heyyy ladies.
i've been getting cramps lately. not enough for me to really even pay attention to them.. and they might be stomach cramps [like, the bowel kind ?] but i don't even know. i haven't been 'regular' in that sense, so i started eating activia recently.
i hope that helps if that's the problem.
anyway,
weird thing happened to me over break.
i went in for my yearly pap thing,
and my doctor actually accidentally made me bleed,
he didn't tell me, i just noticed it after he was finished,
but he did ask me if i had problems with bleeding during sex,
which i don't.
anyway, i had been cramping before,
and i told him
and they weren't even going to check my urine for anything,
but i asked them to
and she told me i had a bad UTI, that it showed up immediately
and he put me in anti-biotics.
well, i'm bad at taking pills that need to be taken with food,
because i go to school and i eat at different times / places all the time..
so i took all but ONE of the pills..
hah.. eventually.. [ i may have skipped a day or a pill or so here and there ]
anyway, all but one are gone..
and i can't tell if it's gone.
i just started Yaz or whatever [it's some birth control pill]
and i'm sure it's not symptoms from that [would that be a symptom ?]
so.
i guess.
i don't know.
what do you think ?
do you think the little cramps i have are a UTI that refused to go away
or.. what ?
i need to go into the doctor in about a week to get my level of potassium tested
[ i guess yaz can increase that quite a bit ? my mom told me i needed to be tested]
so i guess i can ask him questions if i need to.
sorry for the lengthy post..
but it's finals week here and i do NOT want any added stress..
and i'm kind of a hypochondriac
and i keep thinking 'omfg it's a cyst and i'm dying'
and things like that.
edit: ok ? thanks for helping ?

Date: 2006-12-12 02:24 am (UTC)Having said that, you should have taken all the antibiotics as directed. I've never heard of Yaz increasing potassium that dramatically. Call your doctor to verify that. Also, explain what happend with the antibiotics. Be prepared for a lecture. Antibiotics should always be taken as directed, because if not, your body can build up an immunity, rendering them useless in the future.

Date: 2006-12-12 05:34 am (UTC)And yeah, I know you should follow the directed instructions for meds, but it all depends on how much the doctor prescribes. Some doctors prescibe more pills just to make sure that it IS fully gone, others just prescribe to what is common. I think you may be fine.
I would, when you go to the doctors, tell them that you want to make sure that your UTI is fully gone and have another sample taken. Because if you dont, I would assume you would still want to make them do Something to find out why you are cramping, right?
haha, sorry this is all over the place. hope SOMETHING helps. lol

Date: 2006-12-12 11:58 am (UTC)i didn't know if UTIs caused cramping or not. that was my big thing =)
my gyno said everything was just great when i went in, and even after i told him about the cramping, but i'll go back in and make sure my UTIs gone in a few days [ugh. i hate having to wait, but finals week makes me put my life on hold]
i appreciate it !
