EDIT: I have learned the name of the method! It is called Centchroman.

Centchroman has been available in India since around 1990, and is marketed there under the brand names Centron® and Saheli®. Most women I know have never heard of it. As far as I know, it works by causing ovulation to occur asynchronously with the development of the uterine lining, thus impeding implantation.

If you have information about Centchroman, know of related resources, or have tried Centchroman yourself, I would really appreciate hearing from you. My body does not tolerate hormonal birth control, so I want to explore other methods. Thank you!

crazy period

so, i'm having some period issueus that are worrying me.

i've been taking HBC (ortho cyclen) for about 7 months now with absolutely no problems. I always start my period about 3 days after I finish a pack of pills (by pack I mean all the ones that are active) and I've never had any irregular periods. A few days ago.. about 3/4 of the way through my pill pack... I forgot a pill. I remembered it the next day (yesterday) and took a pill yesterday. But today, I started my period.

I just started pharmacy school (yesterday, actually) and I've been really nervous and stressed about that, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Has anyone had any similar issues/can anyone help me figure out what's going on? I don't need anything else to worry about. Haha.

I'm really conscious about the taste down there - and am not really confident to expose myself to my SO...

And basically, I just want to ask, are there any specific things that would help me get over this? I heard there are some foods that apparently make you taste better... I just need help concerning this. It's really makes me nervous!

Acidophilus and Hormonal Birth Control

I'm currently taking Seasonique for HBC, and I'm also taking acidophilus as a daily supplement to try and alleviate some digestion issues/lactose intolerance.

Will taking acidophilus everyday affect the efficacy or how my HBC is metabolised? (Don't combo pills have some kind of dairy by-product?)
