I hate the fact that after I masturbate, my hand often smells like it, even after washing. I can be a very private person, so having my hand smell like I was just masterbating gets on my nerves... But no matter what I do, I can't get the smell off of my hand! Any tips?

HI! I looked around, but I couldn't find quite what I needed, so I figured I'd ask and hope for the best. It's kind of driving me nuts at this point, particularly the itchiness.

I have had an itchy vagina for as long as I can remember. It's not inside the vagina itself, but the general area around it. Usually it's a really horrible itching, not really painful but just... well, itchy and ridiculously annoying, particularly when it happens at work or in other social situations and I just have to ignore it. I looked at all the information for a yeast infection and I really don't think I have one. My discharge is pretty normal, and I've had the itching since I was twelve or so. I even got treated for a yeast infection at one point but it did nothing.

And it may be related or not, but I've had sex twice now (though very far apart.) and I always find it rather painful and not at all stimulating. This is probably normal for a near virgin, but my problem is that even putting MY finger up there is really painful (much less my boyfriend's thicker fingers, we haven't tried actual penetration yet, but he likes to finger and my reaction is always OUCH), and my first pap really hurt due to the speculum. I tried to tell my gynocologist but she wouldn't really listen, telling me I wasn't feeling pain, just discomfort, but no, it was pain. In general, even when I'm trying to masturbate, I really don't feel anything unless I put my finger inside my vagina and then it's painful.

The next part may be triggering to people who've experienced sexual abuse )

Thank you for reading this, much less answering. :) I'm kind of ignorant, for a 22 year old girl.

So, tonight I got to thinking about pregnancy while on the pill. My friend recently became pregnant while on Orth-tricyclen lo and I was pondering how this ocurred.
So, if it tricks your body into thinking you are pregnant so it does not actually release the egg from the ovary to be fertilized then how the hell could one become pregnant while taking the pill each day? You get an hour off and your body is like, "HELL YEAH! RELEASE THE EGG BEFORE SHE DOWNS THAT PILL!!!" I mean...in one hour, let's say, your body kicks into gear, starts up the ole ovaries, and shoots an egg out?
My sister has gotten pregnant twice while on the pill (Ortho tri-cyclen & the lo dose too) and once while on the depo shot. I just don't quite understand. Does your body say, "Screw you hormones, we're releasing one anyway this month!" or what? I just don't get it.

I've been trying to find this but nobody asks about this I guess...or maybe I'm just a terrible researcher.

Okay...what about this...
Can you get pregnant while on your period? If so, how does this work? When I was younger and first learning about sex and that jazz I remember them strictly saying you could get pregnant while on your period. HOWEVER, if your body is flushing itself how does a fertilized egg attach to your uterine wall? Wouldn't it just come out with the rest of it? Is it some sort of super egg?

Hm...

Does anyone have any experience with these reusable baby-sock tampons?  I found the link in the memories, but I wasn't sure if anyone had tried it:

http://www.borntolove.com/frugal-column1.html

Also, I just found out about these Beppy Action tampons - they're like sea sponge tampons, only synthetic, and they're single-use.  You can use them during intercourse (I'm weaning myself off of Insteads because I'm getting an IUD soon).  They're a similar concept to those Gynotex tampons, but those aren't available in the US.  Has anyone seen these in the US, or know of a company that ships them to the US?:

One last question:  What sort of detergent do you ladies use to wash cloth pads?  I know it's best to use a gentle detergent that's hypoallergenic.  Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

hi.

I have an appointment with my local clinic to have a pap done on Monday, and wouldn't you know it, I started my period this past Thursday.

It should be nearly over, but I may not be quite done by Monday, and I was wondering if they will still do my exam?

The clinic is booked for months, I scheduled this appointment at the end of October, so rescheduling isn't really an option (I'm in desperate need for BC).

I'm going to call ahead on Monday morning and ask, but I was just wondering if I should be prepared for them to tell me they won't do it. =\

Hi Ladies!
I was just wondering if there were other girls out there that think masturbation is a boring waste of time and energy? My ex just couldn't get over me telling him that, haha.  I love sex bcause it's interactive and stuff, but before I'd go and masturbate I'd rather read a book or watch a movie or sleep. Is it because sex is a mental thing for me and on my own I don't get enough stimuli? Also, I don't feel bad about it. I don't want or need to get off. I don't even know if I ever have during sex. Low sex drive?
The one thing I do do is pressing my legs together tight until there is some kind of "release". I've been doing so since I was a little girl and only during puberty it's become something sexual, but most of the time it still isn't. It's more of a release of pressure and nervousness, for example I'll do it when I'm writing a paper which is due very soon (no, it doesn't help getting that paper done any faster). And it's not exactly a pleasant feeling, more like I have to pee really bad, but then I'm relaxed.
If you know the comic Ghost World, do you remember scene where Enid tries to masturbate to fantasies about her teacher, it doesn't work and then she just falls asleep? Exactly.

Is there a general trend of how your periods change throughout your life?

I started my period when I was 11 and for years had severe endometriosis-like symptoms. My mom was diagnosed with endo, so it's possible I have it too, although I was told by a doctor that I just have a "bad cycle." When I went on the pill, the pain lessened but was still present, and when I got off the pill after 6 months they got slightly worse again but not to the original intensity. Now I'm 19, and for the last 3 cycles I've barely noticed my period. Hardly any cramps, I can eat whatever I want (not just ginger ale and plain crackers) without throwing up, and a really light flow. It's such a bizarre concept to me to be able to live my life normally while I'm on my period. Still, it's such a drastic change; I almost feel like I'm beginning amenorrhea. This month I had no symptoms and the flow lasted for one day. What could be the reason for this change? Is it just the normal process of growing up? I haven't lost or gained weight, I'm not sexually active, I haven't started any new medications, and there have been no major changes in my life.

I know that if you have a yeast infection you shouldn't have sex, because you can give it to your partner and he can give it back to you. But is this still true if you are using condoms?
[identity profile] gaylimpic-ebisu.livejournal.com

If a condom leaves a red indentation around the base when it's removed, does that mean it's too tight? My boyfriend says they're a bit uncomfortable for him. This is his first time having sex, and he's been lasting way over an hour each time. In theory, that's great for me but at the same time my vagina gets a little tired after so long. He's had to just get himself off afterwards because I'm too orgasmed-out to let him try more. Could the condoms be preventing him from coming if they're too tight? We're using standard lubricated trojans, if that makes any difference.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi! Not sure if anyone's encountered this issue around here, but here goes! So I probably should have mentioned something about my being on the nuvaring before my new partner accidentally "found" it inside of me with his fingers last night. He kind of did a double-take and went "whoa - ho - ho! what's that?!?" and it was a bit of a mood-killer to say the least! Even after explaining it to him and answering many many questions, he's still a little weirded out by it, I think. I guess I'm wondering if there are any other girls out here who are dating guys who are just a little creeped out by the whole idea of the ring, and if so - how long did it take for them to become more comfortable with this? It's a pretty new relationship, and he is a bit younger and less *experienced* sexually than I am.

I absolutely love the ring, and it works incredibly well for me and my body, and I would never consider switching methods *only* because someone else is disgusted by the idea of the ring - though a part of me is a bit angry for feeling a need to justify my choosing this method over the pill to him - though that's seperate from the need to explain the practicalities of the ring to him, of course.

I've only had one other serious partner before, an ex-boyfriend of six years - who was completely comfortable with my using the ring - so this is definitely something I had never thought of before. Maybe that's why I completely forgot to mention it last night! Thoughts, girls?

Hi, My name is Ashley. I have a couple of questions. First of all, i have very irregular periods (they come once every 3-4 months). My fiance and i have been trying to concieve for a while now, and we read online that there may be a possibility to use herbal vitamins as a "helping hand" so to speak. After doing some research on these vitamins i went and purhcased Red Clover, and Evening Primrose Capsules.

I dont really think my family doctor will help me with this subject, hes very harsh, and rude to everyone in my family that sees him. I've already asked him to refer me to a doctor to help me with these things, but he seems to think that since he is my family doctor i dont need to see anyone else.

Does anyone on here have anything good to say about these vitamins? Would you recommend that i try something else? anything anyone can tell me about stregnthining my chances of concieveing?

Hi, ladies. I'm having trouble googling this one.

Is it possible to have a breast augmentation done with the fat removed via liposuction? I think I would feel more confidant if I had slightly larger breasts (not to mention clothes shopping would be a little easier), but I don't like the idea of silicone & saline. TIA!

Ok. This is my first post ever and I was hoping you guys could help.
I am 17, 18 in a few months. I have been having sex for about 15 months. I've only ever had one partner and he is my current partner. My problem however, is that sex still hurts for me! I know it is not a matter of too little foreplay, or not enough lubrication. I just think I might be too small? If anybody has any suggestions at all, as to why, after so long, it still hurts, please. haha, I am dying for an explanation. Thank you all for your help!
