I have been taking Ovcon35 for the last few months, but went to a new gyno with whom I decided to try the Nuvaring. The doctor said to insert my first ring within 5 days of my period starting. I usually get my period like on Wednesday or Thursday, and start a new pack of BCP on Sunday, so I just figured that I should stick with Sunday.
Then, this morning, I got a super special surprise and started my period a few days early. Now I don't know what day to put in my ring. If I was still taking pills, I would just wait till Sunday like I am supposed to, but I don't want to mess up my first month on the ring. Should I put it in like on Friday or just wait till Sunday?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hope that helps.

But yes, either way you may experience irregular bleeding this first month or two. If so, don't sweat it... that's normal.
Also, make sure to check your instruction package on whether or not you need to use back-up protection when switching methods. Some types of HBC advise using back-up protection when switching to a new method, others do not.
Good luck!
