A while back, I posted asking if the abortion protester mutilated baby pictures were of actual abortions and got a resounding 'NO' ;) now I'm curious again, are there any pictures around of a REAL, first trimester abortion?

The closest thing I could find is: http://eileen.250x.com/Main/FET_DEV.PIC/12weeks.htm which...isn't really helpful.

what are you looking for, exactly? it's just a bunch of bloody tissue to a certain stage, and not much of it.. i wonder if my friend (works as a nurse in a clinic) would be able to photograph something for you, or if that's against any sort of rule....

for a good approximation:

i remember quite vividly what the jar looked like as they removed it from the room after my abortion:

about a quart jar. somewhat filled with clumpy period blood. really. if they poured it out onto a cafeteria tray, it would look just like waht i dump out of my Instead Cup. the foetus is no bigger than the tip of a sharpened pencil. so you would need a microscope and quite possibly a medical degree to recognize baby parts in all that. ...

I'm curious why you chose to pour it on a cafeteria tray, instead of a bowl or something. Just an interesting choice of words. :)

i was thinking she was trying to explain what would happen if you put it onto a flat surface, vs putting it in a container where you cannot see the contents as clearly

Ah, that makes sense. I just didn't get where the food connotation came in.

I found this (http://community.livejournal.com/ljforchoice/609955.html) (actual images immediately after the link) and this (http://community.livejournal.com/abortioninfo/190100.html) (text links to more links) through the memories in [livejournal.com profile] abortioninfo.

They look to be pics of fetal development; I don't know whether they specifically came from abortions.

Thos pictures in the first link amaze me at just what our bodies can do.

Yeah I am strangely obsessed with fetal development

Here's (http://pics.livejournal.com/tirlasutaa/pic/0000b3f6) the contents of the jar laying on the table. I will remove this pic from my account in a couple days.

Honestly, a first trimester abortion is just going to be a mess of tissue and look like period matter. A fetus doesn't really come into the 'picture' until later in the pregnancy.
