Strange sensation in uterus
Jul. 1st, 2008 08:23 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Hello everyone! I found out about this community through another that I'm in. Someone suggested that you guys might be able to help. :)
For a few days now I've had a really weird sensation in my uterus. I can actually feel my uterus (not by touch, that's just the area the sensation covers). It's sort of like a pressure. Not painful but somewhat uncomfortable. To be honest it reminds me of when I was pregnant with my daughter. She would push her head into my cervix all the time and this is almost like that. Except I'm not pregnant as far as I know and when she would do that I was about 8 months preggo.
In the other group someone suggested uterine prolapse and another suggested uterine fibroids. I've read up on both and to be honest I don't know what to think. I am planning on making an appointment with a gyno just to get checked out and make sure it's nothing serious. However, I would like to have something to tell the doctor. So, I'm trying to figure out as much as I can on my own.
Some background: There is a very small possibility that I'm pregnant. My test said no but my period is overdue by almost a week. The last time I had sex was the day my period ended in May. We used the pull out method because I'm allergic to most other forms of BC. I've never gotten pregnant this way and only think it's a possibility because my period is late. Also, I don't know if this would affect anything, I use a menstrual cup. My cervix usually rides a bit low and a few times the cup has opened on the side of my uterus (OUCH) but I just adjusted it till it was below it again and it was fine. I've had two pregnancies, one delivered vaginally the other c-section. I used to get ovarian cysts (bad ones) and have had PID (doctors never treated it right so it kept on comming back until I got a doctor who knew how to treat it...he said there may be some scarring).
Um...I can't think of anything else. I know you guys can't diagnose anything. I just want some ideas of what to tell my doctor when I go see her. Thanks!

Irregular light periods, clots
Jul. 1st, 2008 08:28 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
It's been about three months since I've had a full blown typical period. In the meantime, every three weeks or so I get a "period" that lasts about 10 days or so (much longer than usual). This period consists of nothing but old blood: totally brown. I haven't seen red in months.
I've also been clotting more than usual; the biggest one came this morning, maybe the size of a pen cap? I read up and saw that this is normal but I feel like in combination with the above, it's not. This morning I am also having lousy cramps and I typically don't cramp much when I get my period. (If it's relevant, my feces has been all screwed up too, clumpy white and orange bits on it?)
I am monogamous, sti-free, sexually active and not on birth control pills. And as of two weeks ago, I am not pregnant. I have seen a nurse and she said if it continued to check up again. I'm going to, but I thought I'd check up here too.

genital warts / significant others
Jul. 1st, 2008 12:22 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I just found out I might possibly have HPV - the kind with genital warts. I'm just wondering how people here diagnosed with such told their significant others?? Thanks!

For years now, my periods have been completely regular. I knew exactly what day it would start and when it would end. It would always last four days with a very light flow and none of the general PMS symptoms, including cramps. I started taking birth control and it messed all of that up. I went through several different kinds before giving up entirely. Things are finally starting to get back to normal, except...
I have the worst cramps, ever. Like, doubled over in a fetal position crying and simultaneously trying not to throw up from the pain kind of cramps. It's like someone is kicking me in the uterus repeatedly, and it's extraordinarily unpleasant. I've taken Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Midol... I've spent time under a heating pad. I've eaten bananas. I've even tried to get up and be a bit active. Nothing is working, though, and it sucks.
What can I do to at least ease this? It sucks. So bad...

Questions about bone density and the shot.
Jul. 1st, 2008 02:23 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
My patch is annoying me so much! It fell off today when I was stupid and tried to move it. I want to try a new method, I'm trying the shot. I'm a little scared though because it decreases bone density, which isn't easy to ignore when you're a vegan coming from a fam in which oseteoporosis (sp?) has occured in every female over 50. I don't want the pill because I know that I'll never remember to take it and I would like something with hormones in it for my skin, period, and PMDD. I figure that it's best to figure out what works best before I'm deflowered .
Anyway, what I wanted to ask is what to expect with the shot? Websites haven't been too helpful. Has it been beneficial to your skin or made you sick? And are there any precautions (besides eating a good diet and blah blah blah) that I can take to avoid excessive calcium loss? I don't plan on being on it forever, I'll switch to an IUD or something when I'm older.
Also, I know that I'm likely to retain water, but I won't gain actual weight, will I?
Sorry for my ignorance! I accpreciate all of the help. Thank you!

Tubal question.
Jul. 1st, 2008 02:50 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I had my tubes tied 3 months ago when I had my daughter. I have had 2 periods since then and the cramps have been bad and I bleed very HEAVY. Has anyone else had this issues after a tubal?
antibiotic side-effects
Jul. 1st, 2008 04:38 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I just started (like I JUST started today) using 1% clindamycin gel once a day on my face for acne, and I was wondering if topical antibiotics like this one affect the female body the same way that say, oral antibiotics do? Like do I need to be worried about yeast infections and/or it interacting with my birth control? My pharmacist didn't say anything about the BC and they seem very on top of things, but I'm still curious. :)
Call back over pap smear?
Jul. 1st, 2008 04:47 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Last month, I had my first appointment with the OBGYN for a pap smear and routine check up, and to be prescribed birth control pills for the first time. I've only had two sexual partners. The first, we were each other's first and only partners all through our relationship, and always used protection. The second (and current), has only had two past partners, and has been in a monogamous relationship with me for months...
Well, today, at work, I noticed I had a voicemail on my cell phone from a number I didn't recognize. I went to the bathroom to listen to the voicemail, and it is from the OBGYN's office, telling me to call back and ask for the triage nurse to speak with regards to my pap smear. Of course, I'm in tears. My mom's first health issue, leading to her passing away from numerous cancers this past October, was cervical cancer.
So, I tried to call them, and was told the triage nurse was busy, and left my number. When I clocked out hours later from work, I still had no voicemail from the triage nurse calling back... so I called again, just to be on hold for 15 minutes, and then told again that the triage nurse was busy and would call me back.
I've been choking back tears all day, and the OBGYN's office closes for the day in fifteen minutes. I'm just... I'm so scared I don't even know what to do.
They checked me for STIs, but I'm assuming I'm low risk considering my sexual history, and the fact that nothing has seemed unusual down there. So... should I be preparing myself for something worse?

Pulling Out
Jul. 1st, 2008 06:59 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
So my friend thinks she's pregnant. My vote was pregnancy test then panic, but she asked a question I couldn't answer and seemed pretty relevant to this community. So here it is in all it's copy and pasted glory.
I am basically in full panic mode right now.
I'm 22, just graduated college, and I'm starting to wonder if I'm pregnant.
Backstory: I haven't been in a honest-to-god relationship in over a year BUT for that year I have slept with my good friend several times. Never with a condom, he pulls out. He has never cum in me but I know there's a chance with pre-cum.
My last period was before I left town on the 13th (I can't remember exactly what day though) so I should be getting close to due.
What has happened that's put me here:
My breasts are sore, not excruciating though.
I've been unbelievably exhausted lately, but I also have not be eating well what so ever. We're talking rice for lunch and dinner for a few days straight.
I had severe acid reflux a few weeks ago, but that occurred around the same time I was popping IB profin like it was my job.
A bit of lower back pain.
A few days ago I went from feeling completely miserable to literally the next day feeling fine.
OK so all of this can be attributed to something else like the appearance of my period in a week, my bad diet, stress of graduating without a fucking job, so my question isn't "Hey people who don't know me, am I pregnant?"
My question is, does anyone know how safe a method "pulling out" is (not in reference to STD's we've both been tested, just pregnancy)? I know I'm not the only person he's forgone condoms with (his last two long-term relationships he pulled out) and he's never knocked somebody up... but there's always a chance right?

HPV positive
Jul. 1st, 2008 07:26 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
So in follow up to my last post... the nurse called me back (after office hours), and told me that I had an abnormal pap, and when it was run against HPV testing, I came back positive.
I spoke to my grandmother about it, who is very close to me on matters like this because of my mom's health history, and she really upset me. She acted like I was dirty, and said I needed to be "more discerning in my sexual partners." I was under the impression that contraction of HPV is pretty common, and happens to most people without much regard to amount of sexual partners and whatnot, but she went on quite a lecturing soapbox as if it was the contrary.
So that's my stressed out rant, and here's my question... I'm on birth control, and my partner and I are monogamous and long-term. Am I putting him at risk, because of HPV, by having sex without a condom, just using hormonal birth control as protection?
I don't understand a whole lot about this HPV thing... All I know is that I now have another appointment for a papsmear and coloposcy and I'm really really scared.

can i trust this HPT?
Jul. 1st, 2008 07:37 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Relevant background info:
-- stopped taking Yaz approx. three months ago. In the last two months, my periods have been pretty much on time (one day delay max).
--use condoms for protection now, no accidents that I know of.
--I traveled via airplane last week (on the day my period was due) and I am also supposed to take another airplane trip on Thursday.
My period was due last Friday. It is still not here, and I took a test (First Response) yesterday evening. It came up negative. Today, still no period. Do I feel like I am premenstrual? Kind of, I feel a bit fatigued and headache-y, but have felt that way since Friday (at least) and the symptoms for my periods have always seemed eerily like the symptoms for pregnancy, according to my google knowledge.
So, can I trust the home pregnancy test I took?
Could my period possibly be delayed due to travel or getting off of HBC three months ago, even though my period has been fairly regular since?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Advice please: badly fitting bra
Jul. 1st, 2008 07:43 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Ok, last month I needed a new bra, I'd put on weight and my bras were getting rather worn and rather snug round the back so you have the nasty "this bra is too tight round the back" thing you can see. I got fitted in Debenhams and it was an awful experience. The ladies were nice enough, but I'm a big lady and was embarrassed. Even more so when the only bras they could find to fit me were old lady bras :( I got really sweaty and uncomfortable and freaked out and ended up not being able to do up the back of the bras they tried me in cos I was so nervous and upset (I'm recovering from depression and situations like that really really freak me out), which meant I ended up with a pretty big back - 44 - which I possibly needed anyway, so I guess I'm ok with that.
The problem is (I think) the cup size. Or maybe the back size. I have no idea to be honest which is why I'm posting here. Basically my bust isn't seperated in the middle - the middle part is at the same level as the cups, rather than coming in towards my breastbone, so I think my clevage now looks like a big lump of fat, which is nasty. There's no definition and when I bend over the bra feels like it's not supporting me at all - the wire basically flips down. I hope this description is making some sense. The ladies gave me an F cup (so this bra is a 44F). Below is a picture, which hopefully illustrates the problem better than my clumsy words are. I have one other bra, a 40E which is stretched tight at the back and the elastic is shot to bits. But it fits my boobs comfortably with the middle part coming in to my breastbone.
( here be boobs in a bra - warning, big image. )
I'm really confused. Please help. Is the answer to drop a cup size (to an E?) or raise a cup size (to a G?) or changing the back size? I feel awful in this bra, but after my last experience I do not want to go back to any shop and get "fitted" again. Also, if possible, try to avoid asking me to measure. I feel awful about myself as it is :(

I always experienced middleschmertz when I had my period before I was on HBC. For the last few months, I've experienced that same feeling about a week after my period ends. (In addition to my forehead breaking out the few days before, and spotting) I'm certain it's the same feeling. Am I really ovulating? Does that indicate that my HBC isn't preventing pregnancy? I haven't been sexually active in such a long time, but I might be in the very near future, so I'm a little worried.
Whenever I experience this, it's always on the right side of my pelvis. When I went to the hospital for "appendicitis," they found that I'd had a cyst burst on my right ovary, and had three other cysts from, as they called it, "failed ovulation." But nothing on my left. So is it possible that I only ovulate from the right ovary? Is that a potential problem in the future?

Period Tracker and Weird Pregnancy Hair
Jul. 1st, 2008 11:13 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Two part question (I can split it up it that is easier for the forum)
1. Does anyone know a good online period tracker? The I've found two (MyMonthly and mon.thly.info) and neither take into account a pregnancy. I had a miscarriage recently, therefore a few months of no date for a period. This messes up the average length of my cycle on the websites. I keep track of my periods using the Chart Your Cycle zine but I do like getting a heads up email in case I forget my period is due and find out I'm preggo.
2. When I was pregnant I started growing these really weird hairs on my head. They are curly, super thick and dark. My hair is fine, straight and fair. It is like alien hair on my head. Is that normal?
