on the 30th of may, i celebrated my seven month anniversary with my boyfriend.. there was a lot of foreplay. mostly, i was on top of him; shallow "penetration" without a condom (i now learned it is just a myth that sperm dies when it meets air and can live a few hours outside the vagina, but can it make its way up?). i teased him quite a bit. we had protected sex after that.

i typically get my period around the 5th of every month. i mark it on my calendar.

starting around the 28th of may until this past wednesday i had been stressing out a lot about a final exam i had in my english class (i had to do a presentation that i found to be very intense). for that whole week, especially toward the end of that week, i was really stressed. i kept thinking about my presentation and playing it in my mind and i'd break a sweat just practicing it by myself. before it was my turn to talk to my class, my heart nearly dropped out of my ass and when i was up there i almost had a heart attack and was shaking a lot after; my hands and my legs. so clearly i felt a lot of anxiety and stress.. but an hour past and i am pretty sure i was back to normal. but i did have a much smaller amount of stress as i was registering for community college, especially because of my mom (she easily gets on my nerves.. really easily).

i was anticipating my period on thursday, the 5th. but around 2:30 in the morning, i woke up to PAINFUL cramps. like, i-thought-i-was-going-to-die cramps. i got up, sat on the toilet, and i had diarrhea. i got back in bed and just laid there. i had painful cramps again, so painful i was groaning loudly by myself. i got back up, used the bathroom again and took midol. i laid down and felt better. but i just googled and found out that cramps can be a very early (6-12 day) sign of pregnancy..

Expandi might be looking too far into it but.. )
i know it's best to wait but i'm eighteen years old. my prom is today and i have graduation on the 13th.. any simple opinions would be appreciated..

i'm thinking if nothing shows up in about a week or so i'll get a test..

thank you thank you thank you. anyone. :)

So I bought birth control (Femcon FE) at the beginning of the quarter since I had student loan money and thought I'd buy a bunch when I had the cash and save myself the trips and such. Then the doc put me on an IUD.

Now I have 5 paid for (out of pocket) packs and the pharmacy won't reimburse me.

Any ideas of what to do to recoup my money? The packs were approx. $50 each, so losing this money's a pretty big deal.

Thanks!

Hello,

I've been on Nuvaring for over two years, and I like it just fine. About one month ago, I got put on Clonazepam for my panic attacks. The doctor never asked which form of birth control I was on at the time.

Today, while surfing the web, I come to find that Nuvaring interacts badly with "some" anticonvulsants. Though I take Clonazepam for panic, it is also used as an anticonvulsant.

Neither my doctor nor my gyno are around on the weekend and I was wondering if anyone out there has read anything about the interactions of Clonazepam and Nuvaring. Or even which anticonvulsants do react with Nuvaring.

I wont be having sex without backup till hearing from my doctors. But I'm rather nervous as for the past month I -have- been having sex using only Nuvaring and also because Clonazepam is really bad for a fetus. I plan on taking a pregnancy test tomorrow just in case, but the nerves are really getting to me.

Also, is there any way to contact Nuvaring directly to ask them? I've asked pharmacists before about possible interactions with Nuvarings and antibiotics, among other things, and none have thus far seem very knowledgeable about interactions of any kind.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ladies,

I'm on Alesse, told by my doctor to do 6 weeks of active pills, followed by 1 week off.

Last month, during my 4th week, i started spotting, and i didn't think much of it, but then it turned into full blown period (while still on the actives) and so i stopped taking them and just let my withdraw week happen then.

This time, I'm on pill number 19 and it's starting to spot again.

The whole point of my being on the pill is to reduce the number of my periods to avoid the crippling side effects that go along with it.

I heard somewhere that if you can take 2 pills in one day, it'll stop the spotting dead. Should i do this to avoid an extra full blown period this month?

Thanks ladies

-a

Also, i know that st. Johns Wort makes the pill not work as well as a birth control, but would it make my cycle wonky too? i started taking it on a daily basis about a week ago...

EC plus YI

I took EC for the first time on Tuesday and now I think I have developed a YI. I have only gotten a YI once in my life so I'm thinking that the EC caused the YI. Is this even possible? Do the chemicals in EC cause yeast infections in some women?

#1: Skip Period
#2: Induce Period

I am going on vacation at the end of June & my period is due right about then. I've tried skipping a period before (I'm on Lutera--generic version of Lutera, I believe) but I did have break-through bleeding after a few days. I don't know if the few days of putting it off will last the whole vacation before I get breakthrough bleeding...IF I do...but I'm just going by what happened the first time.

So, therefore:
Would it work to skip my third week of active pills and induce my period so that it comes a week early? Would that work? I know that it will mess with the effectiveness of the pill when it comes to pregnancy but it doesn't have to be a concern--I'd use a condom, if anything. It comes down to comfort & relaxation for a vacation too--no one wants to be bloated & bleeding! If inducing it does work, will it stop on its own and not continue once I start the new pack?

I took my first pill of the new pack today, btw. So, what do you think? Thanks!

p.s. Any suggestions wih taking more than one pill a day or something too? I'd basically just like to hear any success stories with skipping/inducing a period so I can figure out how to avoid it during this particular week.

I had my annual check-up 2 days ago and told the doctor that I have been having yellowish vinigar smelling discharge for a while now, with no other symptoms. I was treated a month ago for a horrific yeast infection.
Anyway he said that I have a bit of BV and some leftover yeasties and gave me Flagystatin to take by mouth twice a day for 7 days. I do however still have some leftover from a month ago, this is the cream kind that you insert into your vagina.
I will most likely be having sex tomorrow night, 99% sure, and it isn't something that I can really postpone, because I rarely get to see my guy. However I am afraid the pills will bug my stomach because it is very sensitive.
So I am wondering if I should take a pill tonight and then tomorrow morning and then have sex, or if I should use the cream tonight, and then somehow wipe the excess out of me. I am just worried that I will either get sick from the pills or I'll still be oozing cream.
I also didn't really want to wait until after sex because it could possibly irritate everything and make the symptoms appear.

The only symptoms I have now are the slight yellowish discharge and a vinegary smell. The doctor said it is a very very mild infection at the moment, but could get worse so I might as well treat it now, or I could leave it if I wanted to, and see if my period would take care of it.

So what do you guys think?

My boyfriend and I started recently having sex, and it still hurts everytime.
It's not a huge pain, and we've been using lube.
It's gotten a little better, but Is this normal and does it get better?

Hellohello, lovely vagpag-ers!

Last night I had sex with a guy for the first time. I've only slept with women previously, and so pregnancy definitely hasn't been a concern for me until now. This is just a paranoid question to ease some fears that've been floating around in my head.

For the last 6 years, I've been on the pill solid without any breaks longer than a month. This month I've been off it due to my doctor being on vacation and failure on my part to renew my prescription. My cycle has never been regular off the pill, so I'm not expecting my period to come around for another month or so based on previous experience.

Last night we used a condom, but as he pulled out I felt it slip a little. It stayed on him, but I've always had an irrational fear (borderline phobia, I'd say) of pregnancy.

Is there any substantial risk for pregnancy in my situation? Thank you!

Anybody on IUD and experiences period-like cramping without the actual period? I got my IUD in August (07), only got a period right after the IUD was inserted then after that I never got any periods again. Although, I do experience cramping every month. Is that normal?

When I'm PMSing (as in right now, which is why I finally remembered to post this) I get very sore breasts. It hurts to lie on my stomach when I'm trying to sleep sometimes and going down stairs is hell (even with a bra on). It's not negatively affecting my life really, but it is something I would care to do without.

Is there anything I could do for this? I know painkillers might help, but I don't really want to rely on them if there's a possibility of something else that might help.

any help is much appreciated! Thank you very much in advance!

I want to run my situation by some other brains and make sure I’m thinking this through correctly.

I just started the pill last week. I haven’t been on birth control in about six months, and before that I was on the Nuvaring for a few years. Currently, I haven’t had my period for four months or so. I went to the gyno, and she said nothing seemed wrong and that I could start the pill to regulate my cycle. She prescribed me Loestrin 24, because it’s one of the lowest doses of hormones. (She’s worried about my family history of high blood pressure, cancer, etc.)

The doctor warned me that since the dosage was so low, I had to be extra careful about taking it on time or I would start spotting. Well, I started the pill last Sunday, and Wednesday I was late taking it by about 3 hours. Sure enough, I started a kind of half period. It’s way less than my regular flow, but more than what I would call spotting. At this point, it’s showing no signs of slowing down or stopping.

What I’m thinking of doing is take a week off from the pills starting this week. I wouldn’t take them starting tomorrow, and just let myself have a period, instead of spotting for who knows how long. Then I could start on the second week of the pills next Sunday. I’m not sexually active right now, so protection isn’t an issue.

Does this sound like a fairly logical plan? Or do you think it would throw my body off even more? Like I said, I haven’t been on the pill in a really long time, so I don’t want to be completely missing some fact that would make this a Bad Idea.

Is it normal for the "after sex pee" to burn a little bit? After particularly "vigorous" sex that is...
