Well, Since this is only my second time posting on here ( i think?) i want to say thank you all for answering my question.

but i have yet another one.

When you girls have sex does it feel like a dry rubbing sensation kind of? because whenever me and my boyfriend have sex it usually hurts and he puts his dick like in me to the end and starts thrusting me and it hurts my butt, it feels good for him....are we doing this whole sex thing wrong? and the position we are in, it kind of HURTS.

do you all know what this could be

My boyfriend hasn't gone down on me in about 2 years. In the beginning of our relationship he tried it a few times and it felt really great for me, but ever since then he refuses saying "another time". When I ask why, he simply says "I just don't feel like it". Of course I've wondered if it's my smell, taste, look, etc, but he says that it has nothing to do with me, he just has to be in the mood. Since he hasn't been in the mood in 2 years, I told him that he should just admit that he doesn't want to do it at all rather than giving me false hope by saying that he'll do it another time.

I used to give him oral because that was the quickest way of getting him hard and he enjoyed it, but after he stopped going down on me, I stopped going down on him and it doesn't seem to phase him.

What's so frustrating is that I frequently hear of women complaining that their partner's want to go down on them, but they don't enjoy it and I have the opposite problem! Also, I have a pretty big sex drive, always have, but due to my boyfriend's long work hours, we hardly have sex because he's too tired.

What gets me is that there's not much that can be done about it. He works two jobs to support us while I only work one. He feels that I have no right to complain about our infrequent sex because I'm not working as hard as he is and I can't argue that.

I'm just so frustrated. I feel selfish, yet at the same time justified in my feelings. I do have a vibe and I use that when I really need to, but it doesn't make up for our lack of intimacy.

How do yo deal with being with someone, but not having your needs met? I'm 23 and feel like I'm too young to be having an unsatisfying sex life.

Eh heh.

Brand new to this community and only found it because I -was- googling for answers.

I'm pretty sure I -didn't- do this, but I want to know from everyone else who's done it if it was very easy to tell you had inserted two tampons?

I have a major issue with always getting enough sleep and sometimes it can put me into a state of exhaustion where I'm not totally conscious. During this lack of awareness I wondered if I had put in a tampon without taking the first one out, and.. when I pulled the other one out (almost right away, so that wasn't pleasant and could be why I have symptoms of a UTI).. I didn't find anything to state that the 'first' one was in there.

Did anyone ever have two in and be unable to find signs of the first one? Y'know, that invaluable little string, and such?

I'll go see a doc, I have to anyway to get some antibiotics, but I thought I'd ask just to be sure?

I've had my Diva cup for several months now and I love it. I wash it frequently when using it and boil it between cycles.

Here's a little neccessary background info before I ask my question:
I've been wearing the Diva cup for about three weeks straight, if not a little more. I month ago I finished my period as expected, and a couple days later I started bleeding again. It hasn't stopped since, and it's been a small amount of blood every day. I am on HBC, and am now having my "period" as I should be during the placebo week (The small amount of dark blood has changed to the usual menstrual blood I have during my period and I have cramps, etc.). I've been washing and emptying my Diva cup regularly with no problems until today.

Last night I took out my cup, emptied it, cleaned it, and put it back in. It was odorless at that time. This morning I took out the cup and was met with not only an usually large amount of bright red menstrual blood but an AWFUL smell. I cleaned out the cup with warm soapy water as usual but the smell did not go away. I boiled it for several minutes and rubbed it down with alcohol. It's sparkling clean and sanitized but it still has a very funky smell. My vulva and vagina smell fine- no smell, no nothing. No irritation or strange discharge.

So what in god's name would make the cup suddenly stink like this? I checked the manufacturer website and didn't find any answers. I realize I have been wearing it an awful long time. What stumps me is that it was fine last night but this morning it was putrid. It's much better now that I've cleaned it, but it still has a smell- it's hard to describe, sort of like when you drink from a water bottle, leave a little water in the bottom of the bottle for a long time and then open it- that faint bacterial smell.

Any suggestions? I'd hate to buy a new cup since I just bought this one. They're also supposed to be very bacteria resistant, but I dunno... help!

UTI info

I found this nifty little article in Jane Magazine (December 06/January 07 issue):

Anyone who's ever gotten a UTI after getting lucky understands the painful irony of that phrase while sitting in a doctor's office. For years, people assumed that forgetting to pee after sex was what caused the infection. But a new study shows that isn't quite true- your body creats an antibiotic, peptide LL-37, which helps you fight off any bacteria that gets into the urinary tract. So frequent sufferers may just lack peptides. Swedish scientists are working on ways to up LL-37...Try asking your doctor for the low-dosage antibiotic Macrodantin, which you take within 30 minutes of sex. It beats setting up a cot in the bathroom.

Veddy veddy interestink. (i still pee after sex anyway, because I always have to pee, and I'm in the bathroom cleaning up anyway...)

What are some of the best ways [besides regular cleaning] to make your vagina smell nice, better, or not at all?

Orgasm??

I've heard a lot of people say that when you have an orgasm you just "know," but I'm unsure as to whether I've had one or not. I'm a girl and I have a girlfriend, and for a while it was hard for me to climax, mainly for reasons relating to my depression. The first time she gave me oral was when I thought maybe I had had an orgasm, but it didn't feel like how I expected it to. My entire upper body was really tingly, and my hands were almost completely numb, and I had this feeling of general relief and a bit of elation that lasted for a while. So what makes me think it wasn't a "real" orgasm was because I didn't have any vaginal contractions or anything of that sort. Since then, whenever she gives me oral I have the same feeling of tingling, but I'm still not sure if what I'm experiencing counts as an orgasm. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

I love taking bubble baths, and just baths in general but my vagina doesn't like it too much. Everytime I take a bubble bath I get a UTI. Swimming pools and hot tubs don't bother me in the least bit (we have a hot tub and I go in there quite a bit sometimes). I don't know what causes the UTIs at all, but it would be nice to know so that I could possibly have a UTI free bubble bath. I don't have a bath tub here, but since I am moving out soon I will have a tub to experiment in... but no hot tub to fall back on.

Is there any hope? Any special brand of bubble bath that I should try?

Thanks.

Just a simple question...

How often do you have sex say, per week? My boyfriend and I live about an hour away from each other and with our differing schedules we only see each other about once a week. When we do and are able to get some time alone we usually have sex, so for me it's about once a week, maybe twice. I'm fairly new to relationships (this is my first real boyfriend) so I'm really not sure how often is normal, although I know it has a lot to do with libido and other factors like that so I'm sure every couple is different.

I looked pretty much everywhere I could for just general sex statistics but I couldn't find anything so I figured I might get some answers here. : /

Oh, I'm new here, hey everybody~

A little bit of background: My boyfriend and I are involved in a long-distance relationship. The first time we met, he stayed with me for 10 days and there was a lot of sex and I had a yeast infection after he left. A couple months later, we hung out for 3 three weeks and I got a yeast infection halfway through. We're moving in together on Tuesday, and I'm dreading the usual yeast infection. I seem to be prone to them - I had them frequently with an IUD, but removing the IUD caused them to go away until the boyfriend came.
I read somewhere that having a lot of sex after a period of abstinence can cause yeast infections. This makes sense, as the other two sex-related culprits seem to be having sex without proper lubrication (nope) and partners transferring it to each other. My boyfriend was a virgin, and thus far, I've been his only partner. The last time we had sex was at the very beginning of November - is it possible that I could have given him a yeast infection that time that he may still have? And how the heck do I prevent this? It definitely has something to do with sex as other than the two years I had the IUD, I've never gotten them. What I've seen thus far about preventing yeast infections seems to be very general; drying properly after bathing, wearing loose clothing, etc. What do I do to prevent yeast infections that seem to be caused specifically by sex, particularly if my boyfriend isn't re-infecting me? I'm dreading it so much that I'm considering buying monistat to use as a preventative. Taking acidophilus (sp?) seems to be controversial though I'm not quite sure how.
Sorry this is so long! I know how to treat yeast infections and I know how to prevent them in a general sort of way, but I'm not sure what to do in this case.

spotting

my last period was dec 13th 2006. my average cycle length is 34 days and its pretty much regular. my period is not due until january 16, 2007.
i've never spotted before but since my last period, i've had light spotting like 3 different times:
once in the middle of my cycle, another time a week after that and then again today.
it lasts for like 1-2 days.
it hasn't happened to me before so is this normal? is it a sign of something bad?

So. A recent VP post got me thinking about the proportion of women who use bottled lube -- like Liquid Silk, for example -- during penetrative sex versus the proportion of women who rely solely on their natural lubrication for sexual activities.

I definitely think both are fine; the only "right" is what works well for you and your body. And I'm sure there are folks who have fanfuckingtastic lubeless sex, just as I'm sure that there are women who require additional lube for sex to be a comfortable and fanfuckingtastic experience. What I'm not sure about, however, is how many people are at which points on the spectrum.

So, after a quick discussion with the rest of the VP Team, I decided that I'd like to get some feedback from VPers.

My questions are as follows:
1) How often do you use bottled/store-bought lube during sexual activities, and how often do you rely on your body's natural lubrication?

2) For whatever type of lubrication you use, how often do you feel "wet enough" for sex? How often is sex dry, painful, or otherwise uncomfortable?

3) For times when you don't use artificial lube, do you do anything "special" (extended foreplay, for example) to ensure that you're sufficiently wet?
I'm interested in knowing about the full range of situations, so any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I need a hip x-ray.  This could be a stupid question, but I was just wondering if having pelvic x-rays carries any increased risk of fertility issues and/or birth defects?  The logical part of my mind tells me that such a common procedure isn't likely to be risky to women.  But then I start thinking about how the eggs I've got now are the only ones I'll ever have, and I don't want to fry them!

FWIW, I'm 22, childless, and plan to remain that way for at least 5 more years.

VPers, I had my mother buy me some boric acid to help treat my BV, and I think she got the wrong kind.
It doesn't say ANYWHERE on it what % it is. It says "Not intended for internal use". It also has numerous instructions on what to do if you get it on your skin, in your eye, or if you swallow it.

So, I assume this isn't right. But she says that she specifically asked the pharmacist for it, and he pulled it off a shelf in the First Aid section.

Also, how well does this stuff work? I have had BV for months! I've used Clindamax cream, and two antibiotics (though the latter antibiotic seemed to have worked very well, I may still have some discharge). I want this gone! It has been so frustrating and overwhelming and I have been to the doctor/gyno a bunch of times. I also am very prone to YI after using antibiotics, so that is obnoxious too!

I am astonished to find that Mirena can cause you to gain weight!
http://www.pandamedicine.com/forum/p771.html
See I’m not making this up! I have been terribly pissed off over the fact I have gained 15lbs since I had it put in in Sept. It may seem like not a lot to you but for me it’s two dress sizes and jeans that don’t fit. So next week I’m having it taken out and since my sex life is so sporadic with how much I have been working I’m not worried about getting pregnant. I wonder if it is common to gain weight with Mirena. I mean, how in the hell of it do I gain weight when my stomach is stapled? So I bought a cool stepper, and I have stopped drinking soda, eliminated fat from my diet and am on only lean proteins and have bought a juicer. I plan to be back in shape by May forFor my vacation. Also my plastic surgery has been approved so it looks like I will be getting my tummy tuck after all, with and I plan on having my boobs done at the same time but I do not want have this all done until after I get to my pre-pregnancy weight which I have done before. If anyone had the same expeience as me, how long did it take you to lose the weight afterwards?

Has anyone owned the Snugglepuss before?

It looks REALLY good, but I'd like to know if it's worth my time before dropping 50 dollars, hahaha. Are g-spot vibrators worth my time at all if I don't orgasm from intercourse on a regular basis?

Question 1: Okay, this is another wonderful scent post. I didn't see anything in the tag section, and I just read the recent smelly post. I know vaginas smell. I even like how vaginas smell. The problem is, I'm on my period, and I don't just smell right now, I SMELL. (My roommate keeps picking up her can of air-freshener and spraying it every half hour. When I asked, she just wouldn't say what it smelled like, so I can't confirm it's me, but it's really getting on my nerves.) Unless I keep my legs tightly crossed and don't move, this period-smell just wafts up. It's really horrible. I've been washing as much as I can, but there's got to be something I can do, to cover it up if nothing else. Oh, and it doesn't smell different than normal, except in quantity. Forgot to mention that.

Question 2: I just realized this week that when I rearanged my room, I put all of my pads in the drawer that the heating ducting runs right behind. This evil drawer melts chocolates, and spoils any food I put in it. Does heat do anything bad and bacteria related to pads? I think it affected the adhesive a little, but it would be good to know if my pads are dangerous.

So, I'm 19, in a monogamus relationship of 2+ years, we were each other's firsts, I have a paraguard IUD and I chart my cycles.

Last week I was raped by a friend staying over my house, he used a condom, and we didn't have contact genital to genital before he put it on to my memory.

I want to get tested because I asked him to and he refused (I didn't know he was this shitty of a person, and we certainly aren't talking now) but what timeframe should I use? Also, what could I have gotten with a condom? (I am familiar with STIs but haven't focused on them since I am in a commited relationship...)

Also, how should my boyfriend and I protect ourselves other than condoms until we know the test results? Should we worry about genital-mouth contact? How often should I get re-tested?

This really stinks... I never wanted to worry about all this stuff.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Okay, there is something weird wrong with me. It's almost like a chronic yeast (?) infection that I've had for years. I've been checked up twice and both times the doctors said it was yeast, but none of the treatments worked. I took this one time pill thing for it, it went away for a few days and just came back again. I'm not diabetic, either. There isn't really an unusual discharge as far as I can tell, either. It just itches a lot at least a couple days a week, sometimes swells up a bit. I'm going to go back tomorrow to see if it is even yeast or something else and to see what can be causing it. It's really bothering me because it doesn't go away for long enough and I can't really have sex because it is too painful...

I've even stopped using scented soaps and detergents and only wear cotton underwear. I've cut out a lot of refined sugars & tend to just eat fruits if I want something sweet.

Basicly got thrown out of Ann Summers!
I'm not 18 so I wasn't allowed to even go near the sex toys, not even to just look.
A tiny part of me knows this is right, that people below 18 shouldn't really be allowed to go there, but if you can have sex at 16, why can't you (innocently) go near sex toys?
Isn't that just like saying oh you can't have pleasure by yourself until you're the right age but sureee go hook up with someone that might just give you an STD! ?
Has anyone else been directed out of there?
I'm a little pissed off here :/
