chelsearar.livejournal.comHello VP-ers. I'm hoping that this post is ok! in brief, I am looking for resources, but I'm sure you'd like to read the whole entry, it's kind of interesting.
I'm Chelsea and I'm a senior at Vassar College, where I will be next year's president of CHOICE, which stands for Campus Health Organization for Information, Contraception and Education. Essentially, we hand out FREE safer sex supplies (barrier methods and lubes, not HBC or anything medical like that) to the campus and provide a slew of information and sponsor tons and tons of events about sex and sexuality.
What I would like from y'all are your favorite sex resources -- websites, books, videos, DVDs, articles, supplies, activities (for "study breaks" the dorms have) educators and events (especially low-cost people who we can bring to campus). I am particularly interested in gender-neutral things as well as information/whatever about virginity. But they can be about any sexuality topic you'd like. We're incredibly open-minded and welcoming.
I'm essentially trying to compile a giant list of resources to add on to what we've already got, as we're able to get a few books/DVDs a year, as well as bring in different educators and events throughout. For our meetings, we try to read an article beforehand and discuss it after the "business" part is over. I'd also like to release a list of user-friendly, non-judgemental websites and books to campus at some point (I have big plans, haha), so... SPAM ME, PLEASE!!
And also, we have a completely new exec board this year, and we're trying very hard to expand, so I'd like us to have as big of a resource pool as possible, for this year as well as years to come, after I've gone :'[
so I hope this post is ok -- I figured that everyone here is their own wealth of knowledge, and I wanted to tap into that! so thank you very much!!
oh, and just so you can get a flavor of what we've been offering, here are some of the titles from our recent workshops:
-how to have a gender-free orgasm
-mapping the clitoris
-hands-on clothes-on bondage 101
-basics of BDSM
-the hook-up culture
-pelvic proficiency (about using your pelvis for greater satisfaction during various kinds of sex)
...and that's all I can think of right now!!
thank you so so much! please, give me what you've got!!
