fingering?

Okay, I'm not very knowledged about sex and even making out for that fact. My boyfriend fingered me awhile ago and it hurt really bad. I made him slow down... and later it just didn't hurt. I know it hurt because I was tight... and I guess he really 'broke me in'. Did he pop my cherry though? I think he did but I really don't know how likely that is? I feel really dumb for asking that though. Since then, a lot more has happened though.. but I was really wondering about that? Or if I still have got that to come?

I'm on my period, I want to see what my vagina looks like inside right now, no reason other than I simply haven't seen in there and I want to. I don't have an issue with trying to examine myself, or even getting my partner to help, but I'm not really skilled at examining myself. Last time I bled from it, which was worrying because nothing has made me bleed except menstruation before, I assume I trapped myself in my speculum on pulling it out. I'm just a little bit concerned about doing myself some damage and not noticing – how possible, past hitting my cervix and doubling over in pain, is the risk of my hurting myself without noticing?

I've heard on here that boric acid is good for treating persistent yeast infections. What is the proper amount of boric acid I should be inserting into my vagina and for how long? I'd hate to anger the vagina gods if I used too much boric acid :)

Also I've heard of tea tree oil being used to treat yeast infections. What else is tea tree oil good for? It looks interesting

Has anyone else been watching Regency House party on PBS?

I have been watching it quite obsessively. Here is the gist:
6 men and 6 women from the London area were picked to live in a Regency home for the summer months. There they are expected to find a suitable marraige partner amongst each other, by the end of the Summer. They are living as if it were 1811, which was the hayday of the regency era in England.

As can be expected, it is very difficult for nearly everyone there to conform to the standards of 1811, moreso for the women than the men. Women were considered inferior, fragile (property) at the time. 1 in every three women during the regency time would die in childbirth.

The show is amazing, in that it is a real eye opener as to the growing we have done as a society since then. Not to mention all the growing that still needs to happen. The modern women in the show struggling with the very old concepts of "femininity" of 1811 leaves me with more questions than actual answers.

You should check it out.

So here's my deal..

I was on Micronor for about two years. The first year was fine, but the second year had some nasty side effects so I decided it was time for a change. I have never had a history of high blood pressure, but I do have a significant anxiety disorder which can cause my blood pressure to rise when in a stressful situation. For me, my annual exam is a VERY stressful situation. I can appear calm during the whole thing but my heart will be racing and I'll panic soon as I'm in "safe space." So, at my last exam the nurse took my BP and tells me it's high. Just enough above normal for them to not let me switch pills. (It would seem Micronor is the safest pill if you have high BP) So I asked that she check it again after the exam just before I leave. She agreed and when she took it again it was just at the high end of normal. They agreed to change my pill but asked that I come in and get my BP taken again after two months of pills before they would continue to let me take this pill. I know the high BP is caused by my anxiety, I told them this. But I'm really afraid that because going to the Doctor is stressful for me when I go back to get my BP checked it will be high again and I will be refused this new pill (which I'm in love with). Ack! What should I do?! I've told them this is my problem but if they never see anything different why should they believe me? Any suggestions on things to ask them? Tell them? Things I can do? I'm so nervous and frustrated.

Is it fairly common for your period to be lighter and shorter (4 days and one box of tampons; it used to be almost two) after weight loss and significantly increased exercise?

Also, my breast size is fluctuating quite a bit from period to period...much more than what it used to be.
[identity profile] blackperson.livejournal.com
I admit it. I'm the girlfriend every man is terrified of. I'm constantly convinced I'm pregnant. Even though I'm on the pill and take it religiously. Even though we use condoms correctly. If my period is a day late, I suspect the worse and drive him (and myself) insane. I've always got a stock of pregnancy tests... just in case.

But when there is a reason to worry (missed a few pills, no condom) he (the boyfriend) never seems phased because he assumes I'm crazy again. While I, on the other hand, decide it's time to start ripping out my own hair (Not literally. Not yet anyway).

Am I alone in my insanity?

I can't be the only one.

*sigh*

I have a dumb question...

I just recently lost my virginity, I am 21 years old and finally fell in love and had sex last week, now my hyman (spelled that wrong) has not broke yet, and we have done it 3 times, but it still hurts a lot when he goes to put it in all the way, I don't know whats happening and is there anything I can do to make it stop hurting... ?

thanks
[identity profile] costcoslut.livejournal.com
Ok, so I was wondering if guys can tell if they are having sex with a virgin? I am a virgin, so would a guy know that I am if I didn't tell them? I have had some action down there so I think my hymen has been broken but have never gone all the way. so what do you guys think?

I'd normally post this in the ECP community, but they seem to lagging lately.

I took Plan B a few weeks ago, had a perfectly easy experience with it followed by an on-time and normal period. Now I'm ovulating and I'm spotting (or I believe I am--my normal discharge has a mauvish tint rather than whiteish, and it's definitely enough to stain my panties). Is this a normal after effect from Plan B or something I should contact my doctor/pharmacy about?

Yay!

Nothing of real importance. I just wanted to express my joy about finding out that my re-pap came back completely normal this time and I'm not dying.

:) Thanks for the past encouragement.
[identity profile] sicklipstick.livejournal.com
so i heard somewhere that when you get off the pill you can ovulate and not bleed during yr period....and than about 3 months( varies on everyone) you get yr periods coming back...

is this really true? i mean i was on a pill and had one week of periods( well 4 days of that week) but i still bled... doesthis just mean my bodies is getting back to its normal..and i should just wait it out?

So here's the deal. My boyfriend and I do indeed have unprotected sex. But we know the consequences and what not. And we've already decided that if I do get pregnant. It isn't something we're afraid of. And know to take full responsibility for the baby. We've been through the discussion 1,000 times and we're both okay with it. So with that said. In October I was supposed to start my period on the 5th. But I didn't and I thought I was pregnant. Well the 21st rolled around and I started. (Or so I thought) I then read that 'spotting' was a pregnancy symptom. And that is so what I had. Well I have taken a pregnancy test. 2 to be sure. The First Results:Invalid (Taken at 2am) The Second Results:Invalid (Taken at 9:30am) Well okay. What then. They were the First Response ones. So I'm not sure if quality had anything to do with it. Because I wanted to know and I read about them and they're pretty accurate. Anyways, now it being November and I usually start on the 5th. Well on the 16th I started 'spotting' again. My question to all of you is. How many months can you 'spot' and still be pregnant? And any idea as to why my pregnany test results are coming up invalid. I mean. I did take two. I know I did it right. Once I pee'd on it. The second time in a cup and soaked it like the directions said I could do. So I know I didnt mess up. Just ahh confused. Thanks for all the comments in advance.

I didn't see anything in the archives about this, and I get just as annoyed as anyone when the same question shows up three times in one day, but here's my question:

I'm on Amoxicillin for a throat infection. So I know that a) I am going to get a yeast infection and b) I'm not protected from my BC. So I didn't fill my Yasmin persrip. at the beginning of this week because obviously I won't be having sex in the next couple of weeks (And my insurance doesn't cover it.) So do I just take this month off? I don't want to because I just took a month off in Sept. and I get side effects when I do it.
I've talked to my gyno about this in the past when I had a pregnancy scare, and she said to wait until my next period. but since this isn't a pregnancy scare can I "sunday-start" mid-month?

Thanks to everyone who responded to my last post! It was well worth my inbox being overloaded. <33

I have a sort of non-vaginal related problem, though. I'm not sure if this is the right community to be asking, but considering it's a community full of creative and inspiring women (and some men, too), I figured I'd ask anyway. I just looked at the calendar, and realized that my SO and I's one year anniversary is next weekend, and I haven't gotten him anything, or had any idea as to what to make him.

I actually do want to make him something, especially since the holiday season is fast approaching, and will be full of plenty of gift giving then. your creative energy and suggestions are welcome. :)

OK, I have a question. Anyone in here find it easier to orgasm with a partner than without? B/c I've never had one, period, but until I got my vibrator, the closest I'd ever gotten involved a partner. And while I was masturbating last night, I felt like I was hitting a wall- getting just to the edge of orgasm but not crossing the threshhold, and that I could cross it if my boy were there.
And I know that it's generally recommended to orgasm by yourself to improve your sex life, and that they ask women who don't orgasm during sex if they can do it alone, but I can't. Maybe that's what I'll spend Saturday doing...

Any advice or commiseration would be welcome...

I saw this on the news today and thought it was a fabulous idea!

Cut Out Domestic Violence (article) [official site (i think)]
Salons aim to cut domestic violence
A project uses stylists' rapport with their clients to offer a hotline number for help

"It's an excellent idea," said Linda Berger, executive director of the Statewide California Coalition for Battered Women. "They've identified a place that women do, in fact, feel comfortable disclosing things."

---

I think this is a really good idea. They were talking about it on the news tonight how the hair salon is one place where many abused women can go without being followed by their spouse. [This is not to say that only women can be abused in relationships or are the only ones deserving of help, I just think it's a creative idea]

i think this question in on-topic enough, as it concerns our girlie workings and what not.

for those of you having experienced PLANNED pregnancies, how long did it take you to conceive from the time you actually started actively "trying"? thanks. :)

Has anyone here ever had labia reduction surgery? Or know someone who has?
I'm looking for more information, hopefully from someone with first hand experience.

If you have no idea what i'm talking about it's basically reducing the amount of skin of the labia minora for women with enlarged, hypertrophic, or an asymmetrical labia minora.

There's pictures and an explanation at http://www.labiadoctor.com/ if you want more info.

about a year ago, i had a pap smear done, and the results came back slightly abnormal with an ASCUS (Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance) diagnosis. the test was negative for HPV, so they said that i didn't need to come back for a follow-up immediately.

when i went in for a pap last month, the results again came back abnormal, only this time the results were LGSIL (Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions). the doctor immediately ordered a colposcopy, which i just did this week and am waiting for results. when i had this recent pap done, no HPV test was ordered, since the last one was negative. when i asked the doctor what could be causing my abnormal pap (since I don't have HPV), she just said that judging from my LGSIL abnormality, i probably did have HPV (even though no HPV test was done and my last HPV test was negative).

i told the doctor that i most certainly could not have HPV since i've been in a monogamous relationship with my boyfriend for the past 8 years (we're 26) and we were both 18yr old virgins when we met and we've never had any other partners since. even though i told the doctor this information, i sensed her skepticism.

65% of women in my age group (<30) with my diagnosis test positive for HPV; the other 35% test negative

i'm curious to hear what others think--has anyone ever had a similar situation?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering what the symptoms are for ovarian cysts? I've been having shooting pain from my ovaries to the opening of my vagina lately along with spotting. I'm aware that it could be the birth control kicking in [been on it for almost 2 monthes]. These pains and spotting have been with me for about 5 days now, and they occur 3-4 times a day.

If they're not ovarian cysts, what could they be? Could it just be my body adjusting to the birth control?

Whee, I haven't been here in a while.

So I bought a pack of Instead cups today.

On the very-impressed side of things: they are incredibly comfortable. I forget there's anything in there. If I wear tampons on the first day of my period, they make the cramps worse, but that didn't happen with the cup.

On the not-so-impressed side: they're not reusable, they're not biodegradable (and they're probably even more evil than six-pack rings, out in the wide world), and they're hella expensive.

If any of you tried using disposable cups and then switched to a reusable cup like the Keeper, did you find that both were equally comfortable? If you have good luck with Insteads, does that mean there's a good chance of the Keeper fitting properly? Or are they too different?

Fairly recently on one of the feminist lists I’m on someone was talking about female sexual revolution, in the past tense, now my immediate reaction was ‘What sexual revolution?!’, as far as I am concerned only now are we seeing a rise in menstrual activism and sexuality themed feminists. To me we are far from post-revolution when it comes from sex, we are getting there with wonderful communities like this but I still see a lot of problems when it comes to sex, women and feminism. On a day where I was told I am scum for being a feminists, on a female genital mutilation thread of all places, I can’t help but wonder about female sexual revolution and how others feel about this – what are your opinions?

I don't know if this is the best place to post this, but I figured I'd try.

Does anyone know of a very good place to get a bikini wax place in NYC?
