HPV: Trying to get info for a worried friend

One of my dear friends was just diagnosed with HPV and she is devastated. I'm trying to be there the best I can, but I don't know what to say to make things better for her. I'm going with her to her ob/gyn visit next Thursday - she's having a colposcopy (sp?) and wants me to come in the room with her. I have no problems with doing that - I hope that if it were me she'd do the same thing, too.

I'm writing from my cell so I can't check Memories or Tags, but I'll try scrolling back to see if I can find anything relating to HPV. Just any experiences (good or bad) that I can share with her. She's not so concerned about the warts (she doesn't have any, her doctor said), but she is petrified of cervical cancer. I didn't want to ask her, but is it too late for something like Gardisil?


ETA: She is 31, if that makes any difference, and single. What effect will this have on her sexual future? She is worried that she'll never be able to have sex again. (Which is the least of her concerns, but it's still a concern.)

nuvaring and amoxicillin?

I know this has probably been asked thousands of times (although I checked the archives and only came up with older entries, a lot of which had since been deleted...) but I was prescribed amoxicillin to combat a sinus infection.

I've heard antibiotics don't affect the nuvaring (because of different methods of absorption?) but pregnancy is NOT NOT NOT an option right now. would backup be recommended? and if so, for how long?

(I'm on my ring-free week until sunday, if that's a factor at all.)

I found this post but it doesn't sound 100% confident, at least not from what I see in my 4am skimming. I guess the obvious answer would be to abstain/use backup, but we seriously avoid condoms at all costs these days.

I need help. You guys are always overflowing with tons of amazing advice, so I'm hoping that you'll have some for me. 

I've been with my SO for almost two months now. To be blunt about this (and I'm sorry), he can't hold his load. When we decided to start doing the deed, he told me that he hadn't had sex in a year. So the first two times we had sex, I passed the issue off as him not having any in awhile. However, this problem persisted for a few more weeks. Then, one glorious amazing time, he lasted for an hour and then another hour or two for round 2. But EVERY OTHER TIME, it has been in the range from 20 seconds to 2 minutes. We had sex last night, AS SOON as he entered me he came. 

I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of cause, frankly, I want to get fucked. I have tried countless different positions. I've tried going down on him and taking him to the edge, and then changing it up to slow him down. I've tried going down on him and finishing. I've tried NOT going down on him. I've tried having him do somethings by himself before I get there.

Nothing works! I'm so frustrated by this whole mess! I feel like a horrible person for being so upset, imagine how he must feel. But it has to get better...really.

What can I/we/he do to improve this situation? And, while we're here, do any of you know of any medical conditions that exhibit these symptoms? He's only 26 years old so, to me, the obvious issue doesn't seem feasible. But then again, I could very well be wrong.

i was wondering if anyone here ever contracted gonorrhea or chlamydia of the throat. if so, what kind of symptoms did you experience? and if you didn't experience any, how did you discover you had it (as i don't usually hear of people going for a routine oral std screening}? i'm just curious because i've seen posts on here about concerns, but not anyone actually having one..i guess because they may not be as significant/dangerous as in the genitals..but yeah, just curious. tia :)

i have a small cyst like pimple thing i have been battling sine around the 4th. i have soaked it, talked to it, applied stuff to it all to no avail. i try to squeeze it and it literally runs and hides from me. i cant get it! it also has no head
i want to try and lance it with a needle
any tips/suggestions on making this not hurt as bad as it possibly could?

Soy milk, DHEA

I read in a magazine a while back that soya milk can be good for stabalizing hormones and increasing libido. So I bought some, have taken to the taste of it, but googling this afternoon have discovered it actually can LOWER libido. Most of these posts did seem to be from men, and to be honest there were few of them, but there were also few of any information regarding the claims I read in the magazine. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Also, does anyone know if it's viable to buy DHEA in the UK? Apparently here it's only available via doctor's prescription. I can't find it in health stores.That being said, UK websites seem to stock it. Is this the same thing and what I should be buying? And how many mg a day should I be taking to see imporvement in libido?

a little scared and confused about this skin

Today i was having a shower and I felt something "loose" in my vagina. So i got out and looked at it in the mirror. When i looked there was a strange piece of skin just hanging there it was attached to the enterance of the vagina but just hanging out there. It doesnt hurt or anything i couldnt even feel it when i didnt realize it was there. 
Is this normal do i need to get to a doctor ASAP?

i have been tested for std's in april and had a pap smear - luckily no troubles showed up. recently i have terminated a relationship with a boy, who has been seeing other people while with me. we did not use condoms, hence my concerns.
today i went to my doctor and had a pap and blood work done. also we have discovered genital warts :( from my understanding the virus that causes genital warts may be dormant for months, so it is difficult to say who i contracted it from or when. i'm calm overall since genital warts can happen to anyone and we have discovered them pretty early on (the results of the rest of the tests should come by within two weeks - i am quite nervous regarding that, but trying not to freak out just yet) i'm a little afraid that there are things i don't know about this condition - for example after the wart is removed and (hopefully) i show no high risk HPV strains, what other dangers are there? i'm concerned because i started seeing somebody else now and we have been intimate. how do i approach the topic? should i also notify previous partners regarding my condition?

Hello everyone..
So my boyfriend is great, and I love love love having sex with him, and all that stuff. However, lately I've been having trouble getting wet. I don't know why. I am still very attracted to him. But we start making out and I just don't feel that horny. He does all the right things that he used to, but it seems to take forever if I get wet at all. I don't know what to do because it's really stressing me out. He keeps asking if I'm not into him anymore or if I'm seeing someone else! I love him so much, and I find him just as gorgeous as ever. What can I do? I don't want to have to go buy lube. I would much rather find some way to get my natural juices flowing again.
My doctor recently lowered my antidepressants from 300mg to 225..I was on 300 mg for years and years. Do you think there is any way that could have anything to do with this? It's really bothering me.
