Testing

My SO and I are both virgins, and also have not been sexually involved with anyone else, and have been discussing sex recently and feel that we are both ready. My question is, do we need to get tested for anything before we engage in sex? We will be using condoms and I am on birthcontrol (the pill). I have known him for 4 years so I know his history etc etc. Any input would be great.

I'll also add that we are both healthy people and have not had any major infections before or anything like that... if that helps. :)
