Does anyone know of any balms that can be used to relieve menstrual cramping? I know of only one in particular so far, Girl Balm by Buddha Nose that is specifically aimed at menstrual cramping, but it is pricey...like $22 for 2 or 3 oz. I saw some Badger Balms, like for sleeping and sore muscles and wondered if either of those might work, since they are only $4 each, and a little less than an ounce (a good travel/purse size actually). The same question came to mind with regards to Burts Bees (Res-Q) Comfrey Ointment. Are any of these safe or effective for cramping, or is there another reasonably priced (and sized...to fit in my purse) girl balm out there?

cross-posted a lot, sorry if it fills your friends page.

I run Discordian.com, a website dedicated to the adherants of a philosophical system that is somewhere between a religion and a joke. Imagine 70s pagans and occultists got together took acid and watched children's comedies, and there you have it. There's a section on sex (as one of the driving forces in our lives), and I've heavily neglected it. There really hasn't been anything on that section since the current version of the site went up three years ago. I finally got my brain together to start writing something for it, and I'm really happy with how it's coming along.

Now I need more material from other people, both to link to and to inspire me to write more.

I need some links for thse subsections: ritual, technique, inspiration.

Help!

Send me your favorite sex websites, particularly those with a multi-gender perspective. I'm looking for occult and ritual sites, plain old sex tip information stuff, polyamory information, kink information, esoteric porn, radical sexual celebrities (like Annie Sprinkle), sexual activism, queer/bi/trans sites, etc. I am particularly interested in websites you visit more than once or have found personally useful. Media suggestions (books, videos) are also welcome. Not interested in pay sites or personals.

Thanks!

i've read the memories but i didn't find exactly what i want.
i'm currently halfway through my second pack of the pop nora-b which is the generic of camilla. i had no problems for the first month, had a period just as the first pack was ending and the second on was starting. i'm spotting now for two days, and its dark brown and red and chunky. it's not enough for me to call it like a period, but when i wipe i'll get chunky dark blood.
i've been taking my pills on time and i haven't missed any. i'm not taking any other medications.
my question is: i've had bad side effects from other pills, but never had any spotting before on them. i started the pop to see how i would react to having the mirena iud, but after the first month i was happy with the pills and was planning to stay on them for a while longer instead of the mirena. but now, with the spotting i'm not so sure. does this mean that i'll probably continue spotting and that these pills are not working well for me? i've never had spotting before so i'm not sure if this is a one time thing or if i'll have to keep dealing with it. i go back to my nurse practitioner next month to see about the mirena, continuing pills, etc but i haven't called her yet about the bleeding.
thanks so much everyone.

This may be an odd question but can your partner normally tell when you have orgasm-ed when they are going down on you? I honestly don’t think mine can, last night when he was going down on me I came, and then he just kept going, I became a little less loud I guess, lol. I mean it felt good, but umm I was done….So that leads me to another question what do you do when you have orgasmed and your partner is still going, do you just tell them that you have came? Or do they just know. Any help would be great! Thanks, I love this community.

Hey guys,

I was wondering if an UTI could cause a burning feeling inside the
vagina? not just around the pee hole?
The last time I had sex was 2 weeks ago with my now ex-boyfrind. (he
was my first). The next day I felt a little pain in my vagina but just
ignored it. Then a week later, everytime i peed, it would burn and hurt.
So i though i had an UTI because I didn't take very good care of myself
after sex (ie. not peeing or taking a shower right away). So i bought
cranberry juice, along with AZO pills. The burning and wanted to
pee every five seconds has lessen since. But not the pain inside and around my vagina. It even itches at times(near the clitoris and outer labia)! So could i have mistaken this for an STI?
Yet we used a condom every single time, although he did go down on
me...
Sorry if this is confusing, but I have no idea what i could possibly
have. I'm getting tested on Tuesday for STI just to make sure. But results won't come back in like a week or too : (.
Thank you!

So my boyfriend wants to get a reversed Prince Albert done to his penis.
I was wondering if anyone on here as encountered a sex partner with a pierced penis. Was there a lot of pain during sex, or was it more pleasurable? Can someone tell me what I should expect?

Okay, now that I got that out of the way...
I had my period this month already, June 2-10ish. On June 10th, I lost my virginity to my boyfriend and we've been having sex everyda for almost a whole week since then. Sometimes twice or three times a day (Haha. Don't judge me! I have a very strong... libido? lol). And well, I have goe one day without having sex and this morning I woke up to my period. Is it possible to have my period twice in one month in such a short span of time? What could cause this to happen? My hormones and less stress? Or... could this be a miscarriage? But then that wouldn't make sense since weve used condoms whenever we had sex together.

Hello, I checked the entries in the memories and the tagged posts about this, but I found conflicting advice.

I'm getting a brazilian wax tomorrow, and was wondering what type of pain reliever should I take, Ibuprofen (Advil) or Acetaminophen (Tylenol)?

Also, how long before the appointment would you recommend I take the pain reliever?

Thanks!

EDIT: Thank you everyone for your advice! Hopefully the Ibuprofen won't be necessary, but I have bad memories of the last time I waxed - I was 12, and my 12-year-old friend tried to wax my legs with an at home wax kit. Needless to say, it hurt like all hell. It's taken me almost 10 years to give waxing another shot... (Heh, not really, but I do want this to be as smooth as possible.)

I know I could probably find these answers elsewhere but I would really prefer getting some more personal insight.

I have an eating disorder, and I know that you can lose your period altogether as one of the effects. But, my question is more directed to before that happens. Lately my period has been really irregular. I just got off a period that only lasted 2 days. Before that I haven't had my period in a couple of months.

Is this something that happens normally in the process of it? And will I be seeing them occuring less and less until it's tapered off completely? I just would like confirmation on this because I'm sexually active and don't want to be mistaking a missed period as a pregnancy.

Also, is there any other effects that will occur that I am not aware of?

thanks ♥

Ok, I've been with my boyfriend for 7 months, we are 'apart' right now because of distance...but that's not the problem.

I was informed the other day that although he doesn't mind going down on me, the only reason he didn't often was because of the taste. What can I do to change the taste? (I know I'm not going to see him in awhile, but I'd still like to know what to do.)

Thanks so much!

[Edit:]

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'll take your words to heart. I'm not going to see him again for lord knows how long (stupid distance!) but I'll be ready for some loving when I do ;)

OK, this isn't strictly vagina related, but to be honest I didn't know where else to go. I am in England visiting my family, and no offense to any Brits out there, but speaking from experience most of the doctors around here are shit. So I beg the mods of the great vagpag to forgive my off-topicness and please please help me.

Recently, I took out my labret piercing, which for some reason I don't quite understand since it's been in since february and was totally healed, became infected. To me the infection looked like a cold sore, so out of desperation I bought some cold sore ointment, began applying it, and by now it is pretty much healed. Fine and dandy.
HOWEVER, since two days ago two MORE mysterious sores have sprung up around my lip area. I can't remember ever having a sore like this before, and the only person I have hooked up with recently is my boyfriend, and in my memory has never had anything like it either (at least not that I've seen). And anyway that was two weeks ago!
So I don't know what the hell is going on, but I'm a little freaked.
But the real reason I came to you guys is this: what is this? could it possibly be some type of nasty/painful/incureable herpes? and could I transmit it to my boyfriend through oral sex or kissing?
I'm going home next week, and am desperate for answers before I have to face my boy and explain why I'm afraid to give him head.
I feel so stupid and ill-informed for even having to post this, but I'd sooner not lose my boyfriend for keeping quiet and accidentally giving him herpes.
Help?

Last night was hellish for me. I was crying pretty much the whole night over practically nothing. The littlest things were setting my off, I was taking everything personally and generally being a cry baby. This isn't like me at all.

This morning, I got my period.

Related? I think so.

It generally happens that I get paranoid/angry/upset/evil around my period and obviously it's hormone related. The cramps are awful too. It took 2 kinds of pain killers and an hour with a heat pad to calm them down this morning and there's still a twinge there. I almost passed out in IKEA. They hurt :C

Obviously I want/need to do something. Not only for my own sanity but for the sanity of those around me who have to endure my hysterics 7 days out of every 30.

Do you think some kind of hormonal birth control would work? If my hormones were more regulated maybe my moods would be too. Has anybody else had experience with birth control helping with this kind of thing?

If not that then what else could I do? I know a girl who takes pills around her period for her hormones but I'm not quite sure what they are or what they do. Which isn't a lot of good.

The doctor recommended I take Vitamin B6 but I tried taking supplements the week before my period and during, but it had no noticeable effect so I stopped after a few months. Recently though, I've gotten worse, as have my cramps, so I figure it's time for action.

I'm gunna talk to my mum about it later but any suggestions that I could bring to the conversation will make it a lot easier I'm sure and would give me questions to ask the doctor.

I'm 17, I live in the UK I'm not sexually active and don't intend to be for a good while yet so ANY suggestions, not just birth control related ones, are very welcome indeed.

Thank you!

P.S I also get like this around the time I ovulate. It's not as severe but I definitely pout a lot more. Stoopid hormones =(

Would it be possible to use one or two HBC pills a month, right around the period to decrease cramping/nausea/etc? When I started the ring, I had INSTANT results...no cramping from then until I stopped using it. So I would guess (hope) that the pill (I've got yasmin for pre-op) would have similarly quick results, so concievably I could take one and be crampfree for a day, yes? So maybe 2 or 3 per month about the start of my period.

I'm getting sterilized so I'm not concerned about the birth control part of it and I don't want to be stuffing hormones down my throat for the rest of my life just to avoid a couple days of pain every month (besides..I'd be constantly forgetting them and then I'd REALLY screw up my cycle), but I also don't want to be in pain for a couple days of every month for the rest of my life x_x

Hey everyone.
Another question for Marvelon users. Or people who were on it at some point. I just came off of it about a month ago- I had my period from about May 15th-21st. I'm typically 5 weeks-ish in between periods, but I was just wondering if anyone who came off of Marvelon had to wait a little longer for their period to show up after they went off of it?
Marvelon really messed me up, it made me really sick on and off, caused a lot of stomach problems on top of the fact that I have acid reflux ... so yeah, for the 6 months I was on it, I was miserable.
So, anyone have to wait a weird amount of time for their periods to come back?
It was strange cause last week I had bad cramps and I was like ooooh here it comes, but ... it was a false alarm :)

sex myth?

i was just wondering, is there any truth to the whole "having sex is the best exercise out there, and burns sooo many calories" thing. and if it is true, why? couldn't you just sit on your bed and make "humping gestures" for an hour and get the same results?

kind of a weird question, i know..

Hi everyone! Reading this community has helped me become so much more
comfortable with my body, and now I have a question of my own. My period is due
to arrive sometime within the next week, and within the past few days every time
my boyfriend fingers me his hand has come out coated in what he described as
'brown, sticky liquid'. It only happens if he reaches fairly far up inside me and
has only come out as discharge once. When it did come out it was within a few
hours of him doing anything to me, and it was only a drop or two. It wasn't
nearly as much as my normal discharge. I've never had PIV sex, and the only way
I could be pregnant is if pre-cum somehow crawled down my stomach and into my
vagina, which I doubt would be possible. As far as we know, we are both STD free.
Neither of us have ever had any sexual activity with anyone else.

Today it was the worst- a lot was on his hands. I also think I might have reached
female ejaculation, could it have anything to do with that even though it's only
coming from deep inside my vagina? Or could it just be because of my perioid
coming up? Thanks for any help you can give!

Fact or Fiction:

Overdoseing on Vitamin C causes you to miscarrage if you take it early enough in the pregnancy.

ladies, remember when you were 12 and you had to go get a bra and your mom made you go into a department store or a victorias secret and you cringedd and it was so embarasssing and you didnt want the attendant to talk to you and it was just OH SO AWKWARD?

well here i am, a moment where it's become painfully evident that i am the world's oldest pediatric patient (the waiting room is decked out in spongebob and it's in laurel cause that place was still classy and there werent any doctors in clarksville when i was 1) . and clearly that just isnt going to work much longer. plus, i would like to get on birth control. i've never even come close to having sex. i just think it would be a good idea. so next time i go in im getting referred to a different doctor and moving along.. i actually think this will be less embarassing than the 12 year old episode was.
im just glad i can even ask this.. i know a few people at school who have sex like rabbits and freak out every four weeks because they cant ask their mothers for anything and dont have the initiative to go to PP for free.

wish me luck...

(Just wanted to start by saying this isn't my real journal, hence the lack of a profile and entries; I'm not trolling! These are just embarrassing/awkward questions...)

Anyway. Tuesday (June 13), while under the influence of pot, I had unprotected intercourse with a friend I've been hooking up with off and on for a year, when I'm home from college on breaks. I'm on the pill, so pregnancy, while a concern, isn't worrying me as much as the possibility of infection. I didn't let him finish in me, but I do know (now) that STIs can be transmitted through pre-cum, and I guess I'm wondering just how much I should be worrying, given certain cirumstances. I realize it was incredibly stupid to have sex with him a. while stoned, b. knowing that he hasn't been tested for anything, and c. also knowing that he'd had several partners before me, including another one he didn't use a condom with. I'll defintely never be so irresponsible again, and I've never regretted anything so much...it's the not knowing just how at risk I am that's worrying me so much.

We'd had protected sex earlier that night, so the amount of come after he pulled out the second time was not as much as usual; would that reduce the chances of infection? I mean, does that also mean that there was less pre-cum and therefore less of a possibility of transmission? And I've read that having an orgasm and then peeing to clear the urethra makes some sort of difference in the pre-cum of the next time, like reducing the amount of sperm in it or something. Anyway, he did do that after the first time.

Also, some background on testing history...in early April, I went for a routine OB/GYN exam. The PAP smear was normal, and I also tested negative for gonorrhea and chlamydia, which means I didn't get infected with anything from the unprotected oral sex I'd given to this same friend in March. Before Tuesday, this guy hadn't been with anyone else since March, so should I be reassured by this at all, since he couldn't have gotten any new STIs since then? Even though PIV sex, even with withdrawl, is obviously much more likely to transmit STIs?

Last Tuesday, my friend told me he'd had blood drawn for a drug test, also back in March, and that "they would've told me if I had anything." For some reason, to my stoned mind, this logic made sense...is there any merit in it at all? Is there any way a blood test for something unrelated could detect any type of STIs?

I'm going to Planned Parenthood as soon as I can to get tested for everything possible, and I'll ask them all these questions, but I just wanted to get some feedback. Also what's the earliest after a possible exposure that you can go in to get tested for most STIs? (I know for HIV, you have to wait 3 months, or 6 to be sure...those will be stressful months.) I haven't had any symptoms, but I still defnitely want to get checked out.

Sorry for the long-windedness, and if any of this is unclear/irrelevant. Also, I know the tone of my post might sound like I'm trying to find excuses not to worry, and maybe not making as big a deal out of this as I should...that isn't really true; I've been doing nothing but freaking out since it happened, and reproaching myself for doing such a clearly stupid thing.

Oh, and a quick unrelated question: for several years, off and on, I've had itching around the general vulva area -- not in the vagina, it's always external, and it's not burning, but mild, but it still worries me. What should I be doing about this?
