Hi everyone. I'm new here. I just had a question.

I've had my period since I was 11 years old. I'm 22 now and up until now I have always been very regular, lucky me I know. But in the last four months I haven't been at all. I've had maybe 1 or 2 days a month of bleeding, and thats it. Which is weird considering usually my period lasts from 7-10 days. Now, its been well over a month since my last period and still nothing!

I haven't been taking any meds recently, and there's no chance of me being pregnant. I'm kind of scared. When I was 19 I had HPV and was one level away from cervical cancer. I've been having my PAP tests regularly. I had one in November, and the place never called me to tell me the results so I assumed it was normal. I'm just not sure what to think. I had been on meds this summer and they did mess with my period a little, but I'm not taking them now and haven't for months.

I know I should probably get to the doctor and have them check me out, but I just wanted to know what all of you think. Is there any other reason my body would be doing this?

Thanks for reading.

it could just be your body changing as you age. i'd still get it checked out to make sure nothing's wrong.

The same thing happened to me once I got older. It was probably a good 5 or 6 days, but its like my body's just gotten used to having a period and its just gotten shorter--now its 3 tops. And I think mine started when I was 11 or 12, and I'm 25 now and its probably been this way for probably the last 3 or 4 years. The one downfall though is that its a little bit heavier, and my pms has gotten pretty bad. (Think heavy cramping, back aches, mood swings like whoa, and hot flashes!) But the pms part is probably from the change in birth control pills.

There are lots of things that could cause a change in your menstruation. Like the above commenters' suggested, it could just be your body changing. Weight gain, weight loss, stress, change in exercise routine, etc. can all cause your period to act screwy. I'm going through a divorce right now, and the bleeding is completely unpredictable. I am also 22, but I have 2 kids and had a tubal ligation in June of last year, so I'm not too worried about it.

It couldn't hurt to get checked out though. :) Good luck.
