I am thinking about maybe starting HBC, and have been looking into the patch...just because I hate pills.

I was reading about it tonight, and read that it is less effective for women over 198 pounds. I am wondering -- how legit do you think this is? Do you really think protection will be compromised if one weighs more than the said 198 pounds?

Have any of you who weigh over 198 been on the patch?

I have finally decided to have my first pelvic exam and pap smear, but I have a question. Should I let my primary care doctor do it when I get my yearly exam, or should I go to a gynecologist?

I woke up and felt a weird bump by my anus, to the right. It doesn't itch, but when I push down on it it feels sore and I can feel a small hard lump. I'm not sexually active and I'm STI-free. I'm thinking it could possibly be a pimple...but I'm not completely sure.

If you have any ideas about what it might be (and what to do about it), then please suggest! Thanks.

So this question was sparked by a discussion over in sextips. I'm wondering...I know that having larger labia is rather common and that many women have them. But, is the norm really having smaller/average sized (like the kind you would see in porn)? Because I was under the impression that many more women had longer labia than was realized, so it was actually more 'normal' and it was more uncommon for there to be masses of women with what has been perceived as 'normal' labia. Now, obviously there's no way to know for sure, aside from taking a census, but I'm just wondering if anyone has some insight on this matter?

Today and yesterday I have been spotting, and I am extremely freaked out because I have never spotted once in my 11 years of menstruating. I don't think I'm pregnant. The last time I had sex was 15-20 days ago, but I was taking BCP, I have had a normal period since then, and I don't feel any other symptoms of pregnancy. Today I'm on the second week of my 4th pack of Yasmin. Before that I was on OTC-lo. Why else would I be spotting?

Also I have fine/thin hair. I heard someone say that Yasmin/Yaz made half her hair fall out, and this is a common side effect for many people. Is this true? I would love to have thicker hair, but Yasmin also keeps my skin clear and doesn't make me whacked out moody like OTC-lo, so I'd like to keep taking it.

New here

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I just had a question.

I've had my period since I was 11 years old. I'm 22 now and up until now I have always been very regular, lucky me I know. But in the last four months I haven't been at all. I've had maybe 1 or 2 days a month of bleeding, and thats it. Which is weird considering usually my period lasts from 7-10 days. Now, its been well over a month since my last period and still nothing!

I haven't been taking any meds recently, and there's no chance of me being pregnant. I'm kind of scared. When I was 19 I had HPV and was one level away from cervical cancer. I've been having my PAP tests regularly. I had one in November, and the place never called me to tell me the results so I assumed it was normal. I'm just not sure what to think. I had been on meds this summer and they did mess with my period a little, but I'm not taking them now and haven't for months.

I know I should probably get to the doctor and have them check me out, but I just wanted to know what all of you think. Is there any other reason my body would be doing this?

Thanks for reading.

Getting out of the shower this morning I discovered that I have bumps pretty much just inside my vagina; and they are stressing me out horribly because I've never encountered anything of concern/something I didn't know what it was down there before.

They don't really hurt I think, they just feel weird, and now it's a little sore down there thanks to me stretching it out down there to take some pictures...

I'm 20; sexually active, and never had any exams that I can remember. I know, I know. I've needed to schedule a gyno exam anyway cause I'd really like to be on the pill. I have a boyfriend that I've been with for several months and he told me in the beginning he was free of disease so I'm not sure if this IS a transmitted disease if it is leftover from a previous boyfriend or what.

I'd certainly appreciate any info & suggestions you girls have in the meantime before I see the gyno...

Hi - my main concern right now, is that my period is MIA.

on October 2nd, 07 i had a miscarriage - i was 8 weeks along.
i didnt need a d & c - my period returned on 12/4/07 and lasted maybe 5 days if i can remember right?

i had a cryo done on the 19th of december - would that have anything to do with my period being late? i believe that i've read on the internet that it does Not mess with your cycle? but maybe they were misinformed. i havent called my doctors office because they dont really help with anything, at all.

I live with my fiance and we have sex everyday for the most part, i'm not on birthcontrol and we dont use the withdrawl method - i know that we did every day up until i had my cryo & after the week of no sex - what my gyno advised, we resumed but with him pulling out for a few days afterwards - now we're back to normal.

i'm sure my body is going through a rollercoaster of changes which is probably why i'm late.
mostly, i'm just extremely nauseated - for the past three days. i'm emotional - WAY too emotional, and i cant figure out why, also i'm just super tired.
i dont have any boob tenderness or soreness - my nipples hurt a tiny bit but i dont think thats really related .

any suggestions?
does anyone think that its POSSIBLE? even slightly that i could be?
i would go take a test, but i think no boob tenderness is whats making me believe that i'm just out of whack or something

any help would be greatly appreciated :]
thank you!

( for the record, i know that there is "am i pregnant" but due to the cryo and the miscarriage i thought that it would be more appropriate to post this in here )

hello all!

i've tried looking in the links but i'm currently overseas in a country that likes to block anything remotely related to sex. so if i could get some help that would be fantastic :). basically, i'm curious about hpv in the long run. after the whole colposcopy/leep deal, if someone has normal paps are they still able to transmit the virus?

i've also read things about people being able to "beat" the virus and having it worked out of your system. is transmission still possible here? for instance, chicken pox. you get the antibodies, but you're no longer contagious. does hpv follow a similar route? if so, is there any way to tell what stage in the virus someone is at?? hope this makes sense and thanks in advance :)!!!

Last night my SO and I had a bit of an issue with a broken condom.
Because I am no where near my GP and don't own a car I called the emergency room to see if I could obtain EC from them.
They said yes and my SO and I went to the Hospital.
They gave me a bracelet and took my bloodpressure.
After that when a nurse was free she asked me a bunch of questions about my periods and alcohol and drug use.
Then she gave me the pills (plan B) and I was free to go.
The reason I didn't just go to the pharmacy is because my health insurance covered the emergency room visit and I would have had to pay around 45 dollars to get it from the pharmacy.
My only issue is that I am on my parents health insurance and I feel they will find out about my little SNAFU.
Ugh.
Well other than that the experience was perfectly pleasant.
I just wanted to post this so other people in need of EC might read this and feel a little comfort.

all my underwear are stained in and about the crotch area. i bath and i don't think my vag produces an irregular amount of goo (i also know for a fact that i don't have any kind of infection), but, all my undies seem to have at the very least a yellowish discoloration.

this is a totally different issue from period stains. it seems like my normal fluids just stain them to hell. anyone else have this problem? it's annoying, my only sex undies are dead black, other wise i feel like it'll look like i've had them on since last christmas or they're "dirty."

this may or may not be normal, i have no idea, as i've never had an opportunity to check out other chicks underwear.

Basically, I'm one of those people who always worry. About everything. I don't know why, but I've always been like that.

Anyway. I had sex for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Of course, I have been super paranoid that I could have gotten pregnant, but I know deep down it makes no sense because:
A) I'm on HBC and have been for almost 2 years.
B) He used a condom
and
C) It hurt way too bad so we stopped, so he didn't even finish.

So, basically...I just I just need some support and for people to tell me that my chances of being pregnant are...very very small. My period is supposed to start this Saturday, and I can't wait. :P

Does anyone else get really, really worried about this stuff, even when you know it's unlikely?

I think I have a yeast infection, or have symptoms like it that started a day or two ago. Itchy, unusual discharge. Planning to go to doctor tomorrow to find out for sure and to decide on what to use, but I'm wondering how long different types of treatment take to get rid of the infection? The stuff I've read don't talk about how long, a few days, two weeks, pretty quick? Thanks in advance :)

Hi Everyone, I'm one of those long-time lurkers, no time posters, but alas I've finally come upon an issue that couldn't be solved by simply looking through the memories...*gasp.*  So I was hoping there might be a chance that y'all could help me.

I purchased a Diva Cup shortly before Christmas.  I'm on my second period since the purchase.   On my first period it seemed to work fairly well  during the day, but at night I'd have well...for lack of a better word, a bloodbath.  This time around I'm having the same problem, as well as some leakage during the day.  I clean it out and re-insert before I go to bed, but still, inevitably the next morning... dun dun dun...

anywho, any suggestions out there from other Diva Cup ladies?

Thanks...sorry to start off with 'gore.'
