Hi everyone,

This seems like a very helpful community so I thought I'd post my question here instead of on a website like YahooAnswers or something like that.

Let me first start out by saying that I am a virgin. I have never had sex in my life, but I have done other sexual things with my current boyfriend.

A lot of people say I'm being paranoid about what I'm asking here, but believe it or not I'm having a pregnancy scare. I'm going to go into detail here so you guys can get every single point.

About a week and a half ago I had oral sex with my boyfriend. I didn't get any sperm on my hands, but he did wipe himself off on a napkin. When we threw it away I don't remember if I touched the napkin or not. He tells me I didn't, but for question's sake, lets say I did. I don't remember any moisture on my hands as I drove home, and it was really cold out. We live up north. Anyway, once I got home, I went to use the bathroom and wiped myself off with a clean tissue. I forgot to wash my hands before doing this and I started to become scared that if I had touched the napkin with sperm on it, it might have somehow gotten near my vagina when I wiped.

My boyfriend assures me that I'm not pregnant. So do my friends and even some counselors. I started to believe that too until I started noticing some milky discharge a few days before my period was due. This is usually normal, and let me also add that I am on birth control, but I was taking antibiotics a few days before the incident happened so I don't know how effective my birth control was at the time. I started reading about implantation bleeding and got pretty scared.

My period is supposed to come tomorrow, the 30th. For the past two days I've been experiencing some milky brown discharge that dries quickly in my underwear. I've read that it's a sign of early pregnancy and I'm pretty much freaking out about it. I have also taken three First Response Pregnancy tests and all of them have come back negative in the past three days. I'm supposed to get my period tomorrow, and I don't know what's going on with me. Could any of you please give me some answers?

I understand my question might be laughable to some of you, but I really am stressing out about it. Any comfort or help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

hi. i have some questions i'm really curious about. i think there might have been some questions similar to mine that i found in previous posts that i searched through, but...i don't know, i just need some advice/reassurance regarding my specific situation since everyone seems really friendly and comforting in this community.  :)

1) i lost my virginity early this month, and since then, i've had sex (protected sex each time) around a few times. the first time was really horrible/bloody and the worst pain i've felt in my life. i realized that it brought on my period right after. second time was still pretty painful, but i managed, and thereafter, everything went smooth with no blood. however, the last time i had sex, there was no pain, but there was blood, so my boyfriend and i didn't even finish. i was confused as to what happened...and the bleeding didn't stop; my period was due perhaps a few days later, but it seemed to have induced an early period - well, i'm pretty sure this was my period, but i'm having thoughts if there's anything wrong or i don't know...an unexpected pregnancy? chylamydia? the pregnancy thought was induced by a friend who kept joking that i'm probably pregnant since i'm getting sudden crazy cravings. now i'm just paranoid.

2) i'm planning on going to planned parenthood sometime for the first time. i do have health insurance, but it's a family plan. i'd prefer if my parents didn't know about this. do i have the option of not using my health insurance plan, yet getting a free checkup? i'm a college student and have no job. i know it's based on a sliding income situation, but i hear mixed responses when it comes to college students. and if i'm going to be sexually active, i don't think i want to solely rely on condoms. given my situation, am i eligible for free pills or other birth control methods? i don't want to seem like i want free things or anything, but i really don't have the money.

sorry, i know it's long. thanks a lot for reading!

After sex, I usually experience a little bit of a burning sensation, but nothing like last night. Last night, I had sex with my boyfriend of over a year, with whom I've been having sex for a little under a year. I use the NuvaRing for birthcontrol and don't have any particular complaints about it. I've had UTIs in the past (I have a lot of kidney stone problems) so I know what those are like...but last night I had sex with him for over an hour and when we finally finished my vagina was burning excrutiatingly. Any idea on what this could be? I don't really think it's a UTI because I don't have the frequency or the urgency and it's more vaginal anyway...and then I don't know if it's a yeast infection because I haven't really had any discharge or itching, just this incredible burning. Suggestions?

It's fairly common to see people here worried about pregnancy over all sorts of things. A number of these people are on birth control, using condoms, or not have PIV sex. This, plus the comments they generate, show that it's pretty common to be terrified of pregnancy when you're just starting out with sex, even if the risk is actually quite low.

Soooo is it weird that I wasn't worried at all about it, and totally trusted my birth control? I feel like it's a little odd lol. I'm far more paranoid now (five years after losing my virginity) than I ever was before. This is likely do to my experiences with the morning after pill and having once been pregnant, but the fear of pregnancy never once entered my head other than in situations where I feel that fear was valid (sex for the first time without any sort of protection, very screwy pill taking), and even now, I trust my birth control 99% of the time (condoms get zero trust though).

itching?

Hi everyone.  i looked under some of the subsections for the answer to this question, but am coming up short.

For the past few days--I'd say three or so--I've noticed an itching sensation around my vagina.  There is no change in the odor or appearance of discharge, only this occasional itch that is moderately uncomfortable.  I haven't had any sex with my boyfriend in at least a week and half (yay, distance!).  At first I thought I was having a reaction to a new soap, but when I stopped using that, the itching did not go away.  Today I noticed that the sensation is sort of...creeping backward, which I can assure you is not uncomfortable.

I I have had BV before and this is nothing like that at all, and with yeast infections there would be some change in discharge and odor as well.  Is it possible that I just got some sort of irritant inside and my body is taking longer to expel it, or has this happened to anyone else?  I don't really want to go to the doctor if this is something benign.

Thank you!

It seems like my bladder has gotten a lot smaller. Weird as this sounds, but I find myself having to go to the bathroom all the time. Nothing hurts, except sometimes I do feel ovary/bladder pain after I go to the bathroom, because I "held it in 2 long". I've noticed that it's either discharge, or pee because my bladder can't hold it in. Or both combined? I do take in a lot of fluid, but I noticed that I have to go to the bathroom ALL the time.(No possibility of being pregnant)I just wanted to see if I could get any input..Thank You

I don't have much time to post now, and will elaborate later, but I am considering getting one but I'm not sure if that will solve the problem, those who have gotten it has it solved the problem?  Did/do you still feel pain afterwards when attempting sex?  What did you end up doing to solve the problem?

Thanks :)

I'm more curious than concerned at the moment, but I have to wonder if this is normal or if I should get myself to a doctor about it.

Some background:

I'm on combined birth control for my endometriosis. I also have the unfortunate luck of having migraines with auras, which I know I shouldn't be taking a combined pill because of the increased risk of stroke, but according to my doctor I have to. One of my migraine triggers is the hormonal flux just before my period (from what I've been reading lately it sounds like it might be caused by the drop in estrogen), but so far the birth control doesn't seem to trigger them all the time (I still get them occasionally, but nothing more unusual than before I went on birth control). So I haven't worried about it too much.

I recently switched from the Nuva Ring to Yaz, back to back with no period in between, and I've been on Yaz for 10 days now. I've noticed nothing different between the two pills except nausea at first and the fact that I can now feel other things besides a constant depression. Yay!

But what concerns me is that I've noticed the last few times I've had an orgasm (in the last couple of days) that I get this vision disturbance that's a lot like the migraine aura. It's kind of sparkly, in a snowflake like pattern, and it doesn't go away for a while (I haven't timed it yet but I think it lasts for 10 to 15 minutes). But it's also not accompanied by anything else. No pain, no nausea, and it doesn't act like my migraine aura (which is a cresent moon shaped thing that progressively gets bigger and goes away after exactly 30 minutes). I'm perfectly fine when it goes away.

Obviously this isn't normal for me and it's never happened before, and maybe I'm being paranoid because of the risk- but is this something I should worry about?

Thanks!

So, I've been on my new HBCpill for a month almost and I've been spotting like crazy. It's annoying and embarassing. My boyfriend and I will get all hot and heavy, ready to go for it and BOOM, there i am spotting again. So then we have to stop. But my problem is that this happens way too much and I hate having to just stop because I'm bleeding. I think he would be ok with it, but I don't quite know how to ask him. He'll play with me while I'm on my period, so I don't think he's scared about it. But when I'm all hot and heavy, and clearly wet and ready to go, how can I get him to just do me anyways? How do I bring it up and reassure him that I'm ok with it.

<3 Thanks.

Hi wonderful VagPag members,

I'm currently smacking myself for doing something I've never done in 5-odd years of pill-taking: I missed a pill. I usually take it 8:30 am pronto, no problem. However, on a family vacation, I completely forgot to take the pill one morning (I'm pretty sure it was the morning of the 28th, although it could possibly have been the 27th). I realized on the morning of the 29th, when I took two pills at once. This was all in my second week of pills. I have been taking my pills normally ever since. I am currently experiencing breakthrough bleeding :( although it seems to be letting up.

I called my OBGYN office and talked to an RN about what I should do, but her advice seems to conflict with my pill pamphlet information. Here are the different opinions:

1. Use backup protection until I get my next normal period (from the RN).
2. Continue taking my pills normally, with no backup protection (from my pill pamphlet advice for what to do after one missed pill).
3. Use backup protection for seven days of active pills, then continue as normal (my pill pamphlet advises this for two missed pills in a row).

So what do I do? I'm in a monogamous, tested relationship, and honestly we really dislike using condoms--and we live in different cities, so we don't get that much time together. Have I ruined the possibility of condom-free New Year's sex? Or is my nurse being overly cautious? Thanks for any help!

So yesterday I found a bump on the inside of my labia, to the right of my clitoris. The bump is larger and rounder than my clitoris, like a marble under my skin. It hurts to the touch and it hard. I've been taking birth control for about 3 and a half months, do you think the BC is connected to this mysterious lump? It's really scaring me. What could it be?
[identity profile] lala-luvyou.livejournal.com
I switched to a different kind of birth control and around the same time I've been getting the worst hangovers, they're really bad!
This is a silly question but can bc affect how your body handles alcohol?

*edit* Thank you so much for your responses. You guys are so awesome and it's so nice to be part of a safe community where you can ask anything without getting a negative response.

So basically in the past I was on Loestrin 24 and fencom fe, I did not have very good luck w/ the BC pill at all, due to some health issues. So I went off it completley. I decided I wanted to try something different and decided on the ring and my doc said that would be good for me considering my conditions, I understand the directions on the ring completly, but he told me b/c my hormones are all off to keep it in 3 months and then take it out get a period ext ext instead of 3 weeks, this is confusing to me.. has anyone done it this way or should I call him and tell him I just wanna do the way the directions say.

This is mostly a curiousity post, because I've always been under the impression that most guys love receiving oral.

My boyfriend really, really loves giving me oral, I think it makes him happier than it makes me sometimes (I do enjoy it a lot though!) but when I presented the idea of me returning the favor, he explained that he really didnt like it. He's had two girlfriends before me, and apparently tried once with each one, but the entire time he felt like he was being an asshole for getting a girl to go down on him. He's a very sensitive person in that way, and positively worships me when it comes to intimacy, but I really dont want him to feel guilty about receiving all of the pleasure. Personally, I've always thought the idea of oral on a guy as gross and after seeing porn it always feels demeaning, which I think is where he gets the same vibe...but after getting into a sexual relationship with him, doing it with him wouldnt bother me. Basically though, I've never pressed it further, even though we discuss it once in a while...and he has said "Maybe one day we can try it again." , but I'd never push the issue.
Have any of you had similar experiences?? Is it just me or has porn ruined blow jobs? D:

Also, in the case of if he ever did let me do it...theres the question of my semen allergy. I've been pretty sure I have a semen allergy since going through months of confusing after-sex pain and swelling with yeast infections. My doctors agree, but really havent gone beyond suggesting condoms as far as treatment. Since I really, really dislike condoms with sex (Absolutely no feeling and just general plastic-y passionlessness) I've stuck to washing with a cloth and warm water after sex, which works fine for me, and cuts down on the discomfort afterwards. I am not so sure though, what to expect if my mouth came in contact with semen. Is there anyone out there with semen allergies who have experimented?? I'm not that uncomfortable with using a condom for oral if needed, but if it isnt required (I hate the taste of latex eww dentist's gloves.) I would like to just skip it.

Thanks! :D

So I got this electric shaver for Christmas (from my boyfriend's mom--awkward, note to self to not put personal items on my Amazon wish list). Does anyone have this shaver or recommendations on how to use electric shavers vs. normal razors (wet or dry, with or without shaving cream?)? I tried it briefly on my (dry) legs and it seemed like it was working well.

Thanks!

Okay, so I haven't had a period since starting college, late in august. (Possibly since July. I don't remember, but my period is typically at the end of the month.)
I'm not sexually active. at first I didn't notice; i'd been regular lately, but haven't always had a history of regularity, so skipping a month or two didn't bug me. (also, in truth, i don't really pay attention. i generally have manageable flows, and little pain that can easily be cured with an advill and a hot pad) When I did start to notice, i figured it was something about a diet change (look, all the meat in the dining halls are icky.) and tried to even out my diet to something more normal for me. (Omnivore here, i like my steak rare, and i take an all in one vitamin semi-regularly) No change. Eventually, in late november, I scheduled a visit with campus health services, and she said that it was called secondary amenorrhea and was fairly common for freshmen due to stress, but i could schedule an appointment with a gynecologist if i was concerned. Now, i'm not terribly stressed; yes, some, but not overly. More so then normal, but i'm fairly mellow. Finally, I've been on break roughly a month now, and still nothing. Break is a relaxing time, surrounded by family and normal routine, so. Oh, and should it be pertinent, my wisdom teeth are coming in and i donate blood regularly, i don't drink, smoke or do drugs, nor am i anorexic or have had any significant weight loss recently.
Any ideas? If going the gynecologist route, help? I've never done anything of the sort, and haven't the faintest idea of what to look for/do. thanks in advance.

So this is my first period with a Diva Cup....Yay!

I usually get my period on wednesdays (I'm on Alesse and it almost always comes wenesday or thursday) Last night I put it in just for a trial run and it was great, I didn't really have problems putting it in or taking it out.

Tonight I put it in as I am about to go to sleep because I don't know if my period will be there when I wake up (I kind of want it to be so I can deal with cleaning and reinserting it at home rather than fussing at work!.  But anyway, I'm not sure if the cup popped open. And I know I am supposed to rotate it one full turn and I think I did but I couldn't really feel it moving, and it wasn't a fast turn it was kind of resistant. Also I keep pinching myself with my nails! And they aren't even really long! but ow!

So basically how do I know if it is popped open? am I supposed to feel it turning AND how to I stop nicking myself with my nails?!

Will a pap smear detect if you have a yeast infection or a bladder infection/UTI? If so, will these results come up as "abnormal"?
