Anyone who has had Hymenectomy or Hymenotomy??

I don't have much time to post now, and will elaborate later, but I am considering getting one but I'm not sure if that will solve the problem, those who have gotten it has it solved the problem?  Did/do you still feel pain afterwards when attempting sex?  What did you end up doing to solve the problem?

I didn't attempt sex before my hymenectomy, but I couldn't put in tampons. I tried a few months after the hymenectommy, and it worked fine! Sex was still painful the first little while, but that was probably because I was so tense.

What was your official diagnosis/reason for the surgery?

My hymen was unbreakable, and my doctor thought it was the reason for my extremely painful (missing school 2-5 days a month) periods. We'd tried putting me on the pill to lighten them... pretty much everything. His theory was that perhaps because my hymen was so thick with, I believe, only a very small hole, my uterus was straining to push as much blood through as it wanted to push through. It didn't work quite as well as we would have hoped, to be honest.

Well I went to a primary doctor first to get the referral for the gyno she looked at me and I had explained to her my problem and basically all she told me was that a surgery existed and the gyno could do it for me.. I haven't been to the gyno yet it takes awhile to get an appointment..
