Hello everyone!

I have a problem with thunder thighs... mainly that i have them. This usually isn't a problem, as i live in pajama pants or jeans (which merely wear out the soonest between the legs, as they rub together quite often.) It never really bothered me.

But recently, I came home from school and went back to my old job, which has changed our uniform from Dickies to...a skirt and fishnets. (classy, I know.) After working a shift tonight, my thighs were sore, and i figured it was just a bit of irritation that I can deal with. But after getting home, i noticed that the insides of my thighs are rubbing together so much, that they are beginning to bleed. (I'm assuming the friction of leg-fishnets-leg is what's doing it.)

So... short of bandaging up my legs or wearing shorts (which would show a bulge under a too-tight skirt), is there any way to chafe less? Preferably cheap and easy, as Mr. Piggy Bank is waiting for me to bring home the bacon.

Thank you!

Here's the deal: I started OrthoEvra (the patch) on a random day, probably about a week before my period was expected. This was about two months ago. Is it okay to discontinue the use of the patch at anytime (say, if my patch-change day is Wednesday, I would just not put on another one this upcoming Wednesday), or should I try to time it for when I think my period would be coming? Or does it not matter?

Also, a completely different question: for the last few days, my nipples have been hurting if I touch them. My bra doesn't hurt them, and they don't hurt on their own, but if I touch them, they hurt. Why would this be? I've also been really tired and my stomach has been upset, but I'm on birth control so I'm not worried about pregnancy...

Thanks!

Hello my wise friends! :)

I have a question on the consistency of periods. When I say consistency I mean how watery or thick.  This is my second period off of birth control. Third if you count the one at the end of the pill pack. Last month was right on time, but I was going through twice the amount of tampons! My flow prior to HBC was usually light to medium and had clots/ lining. On HBC is was usually light to light/medium. I would have some consistency (thickness), but no major clotting.  This period is beginning the same as last month. Its on time, but its so thin! Its bright, bright red and watery. No clots, nothing resembling any other period I've had.  What is going on? It seems like I am just bleeding fresh. There hasn't been any brownish, "old-blood" coloration. Should I be worried? I guess since the timing of my periods has been exactly how it has always been (28 days on or off HBC) I'm surprised by this.  Also, I was on HBC to help with migraines. Last month no headaches. This month I got nasty nausea in the morning yesterday and today. Today I feel the edges of a migraine coming on.  Im hoping the migraine will decide not to stay.
Oh and for reference, I am not on any type of HBC, just barrier methods for now. I thought my body was adjusted after how smoothly last month seemed.  Was I being silly to think that since I was on HBC for 6 years?

Thanks for your help!

'Ello! I have quite a few questions to ask, icluding stories, of varying and random topics, just things I have been wondering about lately and decided to consult you lovely ladies!

this makes it easier n_n )

okay, i've read the memories about smegma and all, but i'm wondering about the stuff that's more in the folds than up top. tiny white chunks of junk, smells like vag, looks like bits of wet paper. my thinking is that it's junk from tp. it wipes off easily enough with water or a baby wipe, and it's not such a huge deal to run to the bathroom for a quick cleanup if i'm expecting to get frisky, but i wondered if it's at all preventable? if it is from tp, i guess i can't do much, i don't think, since i can't really tell them at work to get a different paper so i don't get junk in my hoo... but i wanted to raise the topic and hear from others about it. i may just never have noticed before, but i feel like it's only recently that it's been present. is this really common?

edit - thanks, ladies! i'll start experimenting with a different tp and see if it makes a diff. if not, oh well!

hi!

I'm asking this on behalf of my friend, who is getting married on saturday.

she has been on seasonale for...oh, two months? maybe less. not sure.

anyway, she said she has had a month-long period. and it's still coming, with no signs of stopping.

she called her gyno, who said to take two pills a day for the next five days. she did, the bleeding hasn't stopped.

now she wants to switch to another kind of birth control, like otc-lo, before the wedding.

like, she wants to start it today. and she wants it to stop the bleeding between now and saturday (for the honeymoon and all).

I personally don't think that will be good for her. to go from the doses of seasonale (especially since she's been doubling her pills for almost a week) to switch to a competely different brand which will probably ALSO have different dosages. it just seems like that wouldn't work. maybe I'm wrong.

anyway, she called the gyno back and they told her she might just have to use backup on saturday, which she violently DOESN'T want to do, so she said her other option is to just go off of birth control altogether and "risk" it (aka: no backup and no birth control) over the honeymoon (which I STRONGLY advised her not to do!)

do you guys have any other suggestions? I didn't really know what to tell her and she's freaking out and it doesn't seem like the gyno is being much help. I'm not sure there's much she can do at this point. but I'm no doctor, either.

I have a silly question. I think.

What colors are vaginas? I've never looked at mine before. When I did just now, it was darkish purplish. I have never seen or heard of a purple vagina before, so I'm kind of worried about my health... specifically, it's like a dusky mix of purpleish, bluish, almost red. Like a bruise. Except this is my entire vagina, vulva and everything. It sort of reminds me of a body part that had been cut off from circulation for a long time...

I'm kind of worried.

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend. She started HBC for the first time this past Sunday, which (der) makes her a Sunday start. However, this wasn't the first Sunday after her period. In fact, it was the Sunday that she was supposed to get her period, apparently, because she got it that night. Normal, right? The HBC wasn't in her system long enough to ward off her period, right? Would this possibly make her a first-day start?

i'm sure this has been gone over before but i'm asking again....

so i notice i have a relatively strong smell from my privates area. i wash thoroughly and frequently, i don't use any weird soaps, i don't have any disorders or anything that i know of. i've been on the nuvaring for about 6 months but that hasn't seem to change anything.

anyone else have a strong smell? how do you deal with it? because i can wear pants/bottoms like twice before i have to wash them and it's irritating.....

thanks!

I often itch after clitoral stimulation, be it oral sex or toy use. When it's toy use, we use a ton of lube, and when it's oral sex, there seems to be plenty of saliva. The next day, it drives me crazy with the itching. Any way to prevent this?

My period is 6 days late. The latest I've ever been in the past is 3 days late. This is the first month I have come off my birth control pill, Tri-Sprintec. I had sex a lot in this past month, using Trojan Magnum condoms with no issues - however, he did insert himself into me occasionally without a condom post-ejaculation. Other factors: I just last Friday moved out of my freshman dorm and came home for the summer - change of location. Also, I've been very stressed on account of the change/being 6 hours from my boyfriend/etc.
Should I be concerned?

I'm 15, almost 16, and haven't really started my period yet. I've had it like 2 or 3 times all my life.
I saw my doctor like 6 months ago, and she said if I gained 15-20 pounds then I'd get it and boobs.
(Right now I'm barely an A)
My doctor has been trying to get my mom to make me gain weight since I was 10, so I don't really want to listen to her. :]
Is it that unhealthy to not have your period? And if I gain 20 pounds, is it garunteed I'll get bigger boobs?
Being skinny and periodless sounds pretty good to me.
[ ps. i don't have an eating disorder or anything. i'm just normally like this.]

Hellooo! So I have a question about a picture I saw today on the [livejournal.com profile] ljsecret community. It's a picture of a vagina, and to be honest, I'm a bit confused by it. I'm going to give a link because I have a shared computer, so I don't particularly want to save the picture. Here's the link to the community: *Not* safe for work! and it is secret number 58. So my question is, what is that fleshy bit in the middle? I would say labia, but it seems to be coming straight from the middle...so then I don't really know what else it could be. I've heard of people having clitorises where they thought it was a penis because it was large, but is that what it is?

Sorry if I seem really ignorant, but I'm just really confused and curious.

I checked the tags, but I didn't find anything that exactly answered my question. Recently, I've noticed that I've been having a lot more vaginal discharge and a much stronger smell. (I can smell myself whenever I'm sitting.) I'm certian I don't have an infection, because the discharge is clear and the smell isn't bad. It's just ... muskier. My diet hasn't changed much, either.

I have been off of birth control for over a year, and my husband and I are TTC. I'm going to take a pregnancy test in the morning, but other than that, is there another reason why this would change?

I often use a product marketed for 'back massaging' as a masturbation tool. It sometimes gets a little warm if its running for more than 10 minutes so I turn it off and let it cool down. A few minutes ago I wasn't paying attention, and maybe the vibrating made my skin numb, but i just discovered a weird burning and on my vulva the skin is coming off along with what looks like a scrape? The massager didn't feel hot at all while I was using it, but now this sore type thing started to appear. How should I treat it? Anything that could stop the pain would be great. I'm going to be on my feet for 10 hours tomorrow and having my underwear rubbing on this is going to make me want to die. This entire incident should be in some kind of teen movie and not happen to me. Ugh.
