My boyfriend and I often take showers together, but he would like to take a warm, soapy bubble bath with me, and I am all for the idea. Unfortunately, I am very prone to yeast infections, and I know that baths sometimes cause them. Are there any soaps that are vagina friendly, or should he and I just stick to taking showers?

If she put it in a different bottle, he wouldn't have to know.

I love bubble baths, and I too am prone to YIs. There's a preventative measure that I've found is very helpful 9 times out of 10 in preventing the bath from giving me an infection.

After my bath, I mix about 2 tablespoons or so (I usually eyeball it) of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution (the stuff you can get at any supermarket) into about 20 oz or so (also usually eyeballed) of warmish water. Then I lie in the (now drained) bath and pour it over my vulva, concentrating on getting some of it inside and around the entrance to my vagina.

The act of rinsing in itself helps wash away the last of the soap, and the hydrogen peroxide kills yeast. My understanding is that our vaginas produce their own hydrogen peroxide, and it is one of the things that keeps the natural yeast in check. Feeding the yeast with soap can cause the yeast 'population' to grow out of control, as I'm sure you know, so adding a little more h2o2 helps keep the balance. :)

As long as I keep the ratios similar to what I outlined above, I've never had a problem with it stinging or hurting at all, but depending on your sensitivity your mileage may vary.

Good luck! I hope this helps. :D
