Hello VP-ers. I'm hoping that this post is ok! in brief, I am looking for resources, but I'm sure you'd like to read the whole entry, it's kind of interesting.
I'm Chelsea and I'm a senior at Vassar College, where I will be next year's president of CHOICE, which stands for Campus Health Organization for Information, Contraception and Education. Essentially, we hand out FREE safer sex supplies (barrier methods and lubes, not HBC or anything medical like that) to the campus and provide a slew of information and sponsor tons and tons of events about sex and sexuality.
What I would like from y'all are your favorite sex resources -- websites, books, videos, DVDs, articles, supplies, activities (for "study breaks" the dorms have) educators and events (especially low-cost people who we can bring to campus). I am particularly interested in gender-neutral things as well as information/whatever about virginity. But they can be about any sexuality topic you'd like. We're incredibly open-minded and welcoming.
I'm essentially trying to compile a giant list of resources to add on to what we've already got, as we're able to get a few books/DVDs a year, as well as bring in different educators and events throughout. For our meetings, we try to read an article beforehand and discuss it after the "business" part is over. I'd also like to release a list of user-friendly, non-judgemental websites and books to campus at some point (I have big plans, haha), so... SPAM ME, PLEASE!!
And also, we have a completely new exec board this year, and we're trying very hard to expand, so I'd like us to have as big of a resource pool as possible, for this year as well as years to come, after I've gone :'[
so I hope this post is ok -- I figured that everyone here is their own wealth of knowledge, and I wanted to tap into that! so thank you very much!!
oh, and just so you can get a flavor of what we've been offering, here are some of the titles from our recent workshops:
-how to have a gender-free orgasm
-mapping the clitoris
-hands-on clothes-on bondage 101
-basics of BDSM
-the hook-up culture
-pelvic proficiency (about using your pelvis for greater satisfaction during various kinds of sex)
...and that's all I can think of right now!!
thank you so so much! please, give me what you've got!!

http://www.uhs.wisc.edu/display_story.jsp?id=681&cat_id=38 Sexual health page
a-womans-touch.com is really good, too--it's a sex-toy store in Madison (Gee, can you tell where I"m from? XD)--that also does a lot of patient ed.
What specific topics are you looking for info on?

Date: 2008-07-21 04:59 pm (UTC)The New books on topping and bottoming are good for people just getting into it.
Shibari You can Use by Lee Harrington is fabulous for people interested in rope. Also Jay weisman's books on the subject is great for beginners.
Screw the roses give me the thorns is a pretty good reference for BDSM play as is
SM 101.
In general, I'm a big fan of the Guide to Getting On for basic sex info.
Good luck!

Date: 2008-07-21 05:00 pm (UTC)Guide to anal sex for men or women is a good book to have.
A hand in the bush is another good book.

Date: 2008-07-21 05:37 pm (UTC)Two good intro to BDSM books: The Loving Dominant (John Warren) and SM-101: A Realistic Introduction (Jay Wiseman).
Bend Over Boyfriend is a fantastic DVD on pegging (anal sex with a man, using a strap-on/dildo).
Of course, I think linking to vp and especially the Everyday Bodies Project would be a good idea. A male version of a collection like the EBP (for penises at least) can be found here: http://www.erectionphotos.com/.

Date: 2008-07-21 10:12 pm (UTC)I graduated 4 years ago so I don't know how much Choice has changed since then, but here is my input based on what it was like then-- feel free to ignore if it doesn't apply anymore.
1. I went to a female orgasm workshop-- not sure if it was run by Choice or QCVC-- but it was great. Keep the workshops coming.
2. I remember Choice being located in a room in the basement of some dorm. The one time I went to find some condoms it was not so easy to find, and the fact that it was in a concrete basement, kind of dark, made it less than optimal. If you're still in that same space, it may be worth lobbying for some space elsewhere-- like a room in Main, perhaps? And if you can't get a better space, just making the room you've got more inviting would be nice. You know, well lit, well decorated, in a non-sleazy sort of way. I'm picturing something along the lines of the Good Vibrations store here in San Francisco. It kind of looks like a candle store, or a Bath and Body Works type store, except they sell sex toys, etc.
