Hi ladies. I've been having an issue and I wonder if you can help me.

For about the past week and a half, off and on I've had an itchy vulva and some vaginal dryness. It's usually worst at the end of the day and generally not too bad in the morning. There isn't any unusual discharge or smell and I'm feeling fine otherwise. I don't think it's a YI because I've had them before and this isn't the same. Whatever it is, it's driving me nuts because I don't want to have sex until this is fixed, but I don't know what's causing it!

I've got a couple of thoughts about what might be affecting me: I've been going to the gym more often lately, I've been a little stressed out, it's been a super hot summer so far, my period is due in a couple of days, and the last time I had sex (which was about a week and a half ago, the same time that the itching started) I used Astroglide, which I normally don't do.

I wear only cotton panties and I've been washing externally twice daily with the Summer's Eve wash for sensitive skin. I can't go to the GYN right now because I won't have health coverage until the first of August.

So does anyone know what's causing this? Do you have any advice?

I think it's fairly common for itching to occur before your period and during hot weather. I'd avoid the Summer's Eve Wash and stick to plain water.

I wouldn't use the summer's eve wash twice per day, but I use it all the time and have had no problems with it. I think you're fine using the summer's eve. It's soap free, and if you use it at the end of your shower, it can help to get any smelly bad for vagina soap off of your vulva.
Could still be a YI, cause the symptoms can vary from time to time. Could be the astroglide irritated your skin. Could be your period. If it does end up being a YI, I've heard your period can help wipe it out anyway.
I'd go to your local healthstore, I like super supplements, and get some natural lube. I've found that's the best for me to use. Mine's Emerita, it's great.

I would suggest even just toning down to using the Summer's Eve ONCE a day, to see if that helps. I know washing any part of the body too much can dry you out/cause the itches.

Maybe try that for a couple days, and if it doesn't make a difference, try not using it at all.
