itching?

Hi everyone.  i looked under some of the subsections for the answer to this question, but am coming up short.

For the past few days--I'd say three or so--I've noticed an itching sensation around my vagina.  There is no change in the odor or appearance of discharge, only this occasional itch that is moderately uncomfortable.  I haven't had any sex with my boyfriend in at least a week and half (yay, distance!).  At first I thought I was having a reaction to a new soap, but when I stopped using that, the itching did not go away.  Today I noticed that the sensation is sort of...creeping backward, which I can assure you is not uncomfortable.

I I have had BV before and this is nothing like that at all, and with yeast infections there would be some change in discharge and odor as well.  Is it possible that I just got some sort of irritant inside and my body is taking longer to expel it, or has this happened to anyone else?  I don't really want to go to the doctor if this is something benign.

Thank you!

I was about to post this. I have a similar situation, but it's not migrating anywhere. I've had it on and off for several weeks. I've found trimming or shaving to ease the itch, but it has yet to go away completely :( and I have no idea why!!

In addition to the new soap, have you switched laundry detergents? Is the itch cyclic (always at the same time in your menstrual cycle)? Do you feel particularly moist down there?

Also, a yeast infection can manifest as an itchy rash (like jock itch, caused by a fungus just like yeast) without discharge. You should see a doctor to diagnose it if you think it may be this, or, you can try an at-home remedy like unsweetened, plain yogurt that can't breed drug-resistant infections in case it isn't yeast at all.

I've had a yeast infection like this (in fact am battling it again) For me anyway it seems to be triggered by the lubricant on Ansell condoms. I did go to the doctor and get diagnosed the first time and she said it was the "tail end" of thrush. Id get it checked out but its possible this is what it is.

I had a yeast infection like this too. Just general itchiness/discomfort (and it hurt like hell if I had any urine "splashback" when peeing). Sitting on a washcloth soaked in yogurt once a day cleared it right up for me, even though it felt a little icky. I suspect mine was caused by using flavored lubricant.
