veganism, hormone levels

This isn't quite vag-related, so delete if necessary:
I've been vegan for four years, and began being vegan just as I hit puberty. Four years later, (I'm 18, almost 19), I am wondering if I have stunted some important developmental growth somewhere along the line. I was on hormonal birth control for two years, and felt that adequately maintained hormone levels, however, I no longer am taking oral birth control and am trying to understand what's going on with my body.
Is there any correlation between diet and hormone levels? I can imagine that there is, and maybe I am misguided in attributing my inconsistent moods (and other body issues) to my diet, but maybe there are others who have noticed similar tendencies?
Are there any foods that are rich in nutrients needed for proper hormonal development that I might be missing (or could have been missing)? Or that I could eat more of?
Any thoughts/advice is appreciated.
