I don't have a clitoris.
Or, it seems to be that way. A few years ago I read up on vaginas and discovered I didn't have that bit that's crucial and so important...
to desbribe further, where it should be there is a hood but nothing else... and nothing happens or shows up if I try to expose it.
I've never orgasmed, and during sex usually fake it or explain the issue to my partner... g-spot isn't working for me at this point.
I'm hoping to see a gyno soon but before I do does anyone have some kind of advice or explanation?

Hello, this is my first post here so I'm a little nervous. Everyone here seems very friendly thought so I'm going to say thank you in advance for reading this.

I just started a new birthcontrol pill a month ago. I'm now on my second pack and just started my second week.  So here is what happened. I was going to my boyfriend's brother's wedding reception. I took the pill at 5 pm because I was afraid I would forget to take it later than night at the hotel. I wound up having sex with my boyfriend that night however he didnt finish in me. The next day I had forgotten to take the pill closer to 5 and took it at around 11:30 pm. The next night I took the pill at around 1:30 am.

Now I think I might be freaking out a little, but do you think it is likely that I could have gotten pregnant? Even though he pulled out I still can't help feeling a little nervous because there was such a jump in time from when I should have taken my pills, and I know that for them to be most effective they need to be taken close to the same time.

thanks in advance.

Ok, so the subject line sums it up. I may have always had this, but I guess its been on my mind more in the past six months. During my cycle, for about a day or two I will have sporadic rectal pain. Sometimes accompanying cramps. Sometimes its a dull pain and other times its can be really intense, but they only last several seconds.

Are these oddly placed cramps? I'm wondering if other women go through this and if this is something I should be concerned about.

Has anyone out there used female condoms? My boyfriend and I were thinking of using them, but I wanted to ask around here to see if anyone had experience with them.

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

I feel really dumb asking this, but how quickly after becoming pregnant, do the sore boobs and morning sickness come?
And what does this morning sickness feel like? I've got cramping, and pain but not so much nausea..

I'm probably freaking over nothing... As far as I can remember, I've been taking my pill on time, and I use a condom every time, but my boobs are sore and I'm feeling funny.. and somethings nagging in me like.. "maybe"

I didn't know where to look to find these answers... I couldn't find my way around the PP website if I tried.. I'm really sorry if this is obvious.. It's my first post here

spotting

so - i'm taking birth control. and i forgot to take the pill one day - but took two the next (the one i missed, and the one for that day). I've been on birth control for about a year now and have never experienced spotting. However, this time i have. I was wondering how long this spotting will usually last. And is there suppose to be a lot of bleeding or very little. Any information on spotting in general would be helpful. Thank you all.

Somewhat similar question to the previous one, but I have specific concerns.

I was stupid the other night (as my friends have now told me about ten times) and had unprotected sex but he pulled out after about ten seconds. He did not come or anything. I'm aware of the STD risks, etc. I know about precum, but I don't know the statistics, and I can't find them anywhere! So my questions are:

1. (Most important) Does anyone know the statistical likelihood of getting pregnant from precum?

2. Does anyone know if doxycycline will be affected by Plan B, or the other way around? I looked on the drug interaction website, but it has no information.

3. I've been having trouble eating recently (psychological, not related to wanting to lose weight), will that put me in danger if I take Plan B?

I'm gonna take the pill before my first 24 hours are up, so I'm hoping people will respond fast, but even if it's too late, it would be nice to know the answers.

One more thing:

I live in New Zealand. They have an advice nurse service you can call here, but when I called, I swear to god the nurse told me there was nothing to worry about if the guy didn't ejaculate. She didn't know anything about precum! Anyone here from NZ? Know about any quality advice hotlines that I could use?

Hi ladies!

This is my first post, and I just joined this community after someone from [community profile] naturalliving recommended it.  I asked the ladies in naturalliving about a good day-after-sex vaginal moisturizer, since I always feel tender the day after.  Upon further examination with a mirror, I realized that what's going on with me is that my vagina tears a little every time I have sex (I have a tight vagina, and I like rough sex, as I don't get much pleasure at all out of gentle sex).  I use lubricated latex condoms and rarely feel like I need to use lubricant.  (And NO, I'm not willing to switch to a non-latex condom.)

My question is, is this normal to get tears?  Should I be concerned, or just make sure to keep it clean and put Neosporin on it to prevent infection?  I'm thinking about ordering a natural condom-safe lubricant as well.  I've tried KY's personal moisturizer, but it always burns a little.  Is there anything else I should try??  Since I'm not in a relationship, this is not a major concern yet, because I only have sex once a week at the most.  Sometimes it's more like once a month.

I have never had a yeast infection or anything like that before to my knowledge, and I get pretty regular pap smears from my doctor.  I will see my doctor if it becomes too bothersome.

Thanks in advance!!

I am on the pill. Its some generic kind because thats what my insurance will cover, but I'm happy with it. I have been on the pill since I was 14 so thats... 8 years now. Okay.

I am horrible at remembering to take my pill. Well, thats not quite true. What is more accurate is that I take my pill before bed - and that is never a set time. Some one night it can be midnight, the next night I'm out till 4. I have NEVER considered this as a reason to use backup protection and so the pill has been my only form of BC for a few years.

Am I just really lucky I've never gotten pregnant? It wouldn't even had occured me to ask this, but my coworkers are always going on about how they took their pill late and had sex and they freak out about being possibly pregnant.

I keep telling them I don't think it really matters... but I don't want to give false information. I always just assumed the every day at x o'clock was simply for legal reasons - they can't be sued if someone gets pregnant because clearly no one will take the pill at the EXACT same moment every day.

Yes, no? Maybe?

EDIT: oh, I saw the information about it in the vulvapedia. Let me rephrase the question in this way: If it takes a few months of being off the pill before your fertility returns to normal (at least those are the facts my Gyno told me) then how can varying your pill time or even skipping a pill affect your body that much that quickly?

Ok, so I'm having issues ladies. I've had this itch for a month now. Its in the perineal region of my body but is very close to the base of my vagina. I've had the gyno look at it and she says she sees nothing ... no rash, no bumps, just lots of hair. I stopped wearing thongs and started wearing cotton bikini undies but still no relief. I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this. Its not a yeast infection because its on the skin and I've had no cheesy discharge. Its not herpes or anything like that because there are no sores or scaby, scaly things around there. Its just bloody itchy! What gives? Anyone have some clues? Oh yes, and I have not been scratching it and I've been moisturizing with hypoallergenic moisturizer. Heeeelllp.

On the 30th, I forgot to take my pill but took it the next day along with my pill for that night (the 31st)... I don't have a predictable cycle AT ALL... but it's usually somewhere in between 28 and 31 days long, today would be the 30th day. I haven't had sex since my last period so I'm thinking I'm in the clear...

Has anyone's cycle (and I use that term losely) ever been thrown off, and by how many days, due to missing one day? Thanks!

I've been experiencing pain in my abdomen since new year's eve. It started out feeling like my belt was too tight and was pressing into me, but nothing I did could make the feeling go away. The pain has persisted since then feeling like a dull ache (feels a lot like menstrual cramps) or sometimes I feel sharp pains that make me double over. The worst twinges of pain are where I imagine my right ovary to be. My period was about two weeks ago, so I don't think it's because I'm about to get my period or anything like that. I know 3 days isn't a really long time, but I still am kinda concerned that I've been in pain for 3 days for a reason I can't figure out! The fact that it hurts the most in the ovary area has me worried that it could be a cyst. I don't know much about ovarian cysts (what it's supposed to feel like if you have them) except that you feel abdominal and lower back pain. I have problems with my back and it hurts a lot anyway, so I really haven't noticed anything unusual and have no way of being able to tell if it's from a cyst or just my usual pain.
I haven't spoken to my doctor yet because of the holidays, and I am calling and making an appointment tomorrow, but I was just curious if anyone had any insight or if I could gain any knowledge in the meantime.
Thanks :)

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. :)

So, here's my deal. I'm a Wednesday starter on the NuvaRing. Today I took it out to start my ring-free week.  However, I didn't take into consideration the time difference between home (and took it out a little earlier than I should have anyway), and therefore TECHNICALLY my ring wasn't in for a FULL 21 days - it was in a few hours short of that.  I'm seeing my long-distance boyfriend on Wednesday 1/16, and I know that because my last ring was in for less than a full 21 days (albeit barely), I need to have my next one in for at least 7 days prior to sexual activity until I'm fully protected again.  My question is, will I be fully protected by the 16th if I put in my Ring on Wednesday the 9th like I normally would ***, or should I put it in a day early (Tuesday the 8th) just to be safe?

***I would normally put it in at 10am central time (11am eastern time) on Wednesday the 9th, and the following Wednesday afternoon I'll be with my boyfriend.

The Short Of It: By how much would a few hours compromise my protection?

Thanks for your input everyone :)

Okay I have two questions, you ladies are always SO helpful!!!!!

1) My boyfriend and I had protected sex last night, we used a condom and he ejaculated in the condom inside of me and pulled out when he was done. I could see the condom was full of cum, it kind of looked like a balloon that was full, I thought maybe we had put it on too far down. There was no breakage or anything, just a reminder to make sure to pinch the tip and leave more air next time. We had sex again this morning and used a condom, this time when he pulled out the condom didnt look like a balloon, it was more deflated and I could clearly see the cum at the tip it just didn't look like it had the night before. He took off the condom and I know he would have noticed if it had broken. I was just a little worried, did it look less full because we had left more air at the top? I'm just super paranoid :(!

2) Because of this paranoia, I've decided I want to start hormonal birth control. I have no idea where to start or what brands are recommended, what are your personal experiences with different types of birth controls, side effects, likes, dislikes, etc.

Thank you so much ladies!!!

I was talking to a girlfriend and she confessed that she once 'passed gas' during a gyno exam. Of course we thought it was hysterical. However, at the time, she said she could have died.

Just curious...this ever happen to any of you?

Share the story!

What are some potential causes of random bleeding (not heavy) between your period?
I dont think I'm pregnant since my period ended a week ago. Havent had sex in a month. Not taking any drugs or drinking a lot. No changes in diet or medications. I'm not on birth control and never have been.
So I'm just wondering what could possibly cause light bleeding (couple of days so far).

pap-smear

Jan. 2nd, 2008 11:11 pm
[identity profile] oliviagip.livejournal.com
I am bit of a germ freak and this may be a little hypocritical of me... I had my first and last pap-smear when i was 18 and that was 3 years ago. I want to have a regular check up, but i have no insurance and receive birth control from planned parenthood. I have been to 2 different clinics and none of them seemed like a clean and comfortable environment for me. I do have a friend who works at  a planned parenthood and has reassured me that they are clean and they are clean based on their employees, which are other women who want a clean comfortable environment.  I am still unsure, maybe i need reassurance from other women because my boyfriend does not understand. Any advise or food for though would be great.

First, some background: I had the morning-after pill nine weeks ago after a possible condom failure (it didn't break or anything, we just thought there was some, um, spillage, so I got it just to be on the safe side). It worked and everything - I had a normal period, although it was very late (it finally came just over a week ago, but I did two pregnancy tests before then and they were negative).

Now my question: I've had mild abdominal pains, like period cramps, for about 4 weeks. I thought they'd go away after I finally got my period but they're still here. Is this anything to worry about? I haven't had unprotected sex in years. The only possible STD issue, aside from the incident above, is that I once (about three months ago) accidentally tried to initiate sex when the guy wasn't wearing a condom - didn't have my contacts in and couldn't see! There was no actual penetration but his penis was in contact with my vulva for a few seconds. So I suppose it's theoretically possible I could have caught something that way... Otherwise I don't know what it could be. Does this sound like something I should get checked out? Is it maybe just a side-effect of the EC?
