How can I get rid of this BV, flagyl did NOT work. So I tried douching with Hydrogen Peroxide, and that worked for about 3 days, I want to cry! It's been 3 months I'm going crazy! Any ideas??

Today, I was prescribed Clindesse to treat BV. I was wondering if anyone's used it before and what to expect, especially side-effect-wise. Thanks!

This is a bit of a strange question and doesn't have to do with lady bits exactly, but I do want to ask the ladies.

Yesterday, something happened between me and my boyfriend.  I won't get into it, but we are on the verge of breaking up.  My best friends asked me that if we DO break up, would I still be friends with him?  I replied that it depends on how the actual break-up goes, but I'd like to try.  Then one of my friends said, "How can you stay friends with someone you've had sex with?"

So...ladies, my question is, are you friends with people you've had sexual contact with?  It can be boyfriends, FWBs, one-night stands, etc.  Just tell me your story and whether or not you're still friends with the person and why.

About four weeks ago, I had a surgical abortion. Yesterday my partner and I had sex in a position that we usually don't, missionary with my knees up to my chest. During this I had a mildly sharp pain near my left hip as he thrusted, but was willing to ignore it, assuming it would go away postcoitus. Since then (nearly 22 hours) it's hurt intermittently in that area, anywhere from right next to my hip to nearly centered on my lower abdomen. It doesn't feel exactly like cramps, but maybe similar? I've also felt the need to pee a little more often, which may be because I'm thinking of the area so much.

I checked my cervical position to see if they could be related, and sure enough, my cervix is high and to the left right now.

I tried masturbating with a vibrator to see if it was cramping that could be relieved (sex always helps me through most pains, even migraines) but experienced some major internal pain when doing so, so I stopped.

My abdomen is also a little sore if I press on it with some firmness.

Is it possible that my partner bruised my insides?

EDIT: I'm now also experiencing some similar pain on my left side... could this just be a weird mittelschmerz? (Now that it's less localized I'm not worried about it being a cyst!)

So it is much much to early to test or tell, but when you are TTC you examine everything. Well I chart my temperatures. According to FF I ovulated on the 29th. This is very exciting because I wasn't sure I was ovulating. Now, that is only 5 days after I stopped bleeding, but it was an insanely long period. Can you ovulate that quickly? I had sex two days prior, and the day of ovulation. Yesterday I had some pinkish spotting when I went to the bathroom once, and it was mixed with some watery slippery discharge. later that evening I had just a little bit of old brown discharge. So what do you think? Does it sound hopeful or is it to early to get my hopes up?

Is this BV?

Two days ago I noticed that my vagina was starting to smell a little off, but without any change in discharge.  It's not fishy or yeasty...the only way I can think to describe it is stale. Almost like stale sweat, but it is definitely not sweat, I can tell it's coming from my vagina itself.

Today I've been feeling "drippy" all day.  But if I go to the bathroom to give myself a wipedown, there is very little discharge:  no more than what is usually there.  The discharge that is there is clear, not sticky, but with that same stale odor I noticed before.

Does that sound like BV?  I've had BV once before, but it smelled really terrible and I had yellowy discharge, so this seems totally different.  I'm thinking of doing a hydrogen peroxide douche to see if that helps, because I assume that if it is BV it's a pretty mild case at this point that I might be able to knock out at home.

Thanks in advance.

I've had the symptoms of BV for a while now - burning, smell, etc. I have been treating it pretty successfully with hydrogen peroxide, but it's been 2 months, and whenever I slow down on the HP the BV comes bounding back.

I've had some Clindesse in my drug cabinet, but I have been trying to treat this more "holistically". But, I have a feeling I need to break out the big guns.

I plan on using the Clindesse this week. Should I call my doctor and ask for Flagyl, too? do you think that both at once would be a lot better than just the Clindesse, or is the Clindesse hardcore enough to kick it? Has anyone managed to get over chronic BV like this, and if you did, how?

Alright VPers,

I have a question that I may have already answered myself, but it would be great if someone could help me clarify some things.  Thank you so much in advance!

So, I opted out of getting the Gardasil vaccine and recently learned that my boyfriend had some risky (unprotected) sex a few years back with a girl who cheated on him a few times and had had multiple partners before him.  Though I know HPV is super common, I am extremely concerned about my chances of getting a high-risk strain.  In fact, I am severely stressed out about it, and I've begun researching.

During my research, one question that keeps coming up for me is can men clear high-risk HPV? As in, can a man potentially be infected with a high-risk form of HPV by a female partner but then not pass it on to another female partner years after the original infection because his body has eliminated it?  I am inclined to think that this is not possible, and a "carrier" is a "carrier" for life, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Finally, when the research refers to "clearing" HPV:  is it referring simply to clearing the symptoms of the infection as most women do in a matter of months-years (and men don't because they do not experience symptoms with the high-risk strains of HPV)?

I've been getting this "fluttering" in my lower abdoman area, i looked up pregnancy on Wikipedia and it said that this sensation usually happens around the 4 month period. WELL i'm 17 and tommarrow is my first visit to the gyno, I don't exactly know what to do. I'm freaked out because durring the time period (assuming wikipedia is right) I didn't have any sex what so ever! but my muscles are stretched in the same area im getting the "fluttering". I've been told what the gyno does and i would like to know what to do... I'm afraid my mom and boyfriend would freak... last thing i need is my mom fully tweaking out on me... Any suggestions or confirmations? I'd love to know!

~Thanks!

I posted a week or two ago about switching from Depo Provera to some type of birth control pill. I got switched over to Ortho Tricylcen Lo, which I have taken before and loved. My 9 months of breakthrough bleeding has finally stopped after just four days of the pill! Joy! There is one thing that is bugging me and the more I think about it, the more confused I am. I hope this all makes sense!

I was due for my Depo shot on January 30th, which was a Friday. The woman at my Planned Parenthood who wrote the script told me that I could do a Sunday start of the pill two days later. I asked about using a backup method. She told me I had one week of protection after the due date of the shot (which would put me five pills into my first active week). She told me after that to use a backup method for two weeks, which would pretty much be until the placebo week of my first pack.

I very may well have misheard or misunderstood her. It made sense at the time, but the more I think about what I thought I knew about how birth control works, I get confused. There is no gap, theoretically, in my birth control use. I started the pill before the Depo was even technically not effective. So using a backup method seems like overkill to me.

I have no problem using a backup method this month, I actually have a bunch of VCF left over from before I was on Depo that I might as well use up. I just wanted to get some input and know if this makes sense to anyone else.

So, yesterday, after many days of elevated temps, (see chart here www.fertilityfriend.com/home/238f66), DH and I had sex. We started with foreplay, and then noticed that I was bleeding. I got up and went to the bathroom, and was absolutely sure it was my period. Clots, cramps, the whole nine yards.

This made me jump all over getting him to finally try period sex, using the "first five days" rule, to have sex WITHOUT a condom for the first time since July.

After sex, I put in my cup and went to bed. Woke up this morning, took the cup out...

Nothing.

Not a damned thing. Not even a tinge of color to the bitty bit of mucus in the cup.

No bleeding all day, no cramping, no PMS signs at all.

Wtf? Was that not really my period? Could I be pregnant? I have tons of tests, I can take one if y'all think there is a risk, whenever it will be accurate. Advise me, oh vagpag goddesses and other minor deities! I'm at, like, 15 dpo (i think, I missed temping a few times...alarm clock got replaced since then!), and this is the longest LP I've had. Even taking a conservative estimate, and assuming ovulation on the day I didn't temp, before the really obvious thermal shift, I'm at 11 dpo, which is still long for my average of 9.

Please help!

Hello,

I have recently noticed that my vagina is giving off a really weird and strong odor. It has been going on about a week. I have definitely noticed it while around people, and it is very embarrassing. My period ended around when this odor started, about a week ago. However within the past 3 or so days, I have noticed a very light pink color on the toilet paper I use when I go to the bathroom. Any ideas on what this could be? Is this normal? I have never had this happen before or know of anyone else experiencing similar things. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hey : ) I'm totally new to this community, and I basically need some advice.
I think I might have had thrush for about a year and a half, stupidly havent ever used any treatments for it, I've just been too emabarrassed to ask my Mum, see a doctor or buy something myself.
About a month ago, the itching got really bad, I started getting a clear sort of discharge, and the vaginal area got really sore, red and slightly inflamed.
Sometimes the itching is unbearable, and even clothes feel uncomfortable.
It really stings when I pee too.
Last night was awful, so I checked this morning and I've got a bright red, sort of sun burn looking rash going almost towards my anal area.
I'm kind of worried, is it just a bad case of thrush or something?

Some extra info...
- I'm only 13.
- I started my periods when I was 10.
- I've been using tampons for about 4 months now.
- I used to bath in baths with bubbly sort of stuff, but recently I've been using oilatum because I thought it would be a bit more soothing to my sensitive areas.

Help?!

2 Sundays ago, I experienced a pain that felt similar to having a kidney stone, in addition to searing pain in my urethra. I thought that a steady intake of water would alleviate the problem. However, the pain worsened in my lower back, and I ended up sustaining an awful fever. It became apparent that the problem was actually a serious UTI, so I went to the doctor last Wednesday and he prescribed me a 10 day course of Levaquin.

While the Levaquin has been very successful in curing my UTI (I plan on following up sometime this week just to double check), I've been experiencing some troubling adverse effects. I've been unable to sleep for the past several days and I feel slightly dizzy; I've also been having headaches. I also feel pain in my lower leg muscles and tingling sensations in my feet. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these effects, and if the effects go away immediately once the drug therapy is discontinued. I have 2 pills left, but I don't think I want to prolong feeling like this anymore. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance for your help!
