Is it possible for chlamydia to reccur?

I posted in here about a month ago, about having had chlamydia for six months or so, and finally being treated for it. My boyfriend and I were both treated and our symptoms cleared up just fine.

Well, two weeks later, and my symptoms are coming back, but his aren't. My discharge, normally milky white, is clumpy white to the eye, and appears yellow when smeared on something white [toilet paper, towel, etc.] and that was what was happening the weeks leading up to my diagnosis.

I've read somewhere that Chlamydia can reccur. I'm really terrified of that, because if this is a permanent thing, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm making an appt. with my gyno asap.

Here is the last post if anyone wants to read: here

Help?

So I went to the ER tonight, after getting NO help from my PCP. After a brutal, horrid, pelvic exam and a urine test they told me I had a bacterial, yeast, AND bladder/kidney infection. Somehow I really pissed off my vagina! This has been going on, getting worse, for two weeks. My PCP gave me diflucan, no help. Then gave me flagyl, no help. So I went to the ER. I was so nauseaus I was getting dizzy and falling. Feverish. All that good stuff. And like I said, my PCP...well...sucks.

So I guess my question here is: How in the heck did I manage to get THREE infections all at once? And why are they so resistant to the medicine?

I'm sexually active, but we are both sti-neg. I bathe regularly, with no soap or chemicals near my vag. I just don't get it.

Also, anything anyone can recommend to help me get through this? Cranberry juice makes me vomit. :\ Anything I can pick up at the store OTC? I was sent home with TONS of medicine at the ER, but I'm looking for something to help soothe the soreness and itch while the medicine gets in there and does it's business. I did read the VP website, but I just want to make sure I'm not going to screw up my medicine by using something OTC..

TIA!

So I stupidly (accidentally!) left a tampon in for five days, for almost my entire period. I discovered it today and removed it. Disgusting, stinky, etc. I called a nurse and I don't have a fever or a rash or any weird discharge, so I'm not terribly worried about TSS.

However! That revolting rotten blood stench is still lingering. What is a healthy way to go about getting rid of this? Or will it go away on its own? Do I have anything else to worry about? And -- primary question, really -- have any of you had this problem before? And were there any complications?

Thanks!

Hello. I'm a long time lurker, but I've never actually posted.

Anyway, I've been on Yasmin birth control for about 4 years now, and this is the first time I've ever experienced bleeding in-between periods. I've always been pretty good about taking the pill. I was having sex with my boyfriend, without a condom, and he noticed my vagina bleeding about 10 minutes into having sex (doggy style). My boyfriend and I only use condoms about half the time, but when he doesn't use condoms he pulls out and has never cum inside me. The bleeding just occurred not even 24 hours ago, and there wasn't a very large amount of blood. It seemed like a lot of blood at first, but turned into spotting really quickly... and completely stopped a few hours later. Oh, and my last period was about 2 weeks ago.

Also, I've been experiencing some breast tenderness for the past few days, but I didn't really think anything of it. I don't think I've ever experienced breast tenderness this far before my period though.

I'm just wondering if I should be concerned and what could be the problem? Is there a need to be worried about pregnancy? Should I just contact my gyno? I was also wondering how much stress can play a role in causing things like breast tenderness and or spotting? I figured I'd ask for some advice before I start freaking out too much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Uh, this is probably a very dumb question, but is there any way to make my period shorter while I'm on it? Like, to make it be not so many days.

So I think I can officially say that Essure is awesome.

I was told not to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before - no water, even. By the time we got to the hospital in the morning, my mouth was really dry. This was the worst part of the actual procedure!

I wanted to provide a detailed account for anyone who is thinking about getting Essure. I can so far say that this has been a wholly positive experience, and if you're thinking about permanent sterilization - Essure is the way to go! Comments and questions are welcome.

Yesterday was my very first time at the gyno. I have to say the moment I walked in and was greeted by the very nice and friendly staff really made me feel less nervous and more comfortable. The office was huge with comfortable chairs and couches. I noticed so many phone calls were being made and one of the girls was mentioning how my gyno was booked till November for annuals, that made me think that hey she must be real good.

I finally went in made a urine sample, checked my weight, blood pressure. Then I had to go in the room undress and sit there for about 15 minutes axinously waiting for her to come in. She comes in and she is seriously the nicest, most compassionate doctor I've ever met! She knew it was my first time and explained everything to me. I mentioned how I had blood work done 4 years ago claiming I had PCOS and showed her the papers and to my much relief she said the results didn't state I had PCOS, but I do have a high level of testosterone which could either be from my ovary or Adreliane Glands. So I was put on the pill for that for also pregnancy protection.

The exam itself was quick and easy. The metal thing she puts in you to spread you open hurt for a few seconds and I actually jumped! The pap smear took a few seconds and then she did the physical. In all it took about 5 minutes. She then talked to me some more and that was it.

I was like, "Geez I got worked up for something so simple and easy!"

I just started taking HBC (Yasmin to be exact) a little over a week ago. It's been fine except for two things that I'm not sure about (whether or not they're linked to the pill).

1. My vulva/vaginal area's been VERY dry lately, to the point that it hurts to pee, can't wipe, can't touch without pain. Which is even worse because it's ITCHY. I've never had this problem before, and the only change that's happened in the past two weeks is that I started the pill. The only other thing I can think of, is that the tampons I used while I had my period last week (Tampax Pearl, Super) are having some sort of lingering effect...

2. My period finished Saturday night, and yesterday I started getting this odd brown discharge, that looks almost like old blood. I've never had this before, and I've been getting my period for over 10 years now. It smells REALLY bad (almost garbage-like), and it's starting to scare me, since it DOES look a lot like blood, except it's too dark and smells completely wrong.

Any ideas about either one?

Okay, I have a bunch of relatives coming to my house today to use my pool, I feel like I should be going in too since I'll be the only one home here. Thing is, I don't have any more tampons left..I just have pads, I found some thin ones that when I put into the pool, they didn't fill up with water too too much, would it be okay to swim with those, then come in after so often to check on it and change? I just started my period late last night / early morning today. Is this a good idea,or should I just not even try?

Thanks :)

[livejournal.com profile] 60mph inspired an odd question.

occasionally, i'll get a weird, sharp, slightly painful twangy feeling in my armpit, and i'll get an echo of that sensation in my girlbits (random locations, but always in the girlbits).

i wonder if there's a connection to these two areas, and if anyone else has noticed a similar connection?

first off - i have the angry for a reason blog bookmarked.

My friend is a military spouse currently stationed in Germany. They want to have thier first child together and her first child period (he has 2 from a previous relationship, one of which they have custody of).
She went off HBC in April of 06 and has not had a period since. She had them the whole time she was on HBC. The military doctors said they wouldn't discuss fertility problems with her until it had been at least a year since going off HBC.
Now her doctor is telling her that she has no estrogen in her system at all and it's because she is diabetic from polycystic ovaries (which she NEVER was diagnosed with before). The doctor gave her stuff to "check her blood levels"and pushed her out the door, without explaining how to do that.

She has to wait til Sept. to get another doctor. In the meantime (and while she is pushing charges on this woman) is there anything she can to to help bring her levels back in check? Can PCOS really cause diabetes (I have it and have never been told that)?

Anything I am forgetting? Anywhere else I can look?

Thanks in advance!

So, I was hooking up with a guy last night and he was really forceful with thrusting his penis in and out of my mouth while I was giving head, which is why it didn't last for long [not long enough for him to come], and then I noticed this morning that that little piece of skin connecting your upper lip to the area right above your teeth hurts, and it feels like a cut. Is it possible that I got this cut from his extremely hard thrusting? Or should I be worried?

Thanks!

I've been taking HBC for months and don't think I missed a pill this pack, but my period is a day late and I'm a little worried. I am looking into using parsley tea to induce my period, and I was wondering if it was safe to try since I'm using birth control and am on my placebo week currently.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Alright, so I filled my Diva cup to overflow point four times in one twenty four hour period and my period is still going heavy. I'm nauseated and very light headed. I look online and it says that I should head to a doctor ASAP. So I do.
The doctor said the only thing even worth considering was a hormone irregularity and I should take Birth Control. When I mentioned that I wasn't interested in hormonal birth control due to a bad experience he basically said then there wasn't anything he could do for me and had a nurse test for anemia. Which isn't an issue btw.

I think he's full of it and I'm really worried. I also don't think I should have to take birth control pills in order to not feel like I'm being hit by a car over and over again during my periods.

advice? guesses as to cause? words of comfort :(? I feel like a huge idiot.

Hi ladies. I've been having an issue and I wonder if you can help me.

For about the past week and a half, off and on I've had an itchy vulva and some vaginal dryness. It's usually worst at the end of the day and generally not too bad in the morning. There isn't any unusual discharge or smell and I'm feeling fine otherwise. I don't think it's a YI because I've had them before and this isn't the same. Whatever it is, it's driving me nuts because I don't want to have sex until this is fixed, but I don't know what's causing it!

I've got a couple of thoughts about what might be affecting me: I've been going to the gym more often lately, I've been a little stressed out, it's been a super hot summer so far, my period is due in a couple of days, and the last time I had sex (which was about a week and a half ago, the same time that the itching started) I used Astroglide, which I normally don't do.

I wear only cotton panties and I've been washing externally twice daily with the Summer's Eve wash for sensitive skin. I can't go to the GYN right now because I won't have health coverage until the first of August.

So does anyone know what's causing this? Do you have any advice?

hi ladies - sorry for the bunch of posts, i'm having a really bad month in the lady parts department :(

i was looking at my vagina in the mirror the other day because i had noticed some discomfort and pressure in the pubic area in general, and saw that both my inner lips (labia minor?) were super swollen and it is definitely kind of painful and uncomfortable to wipe after i pee.

ok, a little TMI coming up, sorry!

i was looking, and noticed some thicker white discharge (which could be a yeast infection - although i've had one before and that time it itched really bad, this time no itching) that was on the dry, sticky side. then two seconds later, it felt like water was leaking from my vagina, and the discharge and my vaginal opening became all watery and wet, thus making the discharge more watery itself. i've noticed in the past few weeks a wetness in my vagina/discharge that i've never had before. i'll see a wetspot in my underwear when i go to pee, like as if i had leaked a little pee, mixed with discharge stuff. my discharge has never been watery before, moist, but not watery.

i haven't had any pain during urination, urgency to pee, so i'm not sure if this is attributed to a yeast infection, uti, or maybe some other infection.

some changes lately have been stress, went off the pill a couple weeks ago, and had some dehydration issues a while ago where i wasn't drinking enough and had really dark or cloudy urine, but started drinking more water and urine looks normal again.

thanks for your help everyone! i really appreciate it. i don't have insurance, so it'll be a while before i can see a doctor or find a clinic :(

My boyfriend and I often take showers together, but he would like to take a warm, soapy bubble bath with me, and I am all for the idea. Unfortunately, I am very prone to yeast infections, and I know that baths sometimes cause them. Are there any soaps that are vagina friendly, or should he and I just stick to taking showers?

i know everyone's body reacts differently when trying to skip their period but i need some feedback on what happened to them. i regret trying to skip it because i thought it was working at first but i basically got my period anyway, even though it's mostly brownish breakthrough discharge. to get this to stop, do i just let my body have a period by not taking the rest of my pack? i have no idea what to do. i'm so upset i did this because i'm going to the bahamas august 5th and i don't know how long this is going to last and it's upsetting because now all i did was make it so that by the time my pack ends and i'm supposed to get my period, i get it EXACTLY when i go on vacation. i'm such an idiottt. :o(

I posted yesterday about my itchiness down south. I took Monistat...hoping it would work. The itchiness stopped...but I have a burning sensation now and I'm bleeding for some reason. (Not that time of the month.) It's not a dark red color either. It's almost like a light pink color. It's not gushing out...but it's worrying me.

I don't have health insurance right now...and I don't want to go to the doctor/gyno's until something major happens.

What could be the problem? :'(

Ok, this is bit of a silly quesiton but it never occurred to me before. I'm thinking of getting myself a pair of Smartballs but I'm also using NuvaRing. Do those two get along ok or would I have to use my balls only when I don't have my ring on? ^^; I know the ring is fine when you have sex and all, but I don't know... It feels odd especially if I'm keeping the balls in for longer periods of time. Does anybody have any experience from this kind of situation? Does the ring get pushed far or can it slip out or something? Does it bother the use of the balls?

I'm starting to feel like my vagina is turning into a storage box of sorts... Tampons, NuvaRings, Mooncups, penises, Smartballs...  At least I don't have to use them all at the same time!

I just recently had my first Ob/Gyn appointment and received samples of Seasonique.

I'm about to be married and will be moving out of the country for a good two/three years in October.

My doctor told me about a form of birth control [IUD] that would probably be good for me, with me traveling and being so far from home. After hearing her opinion on this, it made me consider the thought of that form instead of just the pill.

My soon-to-be-hubby and I definitely aren't planning on having kids anytime soon, and I understand that once it's inserted, it's good for five years and not recommended to be removed before then.

Has anyone used this form of birth control? I'm curious to learn more about it from women who have actually been on it and can tell me the ups and downs first hand.

Thanks! :]

Is anyone else really uncomfortable with how their vagina looks, specifically the mons pubis? I've always felt that mine was grossly out of proportion to my body, and it seems a lot larger compared to what I've seen on other women. I originally thought it was because I was overweight (I weighed 180 lbs at age 16), but I made a major lifestyle change and lost 40 lbs. I've lost a lot of inches around my waist, my tummy is a lot more flat, but I didn't notice any change in my mons pubis. I was sorely disappointed. :( Now I feel even more out of proportion!

Anyone else have self image issues like this?
