the colposcopy is over and done. turns out that the gyno who did it was the gyno that I used to go to a couple years back. it's been... about a year and a half since I've seen her, and in that time she'd gotten married. so her name changed, and the person who made my appointment neglected to tell me that, even when I requested her by her old last name. so I was worried over nothing.

she's a wonderful doctor. I only stopped going to her because I moved and originally thoguht it would be too annoying to drive over an hour for my appts. but after 2 horrible experiances, I've decided to stay with doctors I know and trust. screw the crap shoot, you know? besides, she knows about my history and she was the doctor who finally found my PCOS and started treating it.

anyway, she let my fiance come back with no problem. she completely explained the procedure to me and told me when she was going to do everything. which didn't happen the first time.

I did have abnormal cells show up, so the biopsy was necessary... and yes, it did hurt. but having my fiance there to let me squeeze his hand and having a doctor let me know it was going to happen helped a lot. but yeah... it was still very not good.

so now I wait for my results. I know that it's probably nothing, but that nagging thoguht is still there. and with everything else stressful in my life right now, this is something I don't want to think about. I'll make sure to let everyone know when I do find out, and that you all for your help and support!

as a funny sidenote, on the way home my fiance was trying to make me feel better, and we passed the mommography room. he turned to me and said "you've already been to the puss-puss(our nickname for my vulva) doctor, do we get to go to the boobie doctor next week?" he said it in a really childish voice, and as much as I wasn't in the mood to laugh, I did. he's wonderful, and I'm so glad I found a guy who loves me and my vagina as much as he does. :)

[livejournal.com profile] tyrsalvia asked what happened in a colposcopy, so I figured I would oblige and write up sort of a step-by-step thing. I'll jsut it as it may get long, and some people may wish to skim over. I will be as graphic as possible, so be warned. step by step )

Now I just examined some of those craaazy archives and found no answer to my question but if I missed it, please let me know... but here goes it.

I'm on the patch and what a lovely little friend it is. I just finished my first 3 weeks with it on and now it's my off week. And since it's my first, I'm wondering how long it took other girlies to get their little red friends. I didn't think it'd be all take off the patch and open the flood gates but I'm not sure if it takes a day or maybe a few more?

Just curious.

If I want to stop taking BC and I'm in the middle of my pack, can I stop right now or is it better to finish out the pack?

If it makes a difference, it's Tri-cyclen 21.
