plan b, bloating, cramps, no period
Jul. 10th, 2008 02:29 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
okay so this is long and embarassing, but i dont know what to do. i'm sexaully active obviously, and i've had serious problems that come and go. i'm so scared to go to the doctor, because a. i've never been, scared to find out, scared for others to find out b. i live at home with my extreme religious parents who have no idea that i am sexually active. My mom is a nurse, who used to teach sex ed classes at middle school around my town. swear to god, this is worst case scenario.
so here's the scoop: i had sex when i was 15, it was protected but afterwards for like a month my stomach just like turned. it was totally weird. i tried to ignore it, and i did. i didnt have sex again until i was 17. and then that's when shit started getting more weird. my stomach would turn and then when i had sex it hurt if they got too deep. then after sex i'd have issues like diarrea for a few days, cramps without a period, stuff like that. then recently i read up on HIV just randomly. i have several of the symptoms like headaches, the chronic stuff, and thrush. i have had that before.. i think. its like white spots on my throat, hurts when i swallow type deal. i had no idea that this could be HIV. i thought it was just a cold. I've had sex with multiple partners, ALWAYS with a condom, since day one, so i didnt think i really had to worry, but now im freaked out. On top of that.... My problem now is that i have had sex with my boyfriend. first boy without a condom, but he was a virgin before me. we started having sex about a month ago, a week after my period ended. We've been having sex a lot since then. I took Plan B twice within 10 days, because i always get paranoid. About three days after i took the second package i started cramping like my period and then lightly bleeding. it looked like dry blood the first day or two, and then it was brighter with clots, and it ended a couple days later. could that have been from too much plan b or does it mean it's working? or was that a period? that would have been too soon to be my period, and it hasn't happened since. i should have started my period around the first or second of july, but haven't yet. I took a pregnancy test, came out negative. i had lower back pain all day today. constipated and bloated on and off for a few days. ,especially after i eat like bigger meals, and no period.... i really don't think im pregnant, i think my period is just kind of knocked off its axis from the amount of plan b i took in such a short time. and it is always delayed after i start having sex... just never delayed this long.. anyways, could you help me decipher what these symptoms could be? maybe anything other than HIV? or encourage me to go to the doctor? anyone had this happen? or with plan b? i know i should go to the doc. i'm 18, and i'm such a baby. I'm just more scared my parents will find out, and then they'll find out i have stds or a kid on the way, and be extreme dissappointed.

Vulvapedia Update: TransWhat?
Jul. 10th, 2008 11:53 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Hi, VPers!
Thanks to a suggestion from one of our members over in
contact_vp, we're pleased to announce the addition of the website TransWhat? to our Vulvapedia entry on inclusion.
As its subtitle says, it's a "guide toward allyship." And it has lots of fantastic information -- including a glossary of terms, common myths debunked, and some "how-to" suggestions for becoming an ally -- for people who are interested in becoming more knowledgeable about and supportive of trans people and trans concerns.
If you have a few extra minutes to surf the Int0rnetz (and maybe even if you don't!), we recommend that you check it out!
Happy reading!

Going off Birth Control
Jul. 10th, 2008 02:14 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
So since the boyfriend and I split up, I have decided that there was no positives in staying on bc. I have been on the patch, which made me sick, and the ring, which made me gain weight and lose my libido. So I am looking forward to being off of it. However, I have a silly question - has anyone seen a reduction in breast size when going off of birth control? I am happy with my boobs finally, and would hate to lose them. Thanks for any input!
![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I just got my Nuva Ring at Planned Parenthood, well at the pharmacy, but I had gotten it prescribed there.
I'm terrified of putting it in, I mean... I think it won't go up all the way since I have small hands (lol)
I don't know maybe I'm just paranoid.. Any pointers on inserting it?
& Is it safe using it after You just had token contraception?

HSV questions
Jul. 10th, 2008 03:49 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I've been doing some research about this, but haven't been able to find the advice I am seeking...
My boyfriend called me the other night to ask if I had ever had a cold sore (I never have). He said he got them occasionally when he was a kid.
He called me today, a total wreck, and told me that he has HSV-1 on his genitals. I spent most of the time on the phone trying to comfort him and not worry about how it might affect me.
He said that he had an outbreak of HSV-1 on his lips about a month ago... I had spent time with him the week before the breakout.
Last weekend we saw each other and I gave him oral sex. Apparently some time after the weekend he had a breakout on his genitals.
Is there ANY way I could have given it to him, even though I have never had a breakout anywhere?
Could he have given me the virus on my lips when I saw him the week before he had a breakout and I just have never shown signs?
His doctor confirmed that it is HSV-1 on his genitals. What difference does that REALLY make from HSV-2?
I'm afraid I will be too nervous about contracting it on my genitals when we have PIV sex. His doctor said to always use a condom (that's fine with me) to best prevent it. I have heard that HSV-2 can be transmitted when there is not a breakout. Is that the same for HSV-1 (if so, wouldn't I have gotten it on my lips by now, we've been together for 4 years.)?
Is there a way for me to be tested for herpes if I have never had a breakout? What precautions should I take?
I'm sorry for all the questions and TIA for any advice/answers you've got-- this was quite a shock and I am still processing it.

Birth Control & Blood Clots
Jul. 10th, 2008 05:05 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Okay... here we go. So, I just got done at the doctor's office and I went in just to get a new inhaler (because of my asthma that's flaring up with allergies). Well, she said there's a chance I could've gotten a clot in my legs from the birth control. I'm scared, but I really don't want to go to the ER without insurance and I know many of you have waaaaaay more knowledge on this stuff than I do. What are the chances? Is it fairly common? What will they do at the ER???
If this background info helps
Birth Control Brand: Apri
Symptoms & Important Info:
-leg spasms and pain after I get off the bike when I get home. They've been spasming for about an hour now.
-just started birth control June 27
-heaviness/tightness/pain more in the right side of chest than left
-poor circulation
-overweight
-occasional smoker
-Poly-Cystic & recently detected a cyst in right armpit (doctor's seen it... could this be why my right side hurts and the legs are just from biking???)
I know you guys aren't doctors but any advice would be nice.
ETA: I'm on multivitamins, drink water, etc.

Irritation
Jul. 10th, 2008 07:11 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
For years I've been battling irritation with my underwear. You know, where the elastic is around the legs, it becomes red and irritated. So I try to rotate every few days between the 'more comfortable' and 'less comfortable' elastics, but of course, depending on the outfit that day would depend on the underwear I needed. So I was wondering if it was okay to go completely underwearless and wear a loose skirt for a couple of days to let them 'air out' so to speak. I typically wear jeans and figured that would irritate me more if I went without the panties, but if I wear a skirt that shouldn't be an issue. Also, I don't really 'groom' myself...will my hair be noticeable if I go without panties, or should I trim it?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
Baths and BV
Jul. 10th, 2008 08:25 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I'm treating a BV infection right now. Would it be bad to take a bath right now? I'm not going to use any soap, I just want to sit in some hot water for a while. It's been a bad week. :(
incredibly specific
Jul. 10th, 2008 08:37 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
so, I had my second colposcopy over a month ago and I just recently came down with a yeast infection. I started monistat 3 yesterday and noticed a little blood when i inserted the ovule and when it woke up this morning. i didn't think it would be an issue since it was not specifically stipulated by my doctor, but I'm none the less concerned. is there a problem with taking it?
![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Alright, here we go.
So I've been on an HBC pill since April, no problems. My period regulated, I have yet to get pregnant as far as I can tell, and I had no crazy side effects! Lucky me, right?
Okay, well, the thing is, for some reason this afternoon, I started having weird things happen. Like, symptoms of my periods BEFORE I went on the pill. Moodiness, cramps; all that jazz. Seriously - it feels like I'm going to start my period. Problem is, I just had my period two weeks ago, and I'm still halfway through my pack! not even on the placebo week!
In the past month, I have gone through a move, had a rejected college loan, had a poor diet, poor sleeping habits; general stress and issues that as far as I know can affect periods. I always understood that they make them come later though.
Is it possible all these things are piling up and making me possibly have a period due to weird factors, or am I just making an odd connection? I mean, it really does feel JUST like it, though I can't say yet. I guess it's worrying me that maybe i did something wrong. Haven't been on any other medications or anything.
Oh, and as long as I'm here, anyone know anything about primrose oil as a PMS reliever/helper for breast pain? My doctor mentioned it, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with it.

[Back story: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]
We're still not having sex. :(
Basically after the surgery the doctor told her she'll still need to stretch things out... and that's the part that's not happening. We bought the dialator kit from vaginismus.com and it's better than before the surgery by a little bit, she can fit the second one in when before the hymenectomy that wouldn't have worked...but there's still no stretching. She says the second dialator just feels like it barely fits in and it doesn't stop being painful, it just becomes bearable, but the tissue never really relaxes or starts to feel like she could ever go to the next size.
We thought maybe there's more hymen to cut? She had an appointment today with Dr Friele, and again it was immediate crying and mewling in pain when the doctor tried to put 2 fingers in. One is uncomfortable! But Eleanor said it's not hymen, it's just muscle. There's no more hymen to cut, it's just that her muscles are clamped so hard and won't relax.
My gf was given a referral slip for physical therapy for Pelvic-Floor Pain/Tension : Dyspareunia. The dr noted "severe" next to it. She's going to call tomorrow if she can find time at lunch. Eleanor said if PT doesn't help, then there are doctors at that hospital who can do a "vaginal resection" which is apparently some very serious surgical method to open her up so to speak... scary.
Any words of advice? We've been together over 1.5 years now and I really miss sex!! I haven't pushed her at all. She's agreed that we can start trying anal sex on her (you may remember she performs anal on me, and it's sooo good :) and we're expecting that to be far far less problematic than this is turning out to be... Any tips for her on this are appreciated too.
She feels totally broken and fucked up. No one should have to go through this just to show love physically... :(

Another post... BV and yeast infection
Jul. 10th, 2008 10:54 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Sorry for my constant posting. HAH.
So I started the treatment for BV (the 7 days of pills that taste horrid), and I took the 1 day pill for the yeast infection, and I was also given miconazole cream that i'm supposed to inject every night.
When I inject it, it itches like crazy. I read in a post sometime before mine that people had this reaction, but reallly... should I keep using it? Or should I try something else?
Any suggestions?
The nurse that diagnosed me said I had BV. Then she said I didn't have any real signs of a yeast infection but she, "still suspects I might have it." (what the fuck?) So she gave me this medication, but I'm paranoid about using it if I don't have it.

Hair Removals!
Jul. 10th, 2008 11:25 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Yes. I tried the tags, but apparently Hair Removal - General is broken. At least, it didn't let me through, and I'm not looking for it to VANISH entirely.
Anyway.
I'm 19. About six months ago I got out of a largely abusive and really unhealthy relationship. Much fun was had, but I was pretty freaked out by guys for a while. Recently, I met this total sweetheart gentle giant type- or at least to me, since my ex was short- and I guess we're giving it a go.
The point is, the ex didn't give a crap about pubic hair, and I didn't really pay much attention to it, so I don't care what it's doing. Do we all see where this is going?
Yep. Gentle suggestion to get some grooming done. I don't particularly want to kill it dead, but I can't seem to find any info tips on what should be going on, just... How to get it done. Technical terms. Not so much little diagrams with, "DON'T CHOP THIS OFF". I'm an audiovisual learner, so the step-by-step... Not helping so much. Especially the very schoolhouse sites I've found.
Anyone here have any tips and tricks for getting the job done? I know I'm going to get plenty of, "Do what YOU want!" but... I'm terribly afraid of giving myself a bad haircut. I'm awkward enough as is.
So, the help, let it come to me.
EDIT: Since I'm lazy and don't like writing the same reply over and over again, thanks for the help and suggestions =) Since I just got paid I went out of my way (or rather, my father's way) to get myself a trimmer- which sounds like a lawnmower, but alas, what can I do?- and am now uncomfortably itching up a storm.
But hey, a new plus side is that I'm shedding even less. Woo.
=D Thanks bunches!
