I know it's normal to have spotting after you period for a couple days, but my last period i had it for almost a FULL WEEK after.

is this anything to worry about?

also, the length between my periods has gotten shorter, about 3 weeks. i don't know if that has anything to do with...

any help would be great!

I posted a couple months ago about missed periods after discontinuing hormonal bc. My post was actually deleted because I had neglected to read the FAQs.

(Just for a little background info, I started Depo when I was 18 and then switched to the patch when I was 21. So 3 years Depo and one year of the patch prior to stopping HBC.)

Well, I found out that it was normal to miss periods after discontinuing hormonal bc. The issue for me was that I am trying to get an IUD and my doctor refuses to insert it unless I'm on my period.

After three missed periods, I called her and told her that I still wanted the IUD but had just not gotten my period. She had me come in and sounded my uterus to see if everything looked ok and I took a pregnancy test, which was negative. She then prescribed 20mg of dydrogesterone once a day for ten days. She said that two days after I stopped the pills I should get my period.

Well, 2 days came and went and I'm now on day 10. I did some research online and found that the 'normal' window for progestins to bring on a period is 2-7 days after finishing them, but that it can take up to 14 days.
Has anyone had any experiences like this? Did I find correct information and should I wait til day 14 to call her back or should I call her now?
I'm getting a little nervous that something might be wrong with me reproductively speaking.
And annoyed since I go home in two weeks to visit my boyfriend for the first time in four months and have no birth control lined up.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

greetings;

i am not sure whether any of you ladies has this before but i am worried for my ownself and the fact that it's not literally normal at all.
i am 22years old. never had abortion before in my whole entirely life but it seems that since 2 -3 years ago. my menses pattern is a weird
one. my menses will only last for 4-5days. and the blood is brownish and at times fresh blood. it's a tiny dosage of blood on the pad. it's like
as if i am not losing any blood at all.
is it because i am pressurized with work/school/family? i had my first menarche when i was 10years old. am i showing sign of premature
menopause?

I have multiple questions. They're mostly dumb, imo:

1. Do I just have an extraordinarily high asscrack, or do I wear my clothes too low? Even my regular underwear doesn't like to cover me up completely, and I really don't want to give up wearing hip-high pants -- i have a pretty present stomach, so it's pretty uncomfortable to wear stuff above my stomach line.

2. I heard somewhere that it's really bad to wear really tight underwear all the time. Why is that?

3. Is anybody using that LJ Talk thing? There are so many things I'd rather not post in a public community; even the previous two questions make me uncomfortable.

I am going to the doctor this week to talk to her about getting tested for PCOS. I never knew it existed until my cousin and I were talking about how we suddenly got acne at ages 19 and 21 after a lifetime of perfect skin. She has it, and says it's fairly common.

I have Googled PCOS and found symptoms and treatments and et cetera, but I'd really like to hear from anyone who has it. For me, posting questions and getting answers from real people is a lot more helpful than reading clinical excerpts from medical texts on some website.

Questions: What were your symptoms, and how did you discover you had PCOS? What was your treatment, and did it get rid of all of your symptoms? Did it have any side effects?

My symptoms started 2 1/2 years ago when I suddenly started getting acne. My hair texture also changed...I have straight hair but random hairs started to (and still do) curl up into Shirley Temple ringlets. Very recently, I have noticed fine downy hair on my cheeks, like a "beard" but only visible up close in bright light. the hair above my upper lip seemed to be darker, too. I also turned into a complete bitch, to put it bluntly. I was constantly angry and combatitive and frustrated. That part has vastly improved, thank God! I had/have been taking birth control pills (the low-dose kind) since I was 13, so my hormone levels should have been stable (i.e., symptoms not caused by the pill.)

Thanks so much!

I'm beginning to feel like a total guy. (Insert sarcasm here.)  Why, you ask? Because my boyfriend doesn't put out. We've been seeing each other since February. It took until April to get to the first kiss. Mind you, we're both 32, so this is pretty odd to me. When the first kiss came, it was because I couldn't take the anticipation anymore. It was another month before we actually went to bed together, and I'm always the one to do the initiating. I've made it clear to him, damn clear, that I don't always like to be the one making the first move. We've talked about it on a number of occasions, and nothing has changed.

We actually broke up for a month and have recently gotten back together. Right now, it has been 13 weeks since we've gone to bed together, and I'm crawling the walls. We both agreed to monogamy, but damn... This is getting out of control. Something always gets in the way of me getting what I want, and I'm starting to get frustrated. To make things worse, the week after thanksgiving he got slapped with a paternity suit out of the blue. Didn't even know the girl was pregnant, and the baby is now 4 months old. DNA test came back on Thursday, and it is indeed his. Just great. Another obstacle.

I've taken care of myself, so to speak, but that isn't doing the trick. This is finals week for school, and I can't even think straight my panties are in such a twist.

In my frustration, I sent him a text message: I think 3 months of celibacy is making me brain dead.
His reply: Sorry. You can have a gas filled Duncan (his dog) to motivate you.
My reply: Not quite what I had in mind.
His reply: I'm really in the mood for cheesecake factory.
My retort: You put out and you can have all the cheese cake you want.
His reply 5m later: I hate being sick because I am tired of being home, but don't feel like going anywhere.

Did he think I'd get distracted in 5m? Argh!

I don't want to go throwing around ultimatums because that never results in anything good, but my patience is spent. Does monogamy really count when a guy just never puts out?!

Rephrasing:  Just wanted to clarify a little...  Throughout the course of the time we've been seeing each other, I have really put myself out there for him.  When he's had a bad day at work, I listen to him vent.  When he's feeling down, I try to make things better.  Even when he told me about the paternity suit, I told him that I'd stand by him no matter the outcome.  I think it is pretty clear that I am in this for more than just the sex.  If that were the case, I'd have been outta there before we even got to the first kiss.

My issue is, really, that it isn't an equal give and take.  When we broke up, it is because he got stressed out and outright ignored me for 3 weeks.  I got fed up and told him that if I wasn't worth his effort, I couldn't stay in the relationship.  We had finally agreed to talk, and instead of discussing our relationship, he only wanted to talk about work.  I was... perplexed to say the least.  I finally asked him where we stood.  He said he didn't know.  I asked where he would like things to be, to which he indicated that he'd like them to be back where they were before things hit the fan.  I confessed that I had missed spending time with him...  His reply floored me.  He said he missed himself, too.  Guess that says a lot, doesn't it?  Yeah.  It does.

Maybe the real answer is that I can't make this work on my own.  I can honestly say that I've tried repeatedly to talk to him.  Things weren't a picnic even before this paternity suit.  But, now I've given my word to stand by him, and I won't go back on my word.

As the posts here cover quite a wide spectrum I was wondering what member's experiences have been like in regards to foreign objects used on them (by boyfriends or girlfriends). Good, bad or extremely embarrassing..?

I am asking as me and my SO were messing about and somehow a DS Stylus got involved. I then remember later that a friend had once told me about using a Frij Milkshake bottle with her boyfriend once and advised her to start doing her kegel exercises.

heyyy ladies.

i've been getting cramps lately. not enough for me to really even pay attention to them.. and they might be stomach cramps [like, the bowel kind ?] but i don't even know. i haven't been 'regular' in that sense, so i started eating activia recently.

i hope that helps if that's the problem.

anyway,

weird thing happened to me over break.

i went in for my yearly pap thing,
and my doctor actually accidentally made me bleed,
he didn't tell me, i just noticed it after he was finished,
but he did ask me if i had problems with bleeding during sex,
which i don't.

anyway, i had been cramping before,
and i told him
and they weren't even going to check my urine for anything,
but i asked them to
and she told me i had a bad UTI, that it showed up immediately
and he put me in anti-biotics.
well, i'm bad at taking pills that need to be taken with food,
because i go to school and i eat at different times / places all the time..
so i took all but ONE of the pills..
hah.. eventually.. [ i may have skipped a day or a pill or so here and there ]
anyway, all but one are gone..
and i can't tell if it's gone.
i just started Yaz or whatever [it's some birth control pill]
and i'm sure it's not symptoms from that [would that be a symptom ?]
so.

i guess.
i don't know.

what do you think ?

do you think the little cramps i have are a UTI that refused to go away
or.. what ?

i need to go into the doctor in about a week to get my level of potassium tested
[ i guess yaz can increase that quite a bit ? my mom told me i needed to be tested]
so i guess i can ask him questions if i need to.

sorry for the lengthy post..

but it's finals week here and i do NOT want any added stress..
and i'm kind of a hypochondriac
and i keep thinking 'omfg it's a cyst and i'm dying'
and things like that.

edit: ok ? thanks for helping ?
