iceicetea.livejournal.comI was on a 14-day dose of Doxycycline for some bacterial inflammation. Because I was neg for everything under the sun, my OBGYN ruled out it was probably due to my bubble bathing/me not cleaning the tub out well enough and having a finicky vagina to begin with. (Put two-and-two together, and.. Yeah.) Anyway, 7 days in and washing properly, rather, washing LITTLE (minimal soap, etc.), eliminating bath time, I could literally FEEL (and smell, of course) my floral veer toward the norm/what it used to be. Sweet, musky, blablabla... But, now that I've finished my antibiotic, I'm pretty sure I've got - DUNDUNDUUUN - a YEAST INFECTION! Oh, yay!
My question: is it necessary I treat it? I'm not itching like a monkey, but I am a wee-bit irritated, and there is that obvious cottage cheese-esque discharge and bread/beer smell. I'm due for my period soon, and at this point I'm kinda weary about messing with my area any more than I already have/feel I should sort of let it run it's "natural" course. I do have some boric acid (which I was using ASSUMING I had BV, which of course I came back negative for, too). Would boric acid clear it up, or is that specific for BV only?
As always, thank you!
