Period...and then no period?

So, yesterday, after many days of elevated temps, (see chart here www.fertilityfriend.com/home/238f66), DH and I had sex. We started with foreplay, and then noticed that I was bleeding. I got up and went to the bathroom, and was absolutely sure it was my period. Clots, cramps, the whole nine yards.

This made me jump all over getting him to finally try period sex, using the "first five days" rule, to have sex WITHOUT a condom for the first time since July.

After sex, I put in my cup and went to bed. Woke up this morning, took the cup out...

Nothing.

Not a damned thing. Not even a tinge of color to the bitty bit of mucus in the cup.

No bleeding all day, no cramping, no PMS signs at all.

Wtf? Was that not really my period? Could I be pregnant? I have tons of tests, I can take one if y'all think there is a risk, whenever it will be accurate. Advise me, oh vagpag goddesses and other minor deities! I'm at, like, 15 dpo (i think, I missed temping a few times...alarm clock got replaced since then!), and this is the longest LP I've had. Even taking a conservative estimate, and assuming ovulation on the day I didn't temp, before the really obvious thermal shift, I'm at 11 dpo, which is still long for my average of 9.

Please help!

If you were pregnant enough to stop your period, then you'd probably be pregnant enough to show on a pregnancy test (I sure was, with decidual bleeding...). I'd wait a couple more days just to be extra positive it's not coming back (having been stopped by the sex somehow), then use first morning pee. (And I just got to this message after getting up and reading the f-list subscriptions. O:(   )

Okay, I tried a test this morning, and it was negative. Hopefully it's right....

If you're in the US, you can stock up on Dollar Tree store tests (reputedly they carry them, and they are just as good as most of their more expensive cousins), and try another test in a week if you get no period.

Some people do have their periods disrupted by sex, some have periods just stopping and re-starting for no reason... Re-test if the bleeding doesn't come back, but don't fret otherwise, I'd say.

I'm not familiar enough with the acronyms & phases to comment for sure, but doesn't your temperature usually remain elevated up until ovulation, and then drop (right before, right after? during?) ovulation? So if your temps were elevated, wouldn't that mean you were set to have a temp drop + ovulation? Which would mean you had sex at ovulation time. But like I said, I'm not remember which is the luteal phase, and I don't know what dpo stands for, so maybe I'm misinterpreting.

As far as the bleeding...I don't know, but I've had weird things with my period starting, then stopping, or being completely done (I thought) only to come back for a brief encore performance. Over the past few years (I'm 36) I've had brief cramps + spotting during ovulation, and over the last few months that spotting has gotten a little bit heavier (still not clotty, though).

Nope! Temps elevate the day after ovulation, and stay elevated till period time, or until you have a baby, if you're pregnant.

Luteal phase is the time between ovulation and period.
DPO means "days past ovulation"

Really?!? Nobody has ever mentioned that before to me...Oh, I hope you're right. I'm clucky as hell and really really want a baby, but I think DH would at least lose his belief in FAM if not be suspicious of my motives in asking for no-condom sex, if I got pregnant now.

Still no period today. I really hope you're right...

I don't think it will, actually. The flow might decrease during intercourse (this is what's happened to me, personally), but it won't stop the flow completely.

Agreed. I'm not sure how this can work. There's a certain amount of endometrium that gets shed during a menstrual period. Intercourse could alter the rate of flow, at least temporarily, but I don't see how it could signal to the body to stop having a period altogether.
