I somehow managed to lose my birth control pills two days ago, right after I took the first active pill of my pill pack (Mircette). My body is already starting to retaliate for the change in hormone levels with mood swings and achiness. I can't afford to buy a new pack right away, so does anyone have any advice for alleviating some of these symptoms until I can?

Some time ago, someone on this community posted much glowing praise about a particular electric razor. I remember that they had only used it for pubic hair and it was recommended by exotic dancers here for that purpose, but I seem to recall from the website that it could be used for any part of the body. I also remember that it came with a trimmer, was around $60US, and I think it could be used wet or dry but I'm not entirely sure about that.

I bookmarked it, but I unfortunately had a major browser crash and lost all of my bookmarks, and I can't find it in the archives. My mother was very easily convinced that she needs one as well, so we're going to order two to be delivered to her home in the US as I think that the company (which may have been a Yahoo! store) doesn't deliver to the UK or if it does that the shipping is atrociously and prohibitively expensive. As my husband is visiting the area in which my parents live for a business trip from this weekend to next weekend, I'm hoping that the razors can be ordered and delivered before he returns home.

Can anyone help? Even if you can't provide a URL, a name or something identifiable so I can look it up on Google would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I was reading an earlier post about birth control and smoking, and how it's a bad combination. I was wondering if that applied to ganja smoking as well. I'm not on BC, but I toke, so the thought crossed my mind when reading, and I figured I'd see what people have to say. Theres probably not much research out there about it either.

To all the fabu women of this community,

I am not one for posts like this, but I need to accomplish one simple goal, to get as many people to go look at a pitch I have made for a business grant online. It's for a website I have been developing for a few months now. It's a site that promotes healthy additudes about appearance and self-image. It's a nice sized grant and would make a HUGE difference. At the site they are just doing preliminary voting and in the first week of June they will choose a few Idea to move forward in voting. Once again, voting will start over and I will ask you all just to go press one simple button, THATS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK, eh? If you would just go read it over and vote yes or no (I would prefer yes, of course!) It would be greatly appreciated. I think I may have a chance being quite a few of the other pitches are just silly. It's just a matter of my pitch standing out, amongst the others.

Also, If you could also spread the word to friends, it would be great! Thanks

Courtney

The skin on my labia is peeling...any idea why this might have happened? It's really itchy.
I do shave my pubic hair but this has never happened before.
Ergh. Any info is appreciated.

For several years I have been convincing myself that I have genital warts... all of this started at about age 14. I could be considered somewhat of a hypochondriac, or not. I've spent hour upon hour scouring the internet for any information I could find about genital warts, and most of what I found makes it sound as though if you have ANY bumps in your vaginal area that you have genital warts. I'm trying to covince myself that this absolutely isn't true. Alright, so here's the deal...

I have tiny bumps on the inside of my labia, those closer to the labia itself are more brownish in colour (the same as my labia), and those more inside are pink toned, just like the colour of the flesh inside. Not all of the bumps are flat on the surface of the skin, and several look sort of like small skin tags. They have never changed in appearance (at least since I first discovered them two years ago), they are never any more irritated than the rest of my vagina has been (such as no crust which is sometimes described in conjunction with genital warts), and all in all, they seem sort of normal in appearance.

Here's the other part which proves I am causing myself even more unnecessary anxiety... I have only had sexual contact with two guys, both virgins, and I had the bumps before I ever even had contact with the first. I keep convincing myself that my mother gave me HPV while giving birth to me, although I have absolutely no knowledge of her having the disease herself.

The websites absolutely terrified me into thinking that I definitely have genital warts... but is the inside of the vagina supposed to be perfectly smooth? Please tell me I am not alone and that the inside of the vagina CAN have bumps without being infected with HPV. I honestly lose sleep over this issue, and since I have yet to have my first gynecological exam, I have no other source of information about variations in vaginas. I have scoured the internet for pictures of (non-porn) vaginas, have looked on sites such as bmezine.com, and in comparison to these photos my vagina looks normal. Still, I can't stop worrying! Please girls! Help me out!

inspired by discussion in a thread about birth control in one of these communities, i wanted to post & see what people thought about fertility awareness.

just a brief run-down: fertility awareness is a method of birth control where you learn which days you are fertile and can potentially get pregnant, so you can either use protection or avoid intercourse on those days.

what you have to do for fertility awareness is to chart your basal body temperature first thing every morning before doing anything else, checking your cervical mucus (pretty much just yr discharge), and if you want, checking the position of your cervix. if you do two of the three every day, you'll know when ovulation occurs for you (since it's totally simplified and an incorrect myth that you can assume ovulation occurs on day 14), and when to not have unprotected sex.

fertility awareness is not the rhythm method. the rhythm method is a guessing game of trying to predict when your period will come again, and guessing about when ovulation will occur based on that. it's inexact and definitely shouldn't be used as birth control. fertility awareness is 98.5% effective when done correctly. it's easy to do it correctly, too - a great book on the subject is taking charge of your fertility, and there are classes offered all over the place (like through planned parenthood, health clinics, and colleges).

i think fertility awareness rocks because it really puts you in touch with your body. also, it's such a natural method of birth control; no crappy hormones or unnatural chemicals in your body. it's not for everyone, since you have to wake up around the same time every day, and if you drink or do drugs, etc, it affects your basal body temperatures so things get less accurate. but it's something hella cool to learn & even cooler when you can apply it.

i simplified things a lot in here, but mostly i was just hoping to get conversation started on the topic. thoughts?

hi all, does anyone have a scan of a 2003 menstrual calendar? I want to send it to a friend but I've already written on mine. I looked around on the internet a bit but couldn't find any based on 28 day cycles (duh), the one from the Slingshot organizers would be perfect. Thanks in advance!

Oh also, I started a community for people to discuss poly-cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) called Ladies with Cysts. Pass it around!
