I know you're all racing to state what your preferences are.

Something from a recent conversation sparked a now serious inquiry with the general populace from this community:

What do you think about peirced nipples? On men? On women? Do they look better on small/medium/large boobed individuals? What sort of assumptions do you have about someone if/when you descover they have peirced nipples?

Has anyone here had experience with taking HBC and an SSRI simultaneously?

I've been on Lexapro for anxiety/depression for almost 2 years now. I just started taking OTC Lo like 5 days ago. I was trying to research about experiences of people who were on both at once, and I saw some pretty nasty stuff about hormones getting messed up and everything. I wouldn't think they would interact much since SSRI's deal with neurotransmitters, not hormones... but somehow people were experiencing bad mood swings and depression and such. I have tried to come off Lexapro for the longest time now, but I revert to my old emotions... so for the time being I'm stuck. I get really bad when I'm not on the medicine, and so I really don't want the HBC to make that come back.

I do really want to stay on birth control as well... I was prescribed it to regulate my period but now I am also planning to use it as actual protection. I know certain meds can interfere with its effectiveness, but I don't think that Lexapro is one of them... anyone know? Because I started taking it on the first day of my period, this past Saturday, so supposedly it would have gone into effect right away... and my boyfriend and I have already had sex twice without condoms since then. So now that I think about it... I really hope my SSRI doesn't mess it up.

I just wanted to let you all know of the "magic in a tube" that I recently found.

I have genital herpes, and currently am only able to afford to take outbreak therapy. I currently am unemployed, and seeing that I don't have health insurance, I am unable to get my Valtrex prescription filled. So, I stocked up on the pills, and only use them when I feel an outbreak coming.

Because I am unable to take Valtrex everyday, I am more susceptible to have outbreaks more frequently, especially when I have any continuous activity "down there". Any continued stimulation in the same spot normally causes an outbreak every time.

When I was first diagnosed several years ago, the OB-GYN suggested I use Lidocaine (available by prescription only), and it seemed to work okay when I started itching, or was really uncomfortable. Once the Valtrex got good in my system, I did not have many more issues. Now, the Lidocaine has run out and I think I have found a suitable, if not better, substitute. So all of you out there that do not have insurance and are not able to afford it either....

Summers Eve Maximum Strength Anti- Itch Gel!!!!!! At this point, I really think I like it better than Lidocaine. It has Pramoxine Hydrochloride (pain relieving gel), and Glycerin (skin protectant) in it. For me anyway, it works a lot faster and stays longer than anything else I have had.

And I am sure it would be good for YI's as well, although I can not say I have tried that one yet.

Just wanted to pass that along, and, if I can help just one person get through their pain, like I am doing with mine, it is all worth it!!

ok so i lost my virginity on saturday night.
im not really worried though because the condom didnt break or anything but im not on birth control and i know theres always a chance of still being pregnant.

i got my period today, but im just wondering if its still possible that i could be pregnant because it was only a couple days ago.

is this period "proof" enough or do i have to wait til my period next month to be sure im not pregnant??
[identity profile] skjfhsljfhslfa.livejournal.com
The subject is pretty self explanatory haha..

But it all started happening back in Jan. or Feb...My periods are too frequent and too long, they're about 2 weeks in between each other and last about 2 weeks -_- I talked to my gyno about it and she thinks it's a horomone imbalance...however my mom (because it's not HER problem) hasnt taken me to get all that checked :/ I'm getting really fucking sick of this...i feel like i'm ALWAYS bleeding!!!!

I'm supposed to go down to the lab and get a bunch of thyroid, horomones and some other shit checked out...pretty much they'll take tubes and tubes of blood and test them and get back to me, after that i need to get back to the gyno to figure out a plan...however...my gyno app. was back in March, she asked me to go get everything checked that following week, and then get back to her asap...Well it's almost June now annnnd NOTHING has gotten taken care of...I cant confront my mom about it because when i do all she does is scream at me...

Like i said before, not her problem, not getting taken care of..the end

This is more of a rant than anything because i am now on day 11 of yet another mind numbing period and it doesnt look like it's gunna be slowing down...I just want this problem fixed...End of story...

I just went to go take my birth control pill and realized that somehow I've skipped one, since the one I took today was the one for Tuesday. I have a bad habit of not looking at the days when I take them so I have no idea which day I actually skipped it. Should I just take two today? Or do I have to start the month over? I don't have a spare pack on hand but I could probably get one within a day.

I won't see my boyfriend until probably the 9th, so this isn't an immediate issue, but I don't know what to do :(

edit: oh, and I'm in the second week of pills, if that matters.

Couldn't find anything about this in the archive, and searching "instead" turns up way too many results. If I'm asking something that's already been answered, please point me to the applicable location.

Any Instead users have advice, particularly about using the bathroom while Instead is in?

Also, how the hell could this thing not get noticed during sex? If bowel movement pelvic floor contractions dislodge it, surely the vaginal contractions/expansions during sex would cause something explosive.

ETA: I just gave up. Someone called my cell phone, it was in the front pocket of a tighter pair of jeans, the phone was on vibrate, I jumped and hollered and twitched my pelvic floor muscle and leaked Instead all over myself. Hello, o.b. tampons until I can buy a Divacup. Gah.
[identity profile] gemfyre.livejournal.com
I put my Divacup in a pan with some water to boil it.

Then I went off and forgot about it!

My cup is now destroyed and the kitchen is full of smoke and ashes. AND I destroyed a saucepan.

I really can't afford to buy another right now.

*bursts into tears*

ETA : I can't really afford NOT to have one either. Anyone know of any Australian stockists of silicone cups (I don't care if it's a Diva or Mooncup). If I order internationally a Diva is $10 cheaper than a Mooncup.

Hi... I know I have been posting a ton of questions since joining, but here is yet another! How do your hormones keep track of time? For instance, when you are on the pill and they say to take it the same time every day, how does your body register that it is receiving it at the same time? Because my sleep schedule is REALLY random... sometimes I'll go to bed at 11 PM and wake up at 8 AM, other times I go to bed at 5 in the morning and wake up at 5 at night haha. I chose my pill time to be 6 PM because it's around dinner, a time that I am always awake... whereas in the early morning or late at night some days I am sleeping and some days I am not. But does your body know that exactly a day has gone by with some sort of internal clock like your circadian rhythms, or does it work from your sleep cycle? If so, mine would be way off... and would that affect the effectiveness of the birth control?

This is a more sex-related question, but I still need advice.

First of all, I have an eating disorder and so my period has gotten out of wack. In April it was fine, lasted a week and went away. A few days afterwards my boyfriend and I had sex (without a condom but he pulled out). But then a week later I got my period again. We had sex about 2 weeks ago at his house without a condom and I was worried because it was around my 3rd week. (Although he pulled out, but still.) I thankfully didn't become pregnant. I got my period last week but it only lasted a few days. And we're going to have sex again tomorrow.

But what I need advice on is that I like having sex without a condom and so does he. I've noticed that it takes him quite awhile to climax with one. But without it, it's more pleasurable and fun for the both of us. (And quicker but not too quick, if you know what I mean.) I haven't been able to use birth control because I'm scared to mention anything to my parents, because they'll probably get upset and think I'm too young for this sort of thing. Is there any advice you may have for this sort of situation? Is it okay to have sex without a condom the first week after a period ends? I heard the 1st and last week are the best times, but I'm still not quite sure.

Hey, just thought I'd let you know about this thing that I'm trying out. It's for period cramps. The brand is 'Ova' and it's using the same technology as TENS machines that women use to ease the pain when they're in labour. It's this little thing you clip onto your belt, and there's two sticky pads coming out of it. You stick it on your stomach and switch it on. Basically, it stimulates your natural endorphins or whatever using electric shocks.

Just though I'd let you girls know about it! Means no need to break out the pain killers every month.

Has anyone here ever been prescriped Leviquin and if so, did you have really bad nausea from it? I got prescribed it yesterday for an infection and I feel extremely sick! As well, as being terribly sweaty when I wake up from sleeping through the night or a nap.

Thanks :)

I've been on OTC-LO for almost 4 months now.
I recently went on Vacation, and triiiied my hardest to keep taking the pill at 7 everyday. But it was so hard because of the time change and everything. So basically i took it 1-3 hours late everyday for about 3 or 4 days.
Well i had sex without a condom Sunday, and my boyfriend pulled out and cummed.
I started taking my inactive pills Sunday too, and usually i get my period by Tuesday. Well..today is Wednesday, and noo sign of it.
Any chance I'm pregnant? ..I know its real early to tell.. but what are the odds?

I am a fifteen-year-old biological female (I'm FTM transgender), and for the past month or so, I have been having hot flashes. They are like a wave of heat going through my body, and take one to five minutes to pass. They occur whether or not I am dressed too warmly: I've had them in t-shirts; when I'm wearing a sweatshirt and have one, even if I take off the sweatshirt I am still hot.

The only medications I am on are doxycyclin (acne medication), and paxil. I take a multivitamin every day and drink lots of water; I also see a chiropractor, who didn't know what the deal was with them. I've been having my period for ~two years, although it is pretty irregular. Is this something I should have checked out, or is it most likely just hormones?

i have a question for all you amazing ladies...

just say you have a long distance friend that is coming over, and they deny (but you _know_ that it'll happen) that things will progress into more than just friendship, and become a little more sexual.... how would you avoid such situations? i understand spend your time in public places, but i mean mentally..?

im just curious, it really doesnt relate to me (not now at least) but i'd love to know how such empowered women would handle such a situation :)
