stained undies, always and forever

all my underwear are stained in and about the crotch area. i bath and i don't think my vag produces an irregular amount of goo (i also know for a fact that i don't have any kind of infection), but, all my undies seem to have at the very least a yellowish discoloration.

this is a totally different issue from period stains. it seems like my normal fluids just stain them to hell. anyone else have this problem? it's annoying, my only sex undies are dead black, other wise i feel like it'll look like i've had them on since last christmas or they're "dirty."

this may or may not be normal, i have no idea, as i've never had an opportunity to check out other chicks underwear.

Mine, too. I started wearing pantyliners religiously, except when I wear thongs. Now only my thongs are stained, which is still annoying. I know they sell pantyliners for thongs now, too (I think they're by Kotex) so I may invest in them.

i use regular pantyliners for thongs. they pretty much work the same I think. I bought the thong pantyliners for awhile, but it kind of was a complete rip off.

I normally rub some washing up liquid on the crotch them put them in the washing...or, in the case of my favourite white Wonder Woman knickers, I put some diluted bleach.

I think it is normal, because I know so many other people that get that.

Sometimes I put some detergent on 'em before throwing them in the hamper, but I find that Oxy Clean spray works even better.

Totally normal. The color discharge most women have (because we always have some kind of discharge going on, even when we're healthy) is anything from clear to whitish to yellowish. And of course brownish before or after a period.

Mine tends to be a whitish to yellowish, so of course all my panties got stained. I haven't started investing in pantyliners yet because I haven't had the money to buy new undies. When I do, though, I'll keep the old for period days and the new I'll just wear with pantyliners.

So yes, totally normal and an unfortunate aspect to having a vagina.

Just chiming in - same with me. I just dealt with it for ages but then invested in panty-liners when I first started using tampons, as a kind-of precaution against 'overflow'- and now I wear them all the time to protect my underwear.
I bought some new undies just after Christmas and I now religiously wear pantyliners with them - determined not to let them get mucky!

Yep, happens to me too. Haven't really found a good remedy, other than stocking up on loads of supercheap cotton undies and tossing them on a semi-regular basis.

I do that, too. Just replace my undies often. Make sure not to spend lots of money on fancy ones unless you're going to be wearing them for very short spurts.

Oh and also, my fiance does my laundry often, and he seems to understand that it's a natural part of being a woman. He's never commented on it and we've actually talked about spotting I've experienced because of my birth control. He's really good about not getting freaked out by it and he still thinks I'm sexy!

Some of my knickers are yellowish due to discharge or have old period stains that I didn't wash out properly initially.

They don't bother me. No-one else looks that closely at the crotch of my underwear anyway.

I get it too. It doesn't bother me. I wash them after every wear, and I replace them pretty often anyways (I buy cheap undies). My boyfriend doesn't inspect my crotch area of my undies and even if he did, it's normal so whatever :)

I'm so glad you posted this and I read the comments to know I'm not the only one. (i've had two kids so I sort of have an excuse but still!!)

All my nice undies are black now too for this exact same reason! Although I have a few black ones that are stained from an infection ugh.

I'm totally embarassed to hang out my underwear incase someone sees them and thinks I'm grotty. I wont be so embarassed now.

This has been happening to me all the time lately. I refuse to wear pantyliners because they irritate me so I end up washing and tossing a lot of underwear. I recommend getting the 6 packs of Haynes with cute prints that way you don't feel bad throwing them out.

Another woman with colored discharged here - as most others I've used pantyliners, but that resulted in itching and even infections, so I've switched to thin cotton cloth pads. Those work quite well and protect my undies wonderfully - I just have to remember to remove them when there's the chance that someone else will see them, as they're not very sexy. :)

These stains are pretty normal, and most of my underwear have them. I think all of my "nice" underwear (as in, not the period panties) have been seen by a sexual partner, and I've never heard a comment about stains or noticed any reaction to it. That being the case, it seems to me a little wasteful to use pantyliners on a daily basis. That's a lot of trash being generated over the year, so if it's really a concern, you can buy washable pantyliners from lunapads ( http://www.lunapads.com/Department.aspx?DeptID=9 ) I've never bought anything from then, but I've only heard good things.

in HS i used to take my underwear in the shower with me. soap, scrub, rinse, hang (cause if you throw it in the hamper... mildew smells yech), and add to the wash.

As others have said, it's normal. For many women, the pH of their vaginal fluids is such that it has a bleaching effect on many fabrics.

in my opinion, #1. it's totally normal. #2. who really looks at the little crotch of your panties. & #3. the whole point of undies is to catch that stuff, so wearing panty liners daily seems a little excessive!

Happens to me, too. It doesn't bother me that much because while my boyfriend DOES loook at my underwear, I would really be bothered if he started inspecting the crotch. No one looks that closely, and for me they're only really visible after I take them off and before I watch them. I've thrown undies out after they get too bad, but that's more because I bought new ones that I liked better than because I thought the old ones were wrecked.

If it bothers you that much, pantyliners, like everyone else has suggested.

so, i pay $18 for each pair of my panties (i religiously wear hanky panky lace thongs).. and this discoloration problem is a huge bitch. i thought it was just me, and have been embarassed when girls in my sorority house take my laundry out of the washer and/or dryer, for fear they have seen my stained fancy panties. i have pantyliners but am reluctant to wear them, and washing my panties out in the shower/sink is pretty difficult considering where i live... i usually put shout spray on the crotch before throwing them in the hamper, but it seems that this has bleached out even my black/dark panties.

so, in short... i haven't found a proper solution. being a girl can really blow.

I was just happy I saw this post because I've always been a little wtf? about it, but its reassuring to see so many other people have the same problem and it's perfectly normal.
My only really solution is buying cheapo underwear and then tossing them whenever it's get noticeably bad looking.

It happens to me too. I really don't care anymore, cause who ever sees it but me and the boyfriend? And he either doesn't notice (one time I wore underwear that was baby blue and I had accidentally bled all over during my previous period and stained like hell - I fretted about it being ugly and gross and he was like 'what stain?') or just doesn't care. Other people have weird stains in their underwear too, so I'm not the only one. :P
