hello wonderful VPers!
i am here once again for your advice...it's kind of two questions all rolled up into one worried bunch :(
Then to make things even worse, my doctor called and told me my pap came back for "Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance". From everything I have read on here, i know that HPV is very common and I'm okay with the fact that i have it, even before my pap i always just assumed i had some strain of it because almost everyone does at some point, right? What I am worried about is, what does this mean? Does it mean I have early signs of cervical cancer? I looked up in VPs resources and found this..."(ASCUS)Some squamous cells are present which aren't normal, but they may be due to inflammation [95-98%] or pre-malignant change[2-5%]..." That made me feel a little better, but what kind of inflammation and what causes that? SHOULD i be worried? My doctor referred my to an OBGYN and said i should make the appointment soon. Are they just going to do another pap or should i be prepared for some crazy procedure? Could the non -yeast- yeastiness be related to this at all? and what can i do to fix that in the meantime?
If anyone has been through this, i'm just looking for some advice and/ or reassurance and what to expect. Thanks so much in advance.
