Does anyone have any experience with these reusable baby-sock tampons?  I found the link in the memories, but I wasn't sure if anyone had tried it:

Also, I just found out about these Beppy Action tampons - they're like sea sponge tampons, only synthetic, and they're single-use.  You can use them during intercourse (I'm weaning myself off of Insteads because I'm getting an IUD soon).  They're a similar concept to those Gynotex tampons, but those aren't available in the US.  Has anyone seen these in the US, or know of a company that ships them to the US?:

One last question:  What sort of detergent do you ladies use to wash cloth pads?  I know it's best to use a gentle detergent that's hypoallergenic.  Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I pitch mine into the hamper (without rinsing even) and then just wash them with our regular detergent, which is generally 7th Generation powder. When I have a baby in cloth diapers I wash them with diapers, when I don't wash them with the regular wash.

I havent tried the baby sock but it sounds interesting! I cant use tampons right now (I'm postpartum) but once my period comes back I'll have to give that a go. :)

mmm, and when i use(d) cloth pads, i soaked them in peroxide and then washed them with my regular detergent, often in the regular wash. i use "method"--target's natural detergent line. i use the dye- and frangrance-free version.

(or i DID..i'm in the netherlands here, and IDK WTF detergent i bought because i can't read dutch very well. but period-free on mirena, so ehhh...just my clothes in it)

I found this

It looks like they're sold in the US, and it looks like a great product. I am going to buy some and try them out.

I like Arm&Hammer, there's a sensitive skin version that is awesome. (Because just regular arm&Hammer makes me ITCH, and any other detergent I've tried doesn't get the stains out!)

I dont do laundry enough to throw my cloth pads in the wash so i soak them in a bucket with baking soda and Dr Bronner's soap, then wash them by hand in the sink with Dr Bronner's works great, takes out the stains.

I was also wondering about the baby sock thing!

Have you thought about using a reuseable cup instead of Insteads? A lot of people do so successfully, though you have to be careful with removal...

Thanks for those links. I've been wanting to start using alternative methods of menstrual care, and the baby sock one looks really easy. Thanks!
