I have fairly regular periods. I am not on birth control. The last time I had my period was on March 4th, and the next one is expected on April 1st.

I had sex for, not kidding, TWO MINUTES on March 15th/late March 16th. He was wearing a condom, and he did not ejaculate while he was in me. I think he came once or twice that night, but I can't remember the sequence. He fingered me for a bit as well.

I had spotting today/late yesterday (March 24/25th). It was just one pinkish-orangish blob. I went to look it up online, and came across blurbs of information like this one:

Seeing Spots?
Around the time when implantation occurs (the moment when the embryo attaches to the lining of the uterine wall), it's not uncommon to notice a bit of spotting. You would look for this sign at around eight to ten days after you last ovulated. (You can use the ovulation calculator located on our home page to calculate your ovulation date.) Spotting as a result of implantation usually looks a bit different than your regular period; it tends to be light in volume and pinkish in color, as opposed to the deep red color associated with regular menstrual bleeding.

I AM TERRIFIED THAT I AM PREGNANT. That paragraph suits me very well. According to my cyclespage.com calendar, I was starting ovulation on the 15th. What I don't understand is how he did not ejaculate in me, and there's a small chance the condom would have even had the chance to break with such little friction anyway. The only thing I can think of is that maybe his fingers had some semen on them while he fingered me, but he didn't finger me for that long, either.

I would appreciate any insight. From what I've read, it's a bit too early to take a reliable at home pregnancy test, and I will be going to the clinic at my school first thing on Monday. I have been quite anxious during the past two weeks, if that has anything to do with it. I dunno. Please let me know your thoughts/experiences. I also posted this in [livejournal.com profile] am_i_pregnant.

Thank you.

Hey guys, I have a pretty quick and probably really simple question.

I've been on Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo since December, and out of these four months, at least two of them have caused me to start my period wayyy earlier (For instance, this month I started maybe ten to twelve pills into a new pack, the other times it was a little bit later but not too much). The bleeding doesn't really stop until I get through the placebos - but up until I reach the placebos, the bleeding is very dark, darker than normal. Almost like old blood? I'm very good at taking the pill every day at the exact same time, so it's not like I'm missing pills and my body's freaking out because of it... I don't know.

Is this normal? Should I look into switching pills, or since I haven't been on it for very long, will this go away? Because, to be honest, it's hard to have it be a contraceptive when sex is kind of put off because of it.

Thanks for any help, I appreciate it!! :)

Hey, kids! Have never been on hormonal bc before. Start date of last period was March 11; put in the NuvaRing yesterday, the twenty-fourth. (What can I say? I'm impatient.)

A couple of questions:

1. Can I expect bleeding both when I should have naturally had my period without the intervention of these glorious hormones and during the week off NuvaRing?
2. I normally use OB tampons and Insteads and am thinking about investing in a DivaCup. Presumably at least some of you fine folks have had some bleeding with the NuvaRing in...any adverse experiences or things to watch out for while using internal menstrual protection and the NuvaRing at the same time?

Thanks a million!

I found this really old video today... I'm assuming it was once used in health class, to teach girls about menstruation.

I have a question. My sister is 21, about to be 22 in September. She is sexually active, whenever her fiancee is in town from military leave. I have tried to talk to her, but she gets edgy so I don't like to push. She has never had a pap-smear. I know you're supposed to have one at 18, and/or once you become sexually active, but she is too afraid to go. I really think there could be something wrong, here's why: When we were still in high school I went on depo, and my periods stopped and I gained some weight. Well when my periods stopped so did my sister's. It's been about 3 years now, and she still hasn't had a period and is sexually active. She has gained almost 90 lbs in the past 3 years as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what family and myself can do to persuade her to go? I've even offered to make the appointment and go with her if she wanted me too, and she keeps jumping the subject. Any advice would be great. Thanks

A while back, I posted asking if the abortion protester mutilated baby pictures were of actual abortions and got a resounding 'NO' ;) now I'm curious again, are there any pictures around of a REAL, first trimester abortion?

The closest thing I could find is: http://eileen.250x.com/Main/FET_DEV.PIC/12weeks.htm which...isn't really helpful.

I'm currently freaking out because i feel trapped with hormonal birth control and yet trapped without it.
I started taking ortho-evra tricyclen LO about two months ago but then, at the month and a half mark, started getting cystic acne (never had that before) all over my face and went off it. Surprise, surprise, the acne started to disappear the day i quit taking the pill. A heavy period ensued, but i'm fairly sure i'm back to normal.
I visited the doctor the other day to explore other birth control options. She didn't listen to me, cut me off a couple of times, and seemed far to busy to really care. She prescribed (or, shall i say, threw at me) Estrostep, which i'm supposed to start tommorrow, but i am, frankly, terrified of it.
I looked into alternate methods like Lea's Shield and spermicide and am seriously considering trying both. I'm going to the planned parenthood clinic on Tuesday to get a Lea's Shield.
The only problem with THAT is that my boyfriend is big. 9 inches. I don't know if the lea's shield will interfere with intercourse or vice versa, if you catch my drift.
Caught in a tizzy. Don't know what to do.
Any suggestions? Similar experiences?

due to some complications with my combined pill pack(levlen 28), my doctor prescribed me progestin only minipills(ortho micronor 28's). my combined pack has two more active days and then the seven inactive days. my doctor told me to start the POP's after the seven inactive days in the pack i have, but the leaflet inside the POP's says that if you are switching from combined pills to POP's to skip the seven inactive pills and go straight to the minipills.

so basically i don't know what to do - finish the combined pill pack or skip the inactive pills and go straight to the POP's. any help would be appreciated tons.

thanks! :)

I might be having sex for my first time tonight and I was wondering what it feels like when the hymen breaks.

Does it break upon penetration (if it does break at all that is)? And if it does do you feel it right away? Or does it take a bit to realize anything has happened?

Every once in a while, I'll have a dream in which I'm pregnant. When I wake up in the morning, I am 100% convinced that I am pregnant for a good 20 minutes at least.

Now, considering that I'm a virgin AND on depo-provera, I know, logically, that the chances of me being pregnant border the negatives. It's probably just morning lack-of-logic going on.

It's kind of creepy, because I'll get convinced for at least ten minutes that I need to get EC or that it's too late for that and I have to just go through with it and have a baby and OMG my life is over. I tend to be worried for the better part of the day that maybe I should get tested just in case.

It happens to me maybe once every other month or so, so not that often, but sometimes will happen two or three nights in a row. It's been happening since I was about 15 (I started my period at 12).

My question about this is... does this happen to anyone else? If so, how often? How do you deal with it?

Dear Uterus,

So, as I'm sitting here with our IUD hanging half (I'm bad with fractions) out of our close friend Cervix, it has become clear that we need to have a discussion about Big Life Decisions. Specifically, the decision is to determine how best to prevent small life from taking up tenant status within you.

Sincerely and desperately,

P.S. Just for the record, no I am not willing to go the "abstinence until menopause" route, so don't even dare to suggest that.

P.P.S. To VPers: I'm not sure if I'm asking for input -- though if you have any, I'd welcome it -- or just to work through my thoughts. People here might understand it better than would the friends in my personal journal.

Yay, I just joined this comm! *waves*

Anyway. Ovulation question.

Recently when I ovulated I spotted. It was the same consistency as menstrual blood. There wasn't much and it didn't hurt or anything, but I've never bled while ovulating before!

So, is this a totally normal thing, or what?

On another note: I truly enjoy ovulating. Horny as hell for about three days. Unless I start semi-seriously dating a boy anytime soon, I'm staying off birth control pills, and I didn't have a lot of problems with them. I just find ovulating fun....when I don't randomly bleed.
