can cause irregular periods like this, and I'm scared that it hasn't been working the last few months and the reason I'm not pregnant is more down to luck than anything else. Am I just being paranoid?

Hi, I've been doing a lot of reading on the internet but i can't find a clear answer. I've been on Metformin for about 1 month and a half and have not gotten a regular period. I had two "brief" periods, on the 1st of March and again on the 16th, and that was just 1 day of bleeding and it wasn't heavy at all. Mine are normally 5 days, heavy. i do not have PCOS or anything else. Is it the Metformin that's causing the weird/no periods? i can't think of anything else it would be. Doctor did not mention such side effects, he only mentioned nausea which i only got once or twice so far. thanks.

I'm posting this for my roommate since she doesn't have an LJ.

It started hurting like 3 days ago.
It just really started itching bad like a pain itch not like a mosquito bite but just a painful itch.
So I took a really hot shower and it went away for like an hour.
The bottom of my labia it was sore and that went away finally.
Today my clitoris has been really sore and when I rub it, it feels much better but the pain doesnt go away.
It only helps when I take a steaming hot water.

So I wrote in here a few days ago about a UTI that turned out not to be a UTI....and a doctor not knowing what was wrong with me and why I had to constantly pee all the time/burned when I peed.  I made him re-test me for chlamydia, and sure enough, I got a call today and I tested positive for chlamydia again!

I had chlamydia last month and was treated with antibiotics.  My symptoms completely went away.  I have since had sex one time, with my regular partner whom I'm pretty sure does not have chlamydia, and with a condom.

How is it possible that I have chlamydia again?  The doctor said he doesn't know, because the antibiotics should have worked.  Has anyone else had this happen to them where the antibiotics didn't work for them?  Could I be resistant to them?
