Hello everyonee!

For the first time in a while, I have a local boyfriend. So we are spending a lot of time time together. He's fingered me 3 times and everytime the day after I get itcky and a burning sensation inside my vagina. Is this normal? I'm not a virgin, but i only had sex 2 times. My other "experiences" were maybe..like once a month (I'm referring to fingering). My instinct is that my body just isn't used to this much "physical activity". Also, my vaginal lips will be sore and my cliut was be very sensitive the day after. Although, I have no immediate "side effects", it always a day after.

Please leave your advice/suggestions. Thank you.

hi, i just joined this community because i just came to the realization tonight that i have a septate hymen. i recently bought a diva menstrual cup and have been trying to insert it without success. now, the problem is obvious to me and i've really known that i've had this since i first started trying to use tampons about 6 years ago.   i just never knew what to call it or that it was an abnormality.  i guess i just thought it happened to every woman and just no one talked about it.

i'm almost 20 years old, i'm a virgin and plan to stay so until married. i've read some on how its possible that this hymenal band can break during sex but i have a feeling that its not going to and instead just going to prevent me from having full penetration during sexual intercourse (which would really suck on a wedding night).

i was hoping there might be some community members that have/have had this problem also and if you could let me know what to expect if i do need surgery. i'm kinda freaking out right now about the idea of having something cut out *down there*. thanks.

if you have no idea what i'm talking about, more info can be found here

Testing

My SO and I are both virgins, and also have not been sexually involved with anyone else, and have been discussing sex recently and feel that we are both ready. My question is, do we need to get tested for anything before we engage in sex? We will be using condoms and I am on birthcontrol (the pill). I have known him for 4 years so I know his history etc etc. Any input would be great.

Thanks :)

I'll also add that we are both healthy people and have not had any major infections before or anything like that... if that helps. :)

Thank you to everyone who helped me w/ my last post. I've got another question though - Alot of people have told me that it might not be a UTI.. just UTI symptoms cause of my birthcontrol (turns out I wasn't pregnant either, i later got my period) - My symptoms are no were near as bad as they were before (unless my headache & cramps are considerd a symptom) so I went and bought AZO Cranberry which are All Natural Concentrated Cranberry Supplements that promote a healthy urinary tract - I was wonder what your thoughts were on taking cranberry pills and drinking nothing but water & cranberry juice? A doctor once suggested this to my mother so I'm wondering how long I should take these things and since the are technically a vitemen(sp?) - they shouldn't effect my birthcontrol, right?

So I know what can cause a period to be late, but why would it come a whole week early? I'm not on any sort of hormonal birth control or anything. Is my body just trying to line up with another girl around me?

I've been meaning to ask this for awhile, does anyone have any advice or tips for me. My problem is that I cum way to fast, like five minutes and its over, if I was a guy I'd be a premature ejaculator for sure. And to top it off, my boyfriend is more like the sterotypical woman, taking a long time to climax. We've tried varying it up and still, I don't last long. Any suggestions would be awesome or does anyone else have this problem?

During Mardi Gras, I was working my ass off at the restaurant that employs me with little to no sleep/breaks/you name it. One afternoon, I was resetting the upstairs for a party and in my sleep-deprived daze, I slammed the chair I was carrying into a wall. It just so happened that the chair was pressed against my pubic bone so I immediately doubled over in pain from the impact. I was able to carry on after a few minutes like nothing happened and I forgot about it. The next morning, I woke up with a huge, nasty bruise on my mons which was extremely tender and unsightly. I've mostly ignored it since then because I've been waiting for it to heal and it's been too sore to touch until just recently.

However, last night my boyfriend and I were messing around and he was touching me (because it's not so sore anymore) and he felt a lump under the skin below the bruise. I felt it too and it kinda freaked me out...

Basically, I'm just wondering what it is. My boyfriend and I speculated that it might be a burst blood vessel or more blood gathered under the skin but I really have no idea. Anyone else have any suggestions? I really can't afford (time wise) to go to the doctor for a week or so which is why I came here first - I was hoping someone might have an idea of what's going on. I've had bad bruises before but I don't ever remember having anything like this!

Thanks for the help, everyone.

Hey, I tried looking at that link for pubic hair removal, but it didn't address the use of electric razors. I'm trying to find one that will actually work and shave my entire pubic area, not just trim it or do the bikini line. If anyone has any horror stories or can tell me what has worked best for them, please let me know. I use a regular razor now, but it tends to leave razor burn and never really gets a completely smooth shave. I was thinking of buying one of those men's facial shavers, but I'm afraid it won't be gentle enough for such a sensitive area.

Thanks.

Ovulating

Just out of curiousity:

Do you feel it when you're ovulating?
If so what does it feel like?

I have an issue that comes up sometimes during sex with my boyfriend. Sometimes, just before or even during my orgasm, I get an intensely painful cramp (kind of like a charlie horse, I guess) right along my inner thigh. This sucks, obviously, because it tends to hurt enough that we have to stop everything we're doing so I can stretch it out.

This has happened in pretty much any position where my legs are wide around him - so me on top, him on top, sitting in a chair, etc. These kinds of positions - the ones where we're face-to-face - tend to be the ones where I'm most likely to come, so I don't want to stop using them entirely!

Has anyone else ever had similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could avoid this?

Has anyone used RepHresh Gel? I just bought it and it seems to be working pretty nicely. I was curious and just thought I'd share.

I know this has probably been asked 1001 times, but I've just started taking a birth control pill (Loestrin) after 4 years of Depo and a year on the patch. It's been a while ;)

Will a multivitamin and mineral pill (my brand is "Nu-Life Ultimate One for Women", which is basically the same as any one-a-day) interact with the pill? How about the fact that the "specially designed base for adult women" is composed of American Ginseng, Suma and Chaste Tea Bark?

x-posted to [community profile] vaginapagina and [community profile] birthcontrol.

Edit: I just checked Loestrin against American Ginseng, and it lists a moderate interaction concerning too much estrogen. I probably won't take this multivitamin anymore.

A week ago, I found out I have chlamydia. I started on Doxycycline and have been taking it as instructed this whole time. Today's my last day with pills, and I've noticed tons of discharge today. I actually started noticing it last night, but today it's very obvious and pungent. We're talking foul odor that I can smell just sitting here. Gross, I know, sorry. Is this something to be expected? Is it a good sign, so to speak? Thanks in advance!

(I got such an amazing response last time, and I definitely appreciate it. Also, in follow up, I have an appointment on the 14th for an acid treatment for my molluscum. I can't wait!)

My mom hasn't had a gyno exam, or a professional breast exam, in years (she just turned forty-one). I've been harassing her about it.

This afternoon she called me, all excited: "I just had to tell you I had a Pap smear today! AND a mammogram! Aren't you so proud of me?!"

... My mom is pretty goofy.

And I am proud of her!

So I went to planned parenthood today to see about getting back on some birth control. I really wanted to try out the NuvaRing.
I was told that they only give the ring to people who are switching from another form of BC, and since I've been off the pill for a couple of months, they can't give me the ring.
When I told the doctor my complaints about Mircette and why I stopped taking it, she said "That surprises me, considering its a low-dose hormone pill, which shouldn't make you have side-effects. Are you sure the nausea, headaches and moodiness were caused by the pill?"
Uh, YEAH.

So she gave me a year's supply of Levlen-28, which I have never heard of.
While I know that everybody reacts differently to BC, I was wondering if any of you would please please share any experiences/information that you might have about it?

And has anybody else ever had this problem getting the ring?

Hey ladies!

I have trouble with chronic yeast infections.. I've tried absolutely everything (except gentian violet) to get rid of them. Nothing works. I have discharge and a bit of smell constantly, but not too much itching, which leads me to believe that it MIGHT not be yeast.. but I have a feeling it is. I have been diagnosed with a yeast infection by the doctor officially twice before, but before that used OTC meds and the extra medication she's given me. Like I said though, lately, it just feels like I have a mild one, constantly, until my period. Penetration burns and is uncomfortable, so the sex life lately is a bit troubled (although I have been abstaining- still, nada.)

The only thing I can think of is that I've never had a yeast infection until I started the pill, and I've always been on the same one. I've been on the pill for almost two years, and I didn't notice anything strange when I first started, but I've been having this problem for about a year, maybe more.

So, I'm thinking it might be time to try another pill. Have any of you guys had a better experience with the mini-pill? I was thinking that since it's the lowest of the low of dosage, it may alleviate the problem. However, I am worried about it's effectiveness- isn't it slightly lower than a combination pill? I still want to be able to use the pill as my sole form of birth control (although I use condoms when my boyfriend wants to ejaculate in me), but I don't think I'd be comfortable with anything less than the 97-99% the combined pill offers when having condomless sex (before anyone asks, we're monogamous and STI-free, yay!)

Thoughts?

PS- Going to the gyno in two weeks for my yearly, going to get tested for yeast, BV, et cetera. I made my own pads to try this period too, to see if it's that irritating me!

painful sex

Hey girls, I'm new.
I lost my virginity last October to my boyfriend that I love. The first time hurt pretty bad, as I had anticipated, but I figured it would only get better. Wrong. It hurt every time from then on, sometimes worse than the first. This really discouraged my boyfriend because he hated hurting me and only wanted to have sex if it was enjoyable for both of us. After convincing him we had to keep trying, we've reached a point where it doesn't hurt so bad, but it definitely doesn't feel good either. It still generally hurts upon entry, but then it's just sort of there..
I tried to figure out what exactly was hurting, and the best I can say is the front? I know that's not very helpful, but the pain was too excruciating to pinpoint.
Any advice, wisdom, etc. would be great.
I hate missing out on such a wonderful thing..

I'm new

Hi I'm new to the community.... I don't know exactly how to word this correctly so please be patient with me... My boyfriend and I were messing around (just to clear things up a bit we weren't having intercourse, but there was some penetration) and all of a sudden he really hurt me (I think my hymmn might have broken at that point but I'm not sure) when I told him that he really hurt me he told me that I was starting to skin. Can anyone please tell me what "starting to skin" means?
Thanks..

....is there anywhere to trade in vaginas? Mine is faulty ): I at least want a refund.

The more I have sex, the more pain I'm in!

The few times I've masturbated (didn't know it was possible until late high school, never found it satisfying) it was mostly external and no pain, no tampon associated pain though it was uncomfortable and dries me up, when I had sex for the first time almost a year ago it kind of hurt like a pushing-stretching feeling but I'd be fine the next day and have sex the next day with no problem.

Due to distance and parents I had a summer of few and far between sex but when I had it, no problems.

Now my partner and I are in the same town and I feel like I'm perpetually having vagina issues and the more we have sex, the less we can have it. When I first moved here, we could have sex 3x a day every day of the week and I wouldn't be the least bit sore.

I got a YI, abstained for a couple weeks, then was okay but 3x a day would be too much, 2x a day would be okay. Then I started getting spontaneous soreness that I was guessing was from having sex too rough, especially when I started doggystyle this seemed to be the case. Usually it would be painful around my urethra. So I'd have to take breaks from sex, for a few days at first then the soreness would come back too quickly so I'd start taking week-long breaks.

Then we thought it might be because I wasn't lubed enough so we started using lube, that helped by getting the abstain breaks down from week-long to just a couple days except by this point the pain isn't just external it's VERY internal and EVERY time. It feels like it's ripping apart in there when he goes in (yet this was NOT a problem when we started having sex...did I spontaneously grow a hymen that now won't die?!)

If he does it slowly and with LOTS of lube and it's been a while since we've had sex, I'll be okay but it DOES still hurt starting off and that's have sex once..abstain for days?! That SUCKS! His and my sex drive are way too high for that shit!

Recently no matter how much lube we pile on, it feels like we're scraping the inside of my vagina when we have sex and I thought maybe the tightness feeling and the scraping was a result of my nuvaring so since I'd heard that 3 hours or less out in 24 hrs doesn't damage protection (the packet is ambiguous though and now I dunno that I trust it).

That helped some but then I started a now three-week period. I had just gotten my divacup so I went about using that without cutting too much of the stem. The stem dug into me all day and I was sore from that for 3 days. I cut the stem to nothing and was wearing it during the day then resting the vag at night. I'd get a little sore by the end of the day and can't seem to keep the cup up high enough so it's not pressing into the enterence skin annnd for the first few days I'd have suction issues when taking it out that pinched my insides. SO, more soreness from that, oh boy oh boy.

I got it down to the day/night thing and was doing okay but then started feeling extra sore inside my inner labia (which sucks because apparently I have really long labia) all the way up around my clit (?! where is the pain coming from!! my diva cup was not laying on my vulva!) Instead of doing the day in/night out/day in thing I just took it out and left it out. Sore. Sore. Sore. In fact, I got MORE sore and the itchy/healy feeling so I put some vagisil on it which definitely helped. Left it out for the day, was in pain again at night anyway so again with the vagisil.

And now I feel like I have a rip just under my labia toward the urethra but on the heavier more outer-labia-ish skin. I've had that kind of feeling a couple of times before that related to sex but for obvious reasons I HAVE NOT HAD SEX IN FOREVER so I have no clue in hell where this 'rip' that stings when I touch came from. My partner and I are both STI/STD free, no yeastie smell or discharge or anything. My labia is a bit redder on one side but that's it.

What I don't get is why I'm having more problems and soreness NOW, but when I was first having sex with a totally unstretched, practically untouched vagina I was not sore at all!!

My partner keeps telling me to go to the doctor, but I wouldn't even know what to say.... my vagina is overly sensative to EVERYTHING, can I have a new one? Would there even be anything they could do? Or see? It doesn't look any different to me and I had a pap and the works a few months ago and they didn't see anything out of the ordinary and I don't see anything weird down there.

I just remembered this as I was removing my eye makeup with a washclothe that I just slung on the side of the sink so I could hop in the shower real quick.

I did the same thing about 2 weeks after my first period, only I removed BRIGHT PINK lipstick. It was on a light green colored washclothe, if I remember correctly. I just slung it on the side of the sink, figuring I'd grab it later when I did a load of wash. I went back into my room and..did what ever. Knowing me, got back on the comp.

ANYWAY, about 20 minutes later, my mom's husband (not my dad) walked into the bathroom and a few seconds later I heard him scream. I yelled, "ARE YOU OK??!" and he just called for my mom. So I thought..maybe he hurt his dick or something..I didn't want to have anything to do with that.

My mom rushed into the bathroom and I went to my doorway, making sure the bathroom door was closed, ha. I heard him go, "Is this Sara's PERIOD BLOOD??! WHAT THE FUCK!" There was a pause, and she goes, "Honey, it's bright pink. It's probably makeup. Don't be so silly, it wouldn't kill you." And he was like, "What ever, that would be gross." ...I know my mom hates her period and her vagina and all that, and she's flat out told me "period sex is gross", so I know that's never happened with them.

But, c'mon now.

BRIGHT PINK? Pssht, men sometimes.

Just a side note: I lost my virginity on the 5th anniversary of my first period. What about anyone else?

Hope this amused you ladies!

I've looked through the tagged entries and the archives and did a search and didn't find anything to specifically address my question.

I started taking antibiotics for an impacted wisdom tooth on Saturday and immediately started to take acidophilus pills to try to ward off a yeast infection. It didn't work. So now I need to take more aggressive measures to cure this thing.

My question is should I try to treat the yeast infection now or wait until I'm done with the course of antibiotics? If I "cure" a YI, yet continue to take antibiotics, won't it just flare up again?
